Hey everyone!  Here I am with the sixth ep of Oshi no Ko!!!!  OMG........you guys, this one was too real!!!!  Poor Akane :(  She was trying so hard, and to have it all blow up in her face like this was brutal!  The amount of overwhelm that comes from the constant flow of hate on social media in a situation like this was just exhausting and devastating to watch.  I really, really thought that was it you guys!!!  I'm SO glad Aqua was there, omg!!!!!!!!  They did a great job of capturing the emotion of this situation but MAN, I was wrecked after this one!!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!!!  ~ MH

So, in the vein of Art Imitating Life Imitating Art.....this episode in particular raised some controversy in Japan because it mirrors in some detail a real minor idol celebrity suicide and the mother of the survivor expressed her displeasure at seeing her daughter's life being mined for material....and was immediately attacked on line by rabid fans of the manga & anime of Oshi No Ko! Add to this the fact that when the English Dub was released, rabid Oshi No Ko (Jp. Subtitled) fans viciously attacked the performance of Kristen McGuire (Akane) and her fellow cast members (like Natalie Rial {Kana}, et. al.) rallied to her defense and chided fans for ignoring the moral of the show and this episode itself! It was ugly and bizarre and played out all over Twitter at the time. It's not uncommon for some anime fans to bash the English dub; it's ignorant but it happens....but it's disgusting they made it so PERSONAL, for THIS particular episode....the irony is bitter indeed.

Wow. I was not expecting something like this. I’m just going to the comments and soaking all the information in. It’s a tough subject but one that needs to be told as a reminder. Very heartbreaking stuff.

Whoaaaa....that's intense! And it's horribly ironic that the idol's mother was attacked online by fans....like do they know what even is the point they're trying to make on the show here?! What a mess. And that's so sad about how the dub actors were attacked. Dub VAs take so much crap anyway, but yeah, for this particular episode is incredibly ironic. Wow!!!!!
