Man this was a cool episode and fun list to think about! There was a lot of great pulls you guys had and it really got me thinking what got to me emotional or my nipples hard lol. 1. Evidence Room Fight - Birds of Prey: It's a toss up between this and my number two. Two gave me more emotional feelings, but this hit me in a more nostalgic way. I absolutely adore Birds of Prey and the fundamentals it was building of off. I always found it to be a throw back to comic book movies of the 90's that have creative direction, memorable soundtracks, a personality and an overall style. Like The Crow, Spawn or Tank Girl. And this really scratched that itch for me, particularly with this scene. The way it's choreographed with "Black Betty" cover by Spiderbait, it gives this great energy and excitement. It immediately reminded me of the shootout scene in The Crow with "After the Flesh" by My Life With a Thrill Kill Kult playing. Plus I love Margot and to see her try the choreography with such a fun scene was extremely delightful. For me it hits a wonderful stride of entertainment and excitement that's hard for me to find in other comic book films. 2. The Trinity vs Doomsday - Batman v Superman: A controversial movie for sure, and you can even point that this fight is like everything else in the superhero landscape. But as someone that loves these three characters to see them all together fighting a big bad, it gives me chills. Especially when it starts with Wonder Woman saving Batman. As chaotic as these big cgi fights can be, I do think Zack Snyder has a uncanny ability to take control of the chaos and make it watchable, even engaging. I find with his directions, the playout of the action and Hans Zimmer's score, it gives a really spectacular spectacle. 3. Superman vs Zod - Man of Steel: Again controversial choice especially because of how this fight ends. But to that point, I love Zod declares during the fight "There's only one way this ends, Kal. Either you die, or I do." That actually has weight because it does end with stakes that high. So suddenly the fight feels more emotionally invested. And yes, it is controversial, but emotionally I think it works and I always get chills. I'll never forget when I first saw how that fight ends, my jaw was on the floor. It's an emotional gut punch that genuinely works for me. 4. No Man's Land - Wonder Woman: I don't think I could say it better than anyone of you guys. I think the point that was made about that scene being genuinely inspiring is really what makes this whole sequence superb and special. 5. Blade vs Nomak - Blade II: So what was funny about Greg picking the first Blade film, it made me feel justified to pick Blade II. True, it's not quite as effective like Blade's introduction in the first movie. However I would argue that it is unique in that there aren't really a lot of fights like this. Yes, it's a bit dated with the CGI that's sprinkled, but Guillermo made good use of these characters and their abilities. They are breaking walls, pillars, stomping on each other. They pop and break each other's limbs. Blade pops Nomak's arm out of socket, only Nomak to pop it back in place and uses it strike Blade. It's a crazy fight and it always stuck with me. It's a such a fun, let's bring out the toys and let's actually have a fun creative fight sequence.
