I’m really like how we get to see the relationship between Kanan and Rex change throughout the show.

Very fun Kanan and Rex episode! rebels didn’t just magically make Kanan trust Rex at the end of that introductory two parter when they met; we get to see the, work out their relationship through adventures like this. Good shit 1). While it was a plot device here mainly, don’t ignore the Imperial ship at issue here - it’s what’s called an Interdictors cruiser, known for “gravity well” generators. I believe this is the first canonical appearance of this weapon, which was first introduced in the Heir to the Empire trilogy in the 90’s. Filoni brought the concept I. Because it’s a useful mechanic in Empire-Rebels battles. Basically, these gravity well generators create a field tricks hyper drives into thinking there’s a planetary mass nearby. The two practical effects are: 1) any ship located in the field (which is normally a cone shape projected in a particular direction from the generator) cannot enter hyperspace; and 2) any ship in hyperspace that happens to cross the field gets sucked out. As you can imagine, the Rebel hit-and-run tactics really get boned by these ships, which is why we see the Imps testing the tech here. In the hands of a competent imperial, any rebel force gets trapped and smashed 2) The imperial here is admiral Titus. He runs the ship as a naval officer. When he talks to agent Callus, an intelligence officer, we see the tension between the imperial navy and imperial intelligence. Given that almost all imperial officers are pompous assholes, it’s pretty telling that they don’t like intelligence agents. They’re even bigger assholes 3) Chopper - an absolute savage for…snitching on Ezra, then dropping him with the gravity controls. 4) Peep Sato’s shoulder armor! Looks like the style Obiwon and Anakin wore over their robes in Clone Wars! 5) Sabine conveniently knows a lot about Imperial technology from her time at the academy. What a nerd, she probably played magic: the gathering at lunch and got straight to A’s and did extra credit …
