Eh he knew that he had the situation under control. I think that he was just doing his general sass routine. He would never let a Jedi (especially a master at that) get killed over something so preventable

I don't think he was going to get her killed, but for something that's he wasn't familiar with it was kind of weird to have Luminera be a guinea pig, especially when we see the results of those worms in the next episode.
