You should definitely check out the FAN MADE films on youtube. Like the score keeper, shards of the past, bucketheads, and shadow of the Republic just to name a few. There's even one where they reanimated a deleted scene from clone wars between Ani and Obi "Ahsoka's decision"

If you're looking for some YouTube fan made stuff, OtaKing77077's Star Wars Tie Fighter animated short is INCREDIBLE. Made by one dude in his spare time over the course of two years. Beyond that, going away from Star Wars, the five Astartes videos are incredible (and short, watch them all in one go). Don't need to know anything about Warhammer to appreciate them, all made by one guy in his spare time.

I liked this the first time I saw it, but seeing it again, and as a fairly hardcore fan, there are a lot of issues with the sound design chosen that take me out of it. That's just me though. Your comment though about Obi-Wan being more powerful if he was struck down: in the SW universe, Qui-Gon was the one who learned how to become a Force ghost, and he then taught Yoda who then taught Obi-Wan. Part of that was that because using the dark side corrupted people, Sith could never become one with the Force and come back as a ghost. So Obi-Wan had learned the path to immortality, which was what Palpatine and the Sith, and Vader always wanted but could never achieve because of the corruption of the dark side.
