Your whole rambling about the episode's title at the start was very amusing. When Makarov is thinking about which of the S-Class wizards will take over when he retires he namedrops the person who has only been alluded to so far (though not in the anime) saying "[Name] is out of the question." Also, when talking about Erza, the wording used is "So the only one left... She's so young, but... Erza..." So it's less that she's legally too young and more he'd prefer to have someone with more life experience take over from him. In terms of the play, the part where they go to meet their fans and see the returning characters is filler, but the whole play job itself is in the manga. (Cuts to those characters reacting to the play is also technically filler). On that point, the anime tries to claim Bora's actions in the first episode were innocuous. This is a lie. He straight up tells Lucy in the first chapter that she will be sold as a slave in a country called Bosco, and was about to brand her (with a branding iron) just before Natsu crashed in. As such he is very arrested and not able to visit a play. I don't usually mind the anime's additions, but this? Downplaying a villain's crimes just to add them to the cast of returning characters you're using to fill out canon content so it justifies half an episode? No thank you.
