2/4. WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT EA'S NEW MOD POLICY FOR THE SIMS 4

EDIT: Since posting, the Policy Page has been updated to re-state that early access is still allowed. Text below is IRRELEVANT now.

Modders have noticed yesterday that EA released a page about their new MOD (mods / cc / etc) policy.
You can find more information about it here and see conversations related to it.
The bottom line is that the rules seem to be the same as before, EXCEPT there seems to be no room or support for early access anymore.
It is STILL OK for creators to have Patreon / Ko-FI etc and to get donations from all that.
We have been discussing this on modder forums heavily since yesterday, and just about all of us have come to the conclusion that early access is indeed NOT permitted anymore.
Of course, this comes as a consequence of all the modders / cc makers who ignored the rules and put their work under permanent pay walls, and as a consequence of the recent doxxing scandals relating to these creators.
Let's not forget this.
It is quite sad that people who followed the rules are the ones who will pay for people who didn't.
(By the way, selective testing will also, under new rules, probably not be allowed. I might end up having to release untested mods [tested by ù. Which is pretty terrible for me and you both. This is something we could really use clarification upon as well).
I hope that there will be some final statements about early access, but for now I am fairly convinced that I am not going to be able to offer this benefit anymore.
I will keep you updated if any specifications from EA about this topic come to my attention.
I know a lot of patrons join punctually or are here for that exact benefit. The toll of losing that support might mean some bad news for my modding, but I completely understand if subscriptions do not seem appealing without the early access, and they do not blame anyone for whatever decisions they will make.
Thank you all.

3/4. ABOUT LGBTQIA+ Mod v2:

I am still hard at work on the version 2 of this mod, which is basically almost the same as the previous version in gameplay terms, except it now encompasses and integrates the new game system that came with the recent patch. There are also a few added settings, and performance improvements.

It might take another day or two, maybe three if testing isn't going great, and the mod will be out.

4/4. ABOUT EVERYTHING ELSE:

Remember how I was saying I was going to take a break? Well I did it. The then upcoming patch had me freak out and review a bunch of stuff in my mods. Then there was the patch itself. So I didn't take a break. Over the past six weeks there probably has been only a single day in which I didn't work on mods & support at least 7 hours and at most 13, with an average in between those two. Even with all my adaptive technology, that is by very far way too much computer and way not enough breaks for my limbs to deal with. It is stupid and I need to try and heal the damage. I will take a real break after the new version of lgbtqia is out. (I have to finish it bcs it needs its patch integration...).

IN CONCLUSION.

Thank you again, for your enthusiasm, your support, and everything else. You have changed my life, and I am proud that you believe in me and my creations and that you include them as tools in your stories.

Much Love, and talk to you soon,

Lumpinou

Your mods are an absolute must in game. I don't even remember what playing without them is like. I've been an on and off patron and I'll continue to do that when my income allows. I support whatever decision you make. Thank you!

I will continue to support you because you do amazing work. I believe your mods are worth it! I play Sims since the original The Sims and quite frankly, I was a bit shocked how natural it has become for some creators to say it's okay to only pay for their cc and not release anything for free. It has always been to share a better experience, created originally because they wanted to improve their gaming experience and to have more fun. If it weren't for the lackluster base the Sims 4 has created, we would not be were we are today. Anyway, thank you for all the hard work it is truly appreciated!

I actually just signed back up to support you, because your graceful handling of this!!! I hardly play lately but your mods were always lovely !!! I hope many others see how graceful you handle this and chose to stay!!

I support a few creators, not for early access, but in recognition and appreciation of the work that they do. Your mods improve my game and just as I pay for DLC from EA, I am happy to support modders that add more to my game. My support will continue - many thanks x

Nascent

I plan to continue supporting you and other modders who do follow the rules, who treat their Patreons with respect and provide great customer service and mods. I am sorry that it seems those of you who have been doing right are being punished, however I also believe that once the bad modders are weeded out that EA will continue to provide opportunities for modders such as yourself to build your support and get new opportunities so please don't stress. Ps. Go take that break, you DO deserve one.

AthenaVee

I just became a patron for a year because you deserve it even without early access.

The EA policy deal made me wanna support modders even more. Above all without perks, it is true love, now. ;) Since I am more financially stable, I have chosen to give you some of my bread. Your mods are one of the reasons I still have fun playing TS4. Keep going! <3

Icemunmun just posted this link to the official statement. Reasonable amount of time for early access is granted https://help.ea.com/en/help/the-sims/the-sims-4/mods-and-the-sims-4-game-updates/

They have clarified early access is fine now!!! I just want to say that you were one of the first people I saw that said they were dropping the early access with the new policy and I really really appreciate your commitment and respect for the community and the people that support you. It's for people like you that I'm super happy that EA clarified that early access is okay.
