hello! (⌒ω⌒)

a new month means a new speedpaint vid! I explored different stylistic territory with these pieces and learned a lot in the process of making them. as always, I started out with a rough brainstorm to come up with ideas for the artworks. my goal with this beginning stage is to keep things simple and readable. details can and will come later.

unless I have a VERY clear image in my mind of what I want, I tend to do several iterations to see which version of an idea works best. drawing at a small size helps keep this process quick and pared down so I don't get caught up in overthinking irrelevant details.

for the postcard, I used collage techniques to help add a scrapbook feel. I scanned in a variety of bits n bobs like stickers, washi tape, paper, and pieces of memorabilia to add a cut n paste texture to the piece. I've attached some of the assets I scanned and used in this piece to this post. download the folder and try playing around with the images to create your own collage! ^-^
