Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to episode 10 of Frieren!  OH DANG!!!!  Not only do we get a real origin story for Frieren here, but we get a lot of info surrounding how she uses her skills!!  And just how powerful she really is!  I love seeing her with Flamme, and I love how so many things from her past correlate to her actions today.  Suppressing mana is actually really clever and a battle strategy we see all the time in anime battles.  But dang, how satisfying was that final scene with Aura?!?!  DAAANNGGG!!!  Love it!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Hey Melissa, these were two of the best Frieren episodes we've had so far. They are so full of good action and great animation. that it's really remarkable. It was also the point in the show where I got truly hooked and was able to lose myself more in the world. Because before that I wasn't quite sure if I really liked Frieren or not. It's good to see how Fern and Strong have evolved and how well they can both fight now. Fern has really learned a lot from Frieren and suppressing her mana is a very good technique to use against opponents. A lot of people would call it unfair, but I think it's a very effective technique to win. I mean, you want to defeat your opponent as quickly as possible so that you don't run the risk of being injured or even killed yourself. And that's why this technique is actually quite useful. I also thought it was nice that we got to see a bit more of Frieren's master, Flame, and the techniques she passed on to Frieren. It's also interesting to see how the two of them met and how their hatred of demons came about. The highlight was of course the very short fight between Frieren and Aura. I thought it was a very cool detail that Frieren got Aura to decapitate herself, since Aura herself decapitated all her puppets. The reason was that one, as we saw in the Count's flashback, was able to resist the curse. But only because he was mentally stronger than Aura. That's why she had all her opponents beheaded, so that it wouldn't happen again. The next episodes will be a bit more relaxed and contribute a bit more to the worldbuilding. I'm already looking forward to that.

Hey Leonie!!! They were amazing right! I can see why you got hooked here! I agree, I think it's just a good battle strategy. It's very efficient like you said. I loved seeing more about Flamme and Frieren and how their battle with demons started. That's such a great point about the irony of the beheading too! Thanks for clarifying why she was beheading the puppets who had mental strength. I can't wait for more worldbuilding and relaxing!!!
