If you’re looking for a type of rule for a movie podcast, what if it was in the vein of anniversary movies like you’ve been doing with LoTR and Gibli movies but broaden it up. 10, 20, or 30 year anniversary for whatever came out that month.

Sorry I'm late, just getting around to catching up on podcasts post holidays since I didn't have to travel much. My "first thought - best thought" is something simple like "Jason and Ashley's Excellent Adaptations" where the film is an adaptation that one or both of your are familiar with the source material. This leaves it open for you to cover any comic book movies you might want to watch but could also include many other works that you are fans of from sci-fi to fantasy to Broadway, etc. Maybe not a real niche or tight guideline but again, it's pretty simple and it plays on the original title of this show. Second thought, and again playing on the title, is a guest-centric one - Jason and Ashley's Excellent Adjuncts, as in adjunct professors of the Mind University. Your guest would be bringing a favorite/nostalgic/seminal film to the table that hopefully at least either Jason or Ashley hasn't seen or hasn't seen in a very long time. Third thought, keep it Jason and Ashley's Excellent Adventure (through film?). Each film in sequence has some connection to the previous one, be it an actor, director, location, time period, etc. You could even start with Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and then hop to like the John Wayne film "The Conqueror" (a terrible example for the whitewashing but also maybe there's something very interesting to explore there) because of the Genghis Khan connection. It becomes sort of like a perpetual "6 Degrees" line of film exploration. You would just have to develop a set of rules for the connection to be however strict or loose you want. I know you weren't specifically looking to keep the title in any way but I just thought it would be fun to play off of. There's also always "Jason and Ashley Exploring Anime"...
