Hey everyone!  Here I am with the eighth ep of Oshi no Ko!!!!  Awwww Kana!  I loved having an ep where we explored how she's really feeling and all the things that have brought her to the way she thinks/feels about herself now.  I can't imagine the pressure of having to be "relevant" as a small child, only to get abandoned by your family and manager and struggle as such a young person.
I just really want  win for her!  I know she can do this - she has all the talent and skill, she just needs to believe it about herself, you know??  Can't wait for the finale!  Great ep!  Enjoy!!!  ~ MH

One thing that is SO hard for musicians to accept is that lack of commercial success does NOT mean the musical performance AS MUSIC was bad or lacking talent. The market is a fickle thing and it's nice when these two coincide but they are only very loosely correlated. Many works of art, songs, etc, are not appreciated in their time but become cult classics later. The Karaoke machine gives us an objective measure of Kana's real abilities, which are solid. Kana points to the disappointing sales of her first album as evidence she's not cut out to be a singer but this is an unfair metric to apply. That two idol Otaku like MEM and Ruby LOVE her music MEANS something but Kana refuses to see it. Something can be a critical success but a commercial failure...goodness knows it happens in movies all the time! Kana should know that as an actress....but she conveniently forgets or refuses to see the same possibility is true in the music industry as well.

Facing those “not good enough” insecurities is rough as an adult. I can't imagine being so familiar with those feelings as a kid.

Exactly!!!! It happens in every form of art there is honestly. And so true that some things just aren't appreciated in their time, but might be discovered later. I couldn't agree more!!! I think Kana's having a hard time moving past her own feelings on it, even if the facts say otherwise. Totally understandable.
