Ah I've been waiting for this episode! So happy you're loving the show!

Omegastar

Hah, I knew you'd like this episode. Its so freaking good. The way they structured this episode, with Madame Razz forming a bridge between Adora and Mara, is pure brilliance. And in the span of a single 23 minute episode they manage to make us care so much about Mara - a character we've barely seen until now - that her final moments are absolutely heartbreaking, while at the same time also dumping a metric ton of lore on the audience. The comparison you made between Etheria and the Death Star is a good one. From what I understand about the writing process in the show, they laid the groundwork for this plot right from the start, though apparently they did change some details around the end of season 3. But I don't think anyone watching the show for the first time would ever have predicted that Madame Razz calling Adora Mara all the way back in season 1 would turn out to be an crucial element three freaking seasons later. The fun thing is that there are other details (especially parallels and contrasts, this show is absolutely stuffed to the brim with them) like that scattered throughout the show. Rewatching She-Ra is incredibly satisfying because of that. Also, fun fact, Madame Razz is voiced by Grey Griffin, a veteran voice actress who is perhaps most famous for voicing Azula in Avatar the last Airbender.
