This week was the one I dreaded but also was looking forward to the most. Because Mondays study focus was on feet. I always struggled with drawing feet, which is not a problem 90% of the time because either you draw shoes or the feet are not even in the picture. But doing more figure drawing showed me that I had no idea how feet worked. The general shape was okay but as soon as I added toes it looked like I drew a weird paw or hand or whatever instead of feet. I found some different approaches to drawing feet, building them out of shapes for example. What worked best for me though was do some studies of ballerinas feet. Because the way they bend and flex makes the muscles and bones underneath very obvious. Having basic shapes to draw the form with helps as well though.
So all in all, I feel more comfortable drawing feet now. I still can't draw shoes without reference but that is not a shape problem and more of a "what kind of shoes are there" problem. I own four pairs of docs and a pair of vans and that's it. I am not a very stylish person, hahaha.
The clothed study is from pinterest again, these two girls looked so cool, again it is some japanese street style picture.
I struggled a bit with the nude figure drawing poses, they are very unusual but very interesting.

This was the last Art Veggies post. And it is interesting that I feel more comfortable but also it showed me where my weaknesses are. So I hope I can keep the discipline up and do more studies in the future. Not as many, because damn that was a lot of work. But I hope I won't just stop and never do studies again, which I tend to do sometimes.

Do you regularly practice something? An instrument or a sport or another hobby? Is practice as much fun as actually doing the thing?
