Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 1, episode 12 of Chainsaw Man!  OMG!!!  Here we are at the finale!  The fight between katana guy and Denji was intense, but Denji had the upper hand in the end (well not really, since his arms were cut off, but you know what I mean!).  I also LOVE the idea of the "contest" that he and Aki had, and the fact that Aki let loose a little bit too.
Speaking of which, we laid the Ghost to rest in this one, in more ways than one perhaps.  The plot thickens for what's the come!!!  And just what on earth was that dream?!  The Secret of Pochita?!
Who was the girl at the end?!?!?!  Can't wait for next season!  Great ep and great season!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Jumpfesta is in December and they will be talking about chainsaw man hopefully it'll be some season 2 news and also they'll be talking about demon slayer and my hero academia

There's something i think you'll enjoy if you plan on rewatching episodes to see any interesting details or Easter eggs Chainsaw Man has huge inspiration from the Kamen Rider series :D they both share a lot of themes and Chainsaw Man has plenty of subtle references to Kamen Riders across its whole franchise

Hi Hime :) I told you this ending was nuts lol Makina is not in contract with the future devil, I won't say more, but like I said, when you find out what it is, everything will make sense. It's not Aki who kills the mobs in front of him, it's Makima who used her power, that's why she asked the mafia boss for the names of the people. The angel devil is responsible for the sword that Aki had, since he is able to reduce someone's lifespan by touching them. Power going all out and Denji leaving her alone will always make me laugh. But hey, Powy can defend herself (and also, she's super cute in the ending). Denji's dream at the end is the same as at the very beginning and this door is important. Generally speaking, Denji and the doors are a recurrence in the rest of the series. But not in the Vox Machina way, eh, it's not just the door to his dream that he shouldn't open or will regret opening. The girl at the end is important for what comes next, all I can say is she's a real bombshell and between Himena, Powy, Kobeni or Makima, a lot of people like this new girl too. Now, I would also like to talk about ending 11, Violence, by Queen Bee. Because I rediscovered Queen Bee a few months ago via a First Take video (a series on YouTube where artists perform one of their songs in a single take), but before this video, I had actually heard it here and in the opening of Dororo without knowing it. After learning about the group, I found Avu-chan, their singer, to be a true model of courage and affirmation. Avu and their sister (who is the drummer of the group), have African-American origins in addition to Japanese, which must have probably already given them certain looks at school (very few people of mixed race, especially black people in Japan). But beyond that, Avu identifies as male and female at the same time, providing yet another layer of their complexity and being outside of the norm that people would want. Being able to assert loud and clear who you are and rise to the top in Japan despite your origins and your difference, just thinking about it makes me envy their courage. Mappa is apparently getting a lot of bad feedback because the studio's animators are at their limit because of the ton of work the studio is pushing them to do for Jujutsu Kaisen. Very poor management of the schedule which means that certain episodes of season 2 were finished only a few hours before their broadcast... The thinking heads want to become as important as a big studio without neglecting quality, but to the detriment of employees. For example, JJK 0 was made in four months, while this kind of film takes at least a year if not more... In short, I hope that Mappa will rest a little, for the good of its animators.

So the first thing to clear up is that the Ghost Devil has no eyes - it sees a person’s fear - which means that when Aki dispatched it, he had none. He does not fear death, or anything, ergo, the Ghost had nothing to react to. Denji and Power stuck in an elevator, huh? Why do I get the feeling we could get an entire episode of material out of that, or more? Denji told Power to be quiet, they haven’t noticed us yet… dude, KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE. Although to be fair Power seems to be having a great time WITHOUT the audience… Notice that when Denji got off to face the Katana Devil he was on the thirteenth floor. Coincidence? If you know, you know. During the fight Denji’s accused of “living the good life,” and he’s been put through hell during this season but think about where we first found him. This is all child’s play by comparison. Questions remain, of course, as they always do. In the meantime, perhaps Denji’s (and also Power’s) brand of couldnt care less chaos is starting to rub off on Aki… Now regarding the future… first off, from what I’ve read the anime went into production once the manga was finished. They have all the plot material. As far as a season two, there’s definitely plans for it. No official dates have been set, however. Because, you might have noticed over the past little while, our animation friends over at Studio MAPPA have had quite a handful to work on… PS: I hope the next series is what I THINK it is. 👀 I can send you some information in direct messaging about it if you like, because there’s a few quirks to know about on that platform. I’ve mentioned some before but a refresher probably wouldn’t hurt.

Hi Melissa, I finally caught up with your CSM reaction. It really was a great journey. Unfortunately I don't know when S2 is supposed to come. I hope soon. The finale was really worth watching. I was really scared that Aki was going to die, he really is my favorite character. His relationship with Himeno was really special and her message with the cigarette was really sweet. The sibling relationship between Denji and Power is also very entertaining. Makima is a really interesting character, but I still get a chill down my spine when I see her. She makes me uncomfortable. Like you, I'm very curious to see what happens next.

Hi Leonie!! Yay! I'm so glad you enjoyed it too! I'm not sure either but yeah, hopefully soon. It didn't look great for Aki for a while there, did it? I love the message on the cigarette and that whole scene/concept in general! The Denji/Power bond is awesome and I agree that Makima is pretty frightening! RIP, Himeno. They really pay their final respects to her here. Deeply flawed but oh so human. Feel like Aki never feared the ghost devil because she’s too familiar…..his partner’s own contracted Devil after all. You remind me of my dearest friend why should I fear you? This was Aki’s ultimate power over the Ghost Devil. Kobeni continued to redeem herself, getting the jump on the Snake Devil user. She’s still sad & traumatized but at least back to functional…..

Hi Spadeas! :) It really was!!! Oh, really?!!?! Wow, I thought for sure she was in contract with the future devil! Thanks for clarifying about the people who got killed. Ohhh interesting about the sword. Hahaha Denji bailing on Power was amazing! LOL what is it with shows and doors! That's interesting though. Whoa, I can't wait to see what this new girl is all about! WOW!!!! Thank you for letting me know about Queen Bee and Avu! It's great that they can express themselves so freely!! Such an awesome look and voice too, wow! I want season 2 to get here quickly too. That's too bad about Mappa!!!! I feel bad for their animators. The quality has been amazing but the fact that the employees are treated so poorly is a big problem. JEEZ, four months?! That's crazy! I hope Mappa lets them take a break! I'd be willing to wait if it means the employees are being treated better.

Yeah seriously, compared to all Denji's been through, this is no big deal. LOL I think they're def starting to rub off on Aki! That's great that they don't have to wait for the manga to get caught up or anything! Yeah the Mappa situation is a bit of a hot mess right now, I get it! Hahah by now you know what the next series is, hope you love my reactions!!!!

To follow up on this, he was scared at first (we know this because the Ghost was fighting him, meaning it could see his fear), but the flashback of Himeno took his fear away. <3

Aki should be around 23 currently, but in that flashback he would've had to be 19 or younger, bc smoking age in Japan is 20. At least, as long as that was the smoking age back in the 90s when this series takes place.

Did you even notice the leg chainsaw? A lot of people miss it for some reason. I even missed it when I saw the episode, and I'd already seen it in the manga! We've never seen Denji make a chainsaw on his leg before, and that's what he used to slice katana man in half while he was focused on Denji's head chainsaw. They highlight his leg for like a full 5 seconds or more, but somehow it's still easy to miss.
