It will never cease to amuse me how your guesses can be simultaneously so close and yet so far away. So, that twist that the anime does better is the whole Siegrain is Jellal twist. It sets up Siegrain as having a twin earlier instead of randomly bringing that up in this arc, and makes him less obviously evil so it's plausible that they're separate people. A nice detail is that Jellal has to split his magical power with his thought projection. So if they're individually powerful enough to get on the council and run this tower, that is a lot of combined power. "Property damage is Fairy Tail's specialty" is the way that line was worded when I first watched this, and it was so hype that I remember the specific wording almost a decade later. I do have to say I don't like Natsu punching Erza here. The reason he gives is because she was scared and crying and that's not who Erza's supposed to be? She can be sad if she wants to (especially in this kind of situation), you don't have to gut punch her for it.
