Hi Everyone!

Hope you've been doing well this week. There's not a ton of new content to show this week but I have been busy so lets get into it!


1: What's New

There's really two new things this week.

Chests:

The first is I got started on the refactoring of the treasure chests. There's a few reasons I wanted to spend around 2 weeks to refactor them.

The first and most visually obvious was that the chest was the only object in the environment that's not conforming to the top-down side perspective. It's currently drawn front facing which has been bugging me.

The new chest design is now at the proper perspective and a much more Chonky design.

But I also took the opportunity to add a lot more visual components as well and separate out some objects like the chains that hold the chest open when locked.

This should all materialize for next weeks roundup but the visualization of unlocking chests and collecting treasure should be much, much more clear to see.

There's a few gameplay things I wanna do with the chests as well that we'll see. :)


Itch.io:

The 2nd thing I did this week was finally get the Bindmancer and Ticklish Tessa onto Itch.io.

I think the response so far has been great. A lot of people downloading the demo which is great to see.

The reason for getting this done was that the Bindmancer Public Demo will be part of a free demo pack that'll be promoted late August. So that's exciting!

2. What's Next

Next week will be focused on getting in the improved chest into the game and working. My hope will be to get a new patron build for people to play on the 20th. We'll see how we go!
