Good day, loves.

There are quite a few things I want to say about this piece...

As my sister described it, I suffered from the "Perfectionist syndrome".
I believe that by now you know how I usually operate... ^^"

The truth is, I do not like leaving pieces half done knowing I can do better.
SO, as I have described previously, I was enamored by the concept I came up with for this piece from the beginning. Unfortunately, however, a series of events stacked up in such a way my motivation started to get slowly depleted...

Let me try to summarize it...
Everything started with me assuring I was going to do something simple for the next piece. Nothing too complicated.
So the very first sketch was actually a waist up piece. But since I wanted to get the proportions right, because of the size difference, I made it a full body piece and since I liked the way it looked I decided to stay with it.

Nonetheless, that did nothing but made me wonder where would Nick's tail be and how would it work with the shirt, which already had a couple of different versions of their own.

By the time I was done with all the flat color versions, I didn't even think about the background because I was sure I was going to do something simple...but that was not the case anymore.
When I got back to my original reference I noticed that not only it was a waist up piece, but the background was out of proportion, focus and it wasn't even finished. But it worked for that piece since it was not the main focus.
But that just wouldn't work for mine...so I went through the exhausting task of creating a new background (something I am not good at), and working with the perspective that would mine look good. But when I thought it was good enough (perspective wise) I realized it was empty. It needed a couple of items to look like an actual active kitchen...

And that was still not taking the shading part into consideration...

But alas, here is the final result.
My apologies. It was all just a bit overwhelming, but I acknowledge it was my own doing.
Trying to do something simple turned into something really complicated because of my own quest for "perfection".
Which, like my sister and many other artists would tell you, DOESN'T really exist. ^^"

Also, I apologize for the long description. I just needed to vent out about it all...
But please, do let me know what you think.
I chose this one as the official final version based on your feedback! Thank you! X3
And just included the alt. version with Nick tail loose.

This is just gorgeous, Rasps!! So very sweet! It's quite evident just how much time and effort you put into this! Try not to beat yourself up too much about your perfectionism; it seems to be a common problem for artists. 🤗 All you can do is identify it when it happens and have the self-discipline to combat it a little at a time. Art, like life, is a journey and progress takes time. 🤗
