Next is one of the most important things we do around here: THE 4TH ANNUAL JAWIIN COMIC DRIVE FOR SERVICE MEMBERS

In case you don’t know: every year I partner with Operation Gratitude to sends comic books to service members overseas, recovering around the world in military hospitals, and their families back at home. This year our goal is to raise 15,000 comics from November 1st - November 30th. Our community here on patreon has given us such incredible support in past years and we are hoping that you will show up for our troops again this year.

Further details can be found at our landing page: buff.ly/2zhscWW

Alright, now onto the creative stuff. Our funds for Science! just cleared from Kickstarter, which means we are now able to move forward on the book’s production in a meaningful way. We also got our first round of notes back from our editor and publisher today. Presently, we are not only working toward making the book, but launching into the art process. The best part of that being that we’ll have some super cool stuff to share with all of you soon! Ashley and I actually have to begin writing our next chunk of pages ASAP to keep the wheels spinning!

My super secret Prose Book is well underway and I’m hoping to use NaNoWriMo as a way to complete the majority of the first draft. Like when working on the podcast, because it involves deep dives into specific periods of comic book history I’m having to do almost as much time reading as writing. It’s been a fun process and I’m learning some interesting things. You all will get the first announcement as soon as I get the all clear from the publisher before the rest of the world.

Geek History Lesson is making the push toward the end of the year. We’re about to gear up to begin production on this year’s holiday show. You gave us such an incredible response to The Doctor Strange Show last year and we want to create something just as fun to send off 2018. Including this week’s BEST DAREDEVIL STORIES, we announced the next 3 episodes in a separate post and I want to share some of our exciting upcoming guests with you. For STAR WARS VS STAR TREK we are going to be joined by KEN NAPZOK (Collider, The Napzok Files), so it is going to be a lopsided debate, but a very fair one. Also, since this nerd debate is a new format for GHL, be sure and let us know if you like it and you would like to hear more episodes like that. Then we pivot into the world of the magical for a HOGWARTS history lesson where we will be joined by Movie Trivia Schmoe down belt holder RACHEL J. CUSHING and do a deep dive on mythology and world building.

An Important Mind University Announcement: every year we take hiatus for American Thanksgiving and this year will be no different. However, because we don’t want to leave our amazing patrons high and dry there will still be a Geek History Lesson Extra that will go up here for you to enjoy!

A poll will be going up later this week for our next Movie Commentary. We’re thinking about recycling some of the options that almost won previous polls and see which one emerges victorious for the month of November. Be sure and keep your eyes peeled for that!

Arrow, The Flash, and Black Lightning are back in full swing on the Youtube channel and we’ve been having fun getting back into the swing of things. There are more shows beginning over the course of the next year that we will be doing reviews for and there are some we’ve reviewed in the past that will not be returning due to our current schedules. Be sure to check here first for all of that info. The Saturday Morning Show continues - we hope all of our American patrons are exercising their civic rights to VOTE this weekend - and once you’ve done that come and join us to discuss the latest nerd news! AND stick around for the patreon exclusive after show! where you have more opportunities to ask questions, suggest topics, and determine the future of the show.

I like to end every blog post by thanking each and every one of you for your support. You allow us to hop online and try all of these crazy, geeky things until we discover what sticks. Your feedback is invaluable. Your questions are interesting. Your support matters. Thank-you. Ashley and I are tremendously thankful for you this fall holiday season and always.

Happy (early) Thanksgiving, nerds!

Thank you

Jason Inman
