i feel like you completly missed the point of the flashbacks and jason was so much worse at hidding in this episode,the point was jason really dosen't like pretending to be someone he's not and after his frist conversation with elenor he wasen't even trying to hide aymore because he values his indenity over his own life,

I didn’t miss the point in broad scope, but taking it beat by beat I give my thoughts as I have them (And the clarity that he genuinely values his identity more than his own life rather than being an idiot is frankly not there yet, for me, someone who doesn’t know this character well enough yet)

Haha. They mention in the DVD commentary that they added in that healing hand thing in episode 2 to throw people off people who suspected "Jason".

I'm actually a little curious about the soulmate thing. If they got people into the good place who shouldn't be there, then who's to say they're even with the right soulmate? Jianyu isn't even the right name, what if the real Jianyu, Tanahi's soulmate, got sent to the bad place by mistake? Or the person who's supposed to have Eleanor's fake backstory? Alternatively, what if someone gets to the good place but their soul mate was sent to the bad place? Maybe Eleanor and Jason weren't meant to be here, but lucked in because their soulmates are here? I HAVE QUESTIONS!

2023-12-23 11:57:39 I've kind of been wondering this myself, if ANYONE got the right soulmate, given this mixup, and everyone is sort of a ticking time bomb of a bad relationship (helped by the type of people in The Good Place inherently being more genial in general) It seems to me that a living soulmate is a different thing from a Good Place Soul Mate. From a TV production perspective, I am expecting that Eleanor being where she is, as well as Jason, is not a mistake, it's intentional, I am thinking someone is hoping to sabotage Michael.
