Hey Super Friends,

You now have EXCLUSIVE FIRST ACCESS to our very first GEEK HISTORY LESSON BOOK CLUB episode, so here we are to announce the next book. We want each graphic novel we choose to be integral to your comic book reading lexicon.

Since March is Woman's History Month and the release of Captain Marvel in cinemas we chose the very first storyline where Carol Danvers, as Captain Marvel, goes to space: HIGHER, FURTHER, FASTER, MORE.

You can get your copy of CAPTAIN MARVEL vol 1: HIGHER, FURTHER, FASTER, MORE (hardcopy OR digital!), RIGHT HERE.

Fun fact: we will be joined this month by special guest VICTORIA MALE of YOUR BIGGEST FANGIRL PODCAST! Be sure to leave comments for Victoria if you have them & check out her show - Ashley and I have both been guests.

Please leave your thoughts, comments, and questions in the comments section on this post and we will read them on the podcast! We had so many amazing comments last month, so the bar is high!

This book was the first actual Captain Marvel book that I have read. I enjoyed it so much and loved how the side characters were introduced. After this I started I went back and read In Pursuit of Flight and it gave me everything else that I needed to know. Is there a reason that female leads do not usually have their own books or haven’t been pushed until recently? I am just now noticing that most of the best female leads are exclusively on team books and seldom have their own books running.

First of all, thanks for recommending this volume, if not for the book club, I would have never read a single capt Marvel book. The story was great, with elements from the real world, with the middle eastern countries, like Israel for example. I liked the fact that at the end, Carol was willing to die for their freedom, and i think her position as a cosmic avenger suits her best! Also the artwork from David Lopez was perfect! And for the question....Do you think J son can be her primary villain? (Like Joker with Batman) Or do you think another one is more perfect for her?
