how are you doing this monday? I hope you had a nice weekend. ^^<3 it's raining where I am, which fits perfectly into the watery pieces I'm sharing with you today. I've watched a lot of Blue Planet recently and am amazed by the abundance of life that is present in our oceans. it's also heartbreaking to learn how humans have negatively affected ocean life and ecosystems. I wanted to make pieces that show our connection with the ocean and how our places in it can be harmonious with the life that that calls it home.  

above: the postcard for this month! :D I'm seriously in awe at the sheer size of some sea animals. if we were submerged in their world of the sea we'd surely feel immensely small in comparison. there's something comforting about that, knowing there's something bigger out there, yet we're all experiencing the same moment in time. 

and the sticker for this month! ^^ I had a lot of fun with the colors in the postcard and wanted to bring them over into the sticker as well. I also played around with adding intricate details and taking my time with the illustration, coming back to it every couple days to to reassess the overall feel.
