Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to episode 5 of Kamen Rider Gotchard!  OH WOW!!!!
What a treat for a wrestling fan like me!!!  I absolutely loved this ep for both the aesthetic and also for what it does for our plot.  Like Chemies can be malgams but good ones??  That's new!!
It was such a sweet story too, and the first one where we get to see all the student characters together.  I'm really looking forward to getting to know all these kids, and the story, better!  Can't wait for more!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

As I theorized! Chemy can't just become Malgam while they are in contact with human, they can also turn into something good with human good intentions! Oh! And I got my GotcharDriver!

Hi Hime :) I told you this episode would be a real game of catch lol The door of darkness and Master Glion, the one for whom the sisters work, bring grist to my mill for my theory. The growing friendship between Hotaro and Rinne is adorable. Seeing Rinne start cheering for Hotaro and coming to his defense against Spanner is cute. Goriki is played by Yukio Naya, who is indeed a truly Japanese wrestler, you're right. The importance of 10 for a good combo, I had already read it somewhere, notably that Ichinose and Kudoh had 1 and 9 in their name, so they both make a good combo. But yes, most of the forms it takes are by merging two cards which makes ten, so there will probably be a time when this rule will be broken for a super form. “It's also a gun” I suspected you would make the reference, that's what I told myself too. RWBY definitely left an impression on us for that. Finally, I had already said that I found Renge cute, but then if they also make her wear shorts exposing her legs, what am I going to do now lol. Well, afterward, I know that the actress who played her was also a "gravure idol" and therefore posed a lot in underwear and swimsuits, so I'm not going to complain about it personally. But yes, Gotchard remains quite classic and nice for the moment, which is refreshing after Geats, but that doesn't mean it won't turn 180° later, it wouldn't be the first time that a Kamen series Rider would do that.

Look show universe - she already was mad with power… and now you just decided to combine Kamen Rider with pro wrestling? There’s going to be no living with her after this…! 😅 Regarding things in the actual episode, first it does seem like the Abyssalis Sisters aren’t independent - they’re working for someone named Master Glion? And the Doir of Darkness is their target, and they need the Gotchardriver to open it… something tells me this’ll be revisited. Also this whole section if the plot… I don’t know WHY, but I’m getting a real Saber vibe from the villains’ section. Hotaro feels like Rinne helped him more than he helped her - I think he doesn’t realize that being able to support her emotionally while she was coming to terms with the news about her dad was what helped her get over it. Not all strength is in the power of your abilities. I was actually wondering about the card numbers. At first I thought they were like different identifiers, but apparently it indicates compatibility. Renge and Sabi (I think that’s iPad dude’s name) pointed out that the power of a team-up can quadruple in power if it’s compatible. Apparently, and thus wasn’t mentioned - every single combo Ichinose has used so far has the cards adding up to ten. “Getting two completely different people to trust each other…” “Hey, Hotaro’s name has a one in it and Rinne’s has a 9!” I don’t think the “adding up to 10” thing is exclusive to cards, at least I’m pretty sure that’s what the show is trying to say. 😉 😉 nudge nudge - I’m just gonna point out while Hotaro was training Rinne seemed to be the most invested in encouraging him to keep going. It seems Chemys turn into Malgams when they contact human malice, but the opposite of malice is benevolence - and it seems like the chemy is also capable of reflecting positive motives under the right circumstances. So what do we call that? Malgam spelled backwards is Maglam…? I dunno… Also, what’s that smooth-talking Spanner REALLY after? Also why do I get the feeling this whole thing about having to erase memories of any contact with a Chemy is going to come back in a big way… it’s not like this isn’t a topic that hasn’t been explored before… 👀 Also I’m sure that Hotaro’s mom is somehow gonna get roped into this at some point. Calling it now! 1000 yen on Kamen Rider fight in the kitchen, you heard it here first! 😆

Hi Spadeas! :) You were right! Yeah it's starting to add up isn't it? I love their friendship, isn't it sweet?? Oh yay, glad I was right! That's interesting about the significance of 10 for a combo right!! Hahahaha gotta love a good RWBY reference! Haha wasn't it nice to see them all outside the school in regular clothes and whatnot?? No kidding that she's an idol!!! Wow! I always forget that the swimsuit photo shoots are such a big part of the idol gig in Japan! That's the thing, it's very different from Geats so far but has a great fun feeling, and it's good to switch things up each series, I think!

I think you're right that the door stuff will play a big part. I can see the Saber vibes for sure! That's so true about the effect that Hotaro had on Rinne! Yeah the numbers are interesting, the explanation really makes the other combos add up more (no pun intended lol). Ohhhh haha yeah I can see why they pair together well, in more ways than one! I was wondering if they'd try to make a ship/love triangle situation here. I love that there's a reverse malgam!! Maglam would be so confusing though, especially trying to read the subs fast :/ Yeah I'm not so sure about Spanner! The whole erasing thing is familiar isn't it??? OMG Kamen Rider Mom!!!!!!! I'd watch that fight hahaha!!

I definitely see where you’re going with this. It makes sense. If the Malgams are influenced by human emotion then they must feel as humans do. Usually if I’m down in the dumps, I’m not feeling like talking. But being around someone so optimistic, they tends to rub off on me. And I’m able to spread that around to others as best as I can. And that all has to do with impact and feeling. And it makes me even more aware of how important influence by emotion is.

It does, doesn't it! It's so true that in a lot of ways we're products of our environment, or at the very least who/what we surround ourselves with has a great impact on our daily behavior. Well said Manny!!!
