In part this is also from 2018 because I started this sketchbook in August 2018. But I just finished it and I feel like that is one of my proudest achievements this year. This might also just be the case because I'm horribly forgetful and I have forgotten what else I did this year.
I added some captions to each pic so you know a bit about the page. There is definitely a video coming that I want to make, because scanning this beast will be hard. I might also scan some bits and make a pdf or zine. I just need to find out how well the pages with tape on them scan because the tape is a reflective surface.
I've not yet started a new sketchbook but this one made me fall in love with bigger sizes so I might go with an A4 sized sketchbook again after I finish the blank ones I still have around. Yes, I have multiple blank sketchbooks. I have a problem...

It is interesting but finishing off this sketchbook kind of closed the chapter of 2019? It is interesting how finishing something like this, even though it is not a real project or anything like a comic, still has such an impact.

I  hope 2020 holds many good things for you. For me it will be a busy year but hopefully a successful one. I hope you stay with me for that journey.

Files

More Posca marker experimentation.
This is the first page. Brush pen and Posca markers and a paper bag from a gift from Japan.
More Posca marker experimentation.
Two thingts I drew while travelling to Sweden. Some root veggies and a chocolate bar (that I drew with Posca pens and cut out).
Inktober planning 2018. The prompts and the thumbnails.
One of my favorite pages, markers and a leaf I found and forgot in my sketchbook so I glued in the pieces left of it.
Sketches I wanted to turn into illustrations as well as more leaf goodness. I tend to collect a lot of plants.
Drawing at the central graveyard in Vienna.
The beginning of a (failed) 100 faces challenge. It taught me a lot about drawing faces though. More plants and experimentation.
I collected some chestnut flowers and they are so pretty! Taped some in, did some studies, doodled a bit.
Drawing of Oh la la, a red persian show cat from a Netflix documentary.
Inspired by the Koloman Moser exhibit in Vienna as well as my favorite flower, lilac.
Not a pretty page but this is how I capture fleeting ideas. This vulture will go on to be the one that I painted as a mural.
This is the sketch I did after the post-it. Much closer to the original.
A study of knights helmets for an illustration project I'm still working on.
A drawing I did at a con that was situated at a racing track. There was so much horse imagery everywhere!
Have you played Ultimate Goose Game? Because you should...
A creepier version of the goose.
Some loose anatomy and a lovely leaf.
A sketch from a Jester cosplayer that I embellished with a Jester portrait I drew with markers.
A very broody Caduceus Clay and some flowers I collected this year.
One of my favorites. Really love that creepy warlock.
Some sketches of aforementioned warlock.
An idea for a scene. I tried to capture the light and contrast but markers
Inktober 2019!
A doodle. I sometimes like to take characters from brans or wrapping paper and reimagine them.
The Witcher! He is grunting a lot in that show.
