My opinion of Gus might be controversial. I don't see him as a "bad guy." I see him as dangerous for sure. However, when you hold him up beside Kevin in comparison - Gus is great. I also don't necessarily see him as a capitalist. To me, Gus seems to have more morals than Kevin. Is he doing bad things? Sure. But he is subverting the system and using his business as a front to build his own economy for impoverished people. That town that Mike stayed in - all those kids and families? Funded by Gus. We don't see Gus using his money to present some sense of prestige like Don Eladio. I don't even think Gus craves power. I think Gus is fueled by revenge and building an empire that he is charge of so he can help people. Yes, he can be very cold-blooded. But subversion of a centuries-old system to help people that are neglected by corrupted systems that wear a mask of "good" to let them suffer and die is kind of noble in my opinion.

I agree with you. I think Gus is very interesting as a character when it comes to examining whether he's 'good'. By conventional standards I think most people would say no, simply due to the criminality he does take part in, but I agree he's mostly motivated by revenge which means he will do ANYTHING to get it. That's where the crime comes from, but aside from that he is the best he can be and it manifests itself as him using his wealth and power for great good as well.
