or "I can't wait for days to be longer and sunnier because all my pictures look like shit".
This is something I really appreciate with digital art, you don't have to wait for a good time to take pictures of it. Right now the days are pretty foggy in Vienna so the natural daylight we get is minimal and if I miss that window I am stuck with blurry sketchbook pics.
I still wanted to share some bits from my sketchbook so I am sory for the bad pictures.
The first pic was a first draft of a tattoo design. The clients forearms are too slim for the racoon though so we decided to go with a different animal. I still liked the racoon though, might want to color that sad face.
The other two pics are from my sketchbook. I started a new one at the beginning of the year and I've been sitting on that first page with the plant studies for two weeks because those plants I drew with ballpoint pen intimidated me. I was procrastinating drawing in my sketchbook because this unfinished page was annoying the heck out of me. But then I found out that this sketchbook (an A4 sized Moleskine) actually takes super well to gouache and the rest of the page was a treat to finish. The unicorn turned out better than I thought, working with skin tones in gouache is pure hell for me because mixing colors is so different in this medium. It turned out fine but I think working in bigger sizes in gouache would be a no go for me.
The big downside to painting in my sketchbook is, that it will take longer to finish pages because painting takes so much longer than inking.

I hope you had a great weekend,
<3 Sarah
