Hey everyone!  Here I am with season 3, episode 4 of Camp Camp!!!  OMG YOU GUYS!!!  I never ever wanna see Nikki in pain, but wow was this a funny, sweet, and surprising ep!  I love how everyone wanted to do something for her, and even though Max was being his usual self, he was the one who pointed out that she should get to do what she wants too.  And WOW, how did I not put that twist together?!!?!  Our girl is growing up......I don't know how to feel about it!!!  Nikki eps are always so weirdly wholesome, I just love her!  Great ep, enjoy!  ~ MH

This is such a great Nikki episode I love it so much. Yeah the name Neil came up with for his tonic does sound wrong. I think it makes sense why Max doesn’t believe there is anything wrong with wrong with Nikki after drinking the tonic since it’s a child who gave the diagnosis. A child asking what happens when you die is one of the heaviest things a kid can ask an adult no matter the age so I’m not surprised Gwen & David were not sure what to say to Space Kid especially when they are still pretty young themselves. It’s interesting to learn that Gwen is most likely an atheist while David is probably religious. Even if there was selfishness involved I think it’s very heartwarming that all the campers came together to give Nikki the best last day ever. I think the best idea was Nurf getting Nikki a lot of food I know I react with a lot of excitement & enthusiasm when it comes to food. I think it’s interesting to see Max for one of the first times be confronted with his selfish & dismissive tendencies by one of his friends & not an adult and I think because it was a friend saying and an uncharacteristic outburst from Nikki I think it made it easier for him to reflect on how the way he acts affects his friends. Also the dialogue from Nikki especially “that’s what selfish means” goes hard. I love to see Max’s progress & development here with this genuine apology as well as thinking of what Nikki wants for her last day on earth it’s quite wholesome until of course the twist. Which is hilarious with her desire being to have a Viking burial with fire & everything which is actually crazy but it’s so, so Nikki. You have to appreciate the hard work David & Gwen put into teaching Space Kid about as many afterlifes as they know of. I love the lesson/sentiment of having to come to terms with not knowing what happens when you die. I think it’s good to be aware of death but focus more on life it can help with being more at peace with death. Also they are rightly freaked out by what the kids are doing LOL. It’s wild that on more than one occasion the kids have tried to burn Nikki alive probably at her request LMAO. The twist that this is all just Nikki growing up & having her first period. I love Nikki’s reaction when she is told this because for some it’s the worst thing to grow up. I also didn’t realize this was what was going on even though it makes perfect sense don’t worry. Maybe I had a disadvantage being a guy but I think we can partially blame America not having the best sex Ed for people not thinking of this being what was going on first. I like how Nikki describes this painful thing after Gwen I assume did her best to teach Nikki. Also poor David at the end with SK LOL. I can understand you feeling sad to see the kids growing up even if I didn’t feel that way it’s understandable when you get attached to characters. Although it is generally sad to think of any kid growing up in some ways even if it’s good in others. Awesome reaction, thoughts & keep up the great work. :-) <3

This is one of my favorite episodes, it’s so freaking good! I think I hadn’t started figuring out she was having her period till she lashed out at Max, so the moment she mentioned bleeding I was cracking up. And Space Kid asking about the afterlife and everything was hilarious. I’m not sure why though but for a while I remembered this being a S2 episode, to the point that once we had the Flower Scouts episode I was really questioning “wait, what about the Nikki episode? Did I miss it somehow?” 😅

I love that we got a Nikki ep too! I know, those were tough conversations to have at any age, nevermind that Gwen and David are still probably fairly young themselves! I know, everyone was kinda sweet in their own way! Nikki really hit the nail on the head with that line right?! The Viking funeral thing was amazing, it's so Nikki hahaha!!! I agree, I try to focus more on life too! LOL can you even imagine stumbling upon this scene! HAHAHAH they were ready to go all out and really light her on fire!!! Yeah I don't think you can blame yourself, I didn't realize it either, but for some reason I thought she was 7/8 and not 10/11 too. I know, to think that all this change is coming can be even scarier somehow! I know, Space Kid's question was just the cherry on top after a very weird day haha. That's the thing, it's sad/scary for things to change so much for kids, but it's something we all go through! Thank you so much for all the support!!!
