Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to Red vs. Blue season 15, episodes 15 - 18!!! OMG!!!  The stuff with Grif was amazing in this episode!  I love seeing him get some character development, and it's hard not to crack up at the Castaway/impressions scene, as sad as it might be lol!  Also, LOCUS OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I did not see that coming at all!!!  I thought he might be seeking redemption, but showing up to help and be the absolute lethal tank of a guy he is in our favor this time....just wow!  Also, good thing we have some folks who can think like the other simulation troops lol....a giant drill, of course that's what it is!  Oh yeah and I am in FULL DENIAL MODE over Wash at the moment!  I demand that they give me my Wash back fully healed!!!
And now our crew is headed to Earth to kick some butt....let's gooooo!!!!!!!!  Great eps!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

I forget if it was Season 7 or 8, but at some point, I thought to myself "she really loves Wash, how is she gonna react when he gets shot?" And in the back of my mind I've been waiting ever since. Grif leaving the show was actually a reaction to his voice actor getting burned out by his other responsibilities at the company and taking a sabbatical, making him unavailable to record for long stretches of season 15. I imagine some of those lines about being sick of everything, especially when he left back in episode 6, were more meaningful to him. I've heard a lot of fans say they think the colony the Blues and Reds made starve to death was Locus's home. I don't think it's that complicated: Locus is looking for a cause. Anything righteous that he can do to be able to say, I'm on the right side. The second he finds Lopez, suddenly it's time to save the Blood Gulch teams. It also fits my image of Locus better for his heroic actions to be just as impersonal as his villainous ones. These are not the actions of a vengeful man, they're the actions of an ashamed one. A man so saddened by his past that he can't even kill when he really really needs to. If he'd gone through those Zealot sim troopers like a chainsaw through butter, like we all know he's capable of, Wash would be ok. But Locus has come to a place where he can't trust himself to take any life. I think I've said this a dozen times, but I really like Locus's story.

Almost forgot to comment! Season 15 Episode 15 was first showed off at RTX 2017. It was my first time ever attending, and I will never forget the feeling of watching it in the crowd. Even the way everything echoed in the room added to the experience, with Locus' "completely insane" line just being so gosh darn good. For that, Episode 15 will always be my favorite episode of this season.

My mind did not even go to last week’s thought about understanding Temple and where he was coming from, but you don’t do that. Especially not to Caboose. He’s lost someone, he should know how that feels like. Man that message sunk so badly in my heart. That bittersweet confirmation was a tough pill to swallow. It doesn’t get easy the second time around hearing he’s really gone. Also Wash! What happened there we were just starting to have fun?! Ya know what it’s okay because they’re coming here to take names for Wash and Church! 🌎

Thanks for stopping by to comment!! Whoa, that's amazing! I can see why it left such a lasting impression on you! What an experience!!

kamenriderhime

Exactly!!! Like I know Temple isn't without his reasons but Caboose is off limits!!! So true, like you think he'd have empathy about it, but then again, if he was processing it in a healthy way, we wouldn't be here lol. I know....I really thought they were gonna pull out another resurrection for him. But yeah, this is it. :/ WASH!!!!! I know!!! They always do this, it's all fun and games until it isn't! That's right, they're on their way!!!!!!!!!! XD

This batch was so good! I knew it was Locus the second he fazed in next to Lopez’s head, he had to come back at some point. Grif kinda going Castaway without everyone there was hilarious, especially him learning Spanish for Lopez. XD Wash being loopy was hilarious, but it sucks it got him shot. Really curious how they’re going to end the season cause I don’t know anything story wise, except I may have known Locus would come back, can’t remember if I’d seen or heard that somewhere.

kamenriderhime

It was!! Oh wow you guessed it fast!! The Castaway stuff was great lol! Hahahaha the Spanish part just killed me! Awww I know, loopy Wash was fun but it was awful to see him get shot. Ooohh I hope you enjoy the ending!!!

I love this set of episodes. The Grif stuff is the best part of the season for me. I was never that into Star Trek but I very much appreciate the opening of episode 15 being a reference especially because of the great visuals. Seeing half crazy Grif is equal parts hilarious & really sad. I love the development here while we see the reenactments of how sorry he is because he didn’t help especially when it comes to Simmons & Caboose. The impressions he does of the other characters kills me it’s shockingly good. Hearing Locus’s voice again was amazing when this was originally coming out especially seeing him again as you say so soon not expecting it. The animation of Grif touching Locus’s face is just the best LOL. The way Grif is talking so fast & how he’s using words while he’s I can only describe as being loopy is amazing especially the voice acting. I love that 1 of the guys can finally understand Lopez. I love the questions he asks Locus especially when it randomly gets dark it’s hilarious because it’s shocking. You have to feel bad for Locus realizing that doing the right thing can be hard/annoying. I love episode 16. We can see Temple continuing to manipulate and unfortunately that is easy when it comes to Sarge. I honestly love how Grif is imagining himself as an action hero on this mission. Temple being cruel to Caboose with how he tells them they were lying is a rough and sad scene but I do think it’s a good thing Caboose learned about it while his friends are around to be there for him. I agree he’s more intelligent than people give him credit for this was just something he didn’t understand. Everything Grif was doing being a diversion is a good revelation. It’s hard to hear Wash & Carolina sounding so weak. I liked what you said about Temple doing this from his own place of grief just doing it in a terrible way. I love episode 17. Everything Washington says while delirious is hilarious because of how ridiculous & I love how it breaks up the more serious tone the voice actor was killing it. My favorite joke was the big bird one. Sarge deciding to do the right thing & his request here it’s hilarious but strangely wholesome with how sorry he felt for what he did. Also if that’s not begging then I want to know what is LOL. I would have liked RT to release his real name after the episode & make it the most unhinged thing ever. I love the interactions Locus has with all the insanity of our guys because of his stoic nature. I think what happens with Sarge in this episode is 1 of if not the best moments finally being able to admit he was wrong/made a mistake for 1 of the 1st times. I really love that they continue the theme of people being able to change even after doing bad things with the moment between Carolina and Locus. I completely understand why Tucker went charging ahead because of his emotions taking over it's just unfortunate it ended up hurting his friend. The kneecaps dialogue from Locus is very Terminator of him. What happens to Wash was so shocking especially because if he isn’t people’s favorite character I am willing to bet he is at least a top 5 character for most. I completely understand you going denial mode especially with how much you love his character. Others said this but loopy Washington was fun until it wasn’t. This happening is another good reason they have Locus here so they can get Washington to a hospital as fast as possible. I think it’s amazing & funny that they end up using Sarge logic to figure out the plans of the Blues & Reds. Like you I like how meta Vic talking about how serious things have gotten. I love that after what he has realized this season Grif is the one to get Tucker out of his own head after what just happened. I like how episode 18 ended with an awesome speech to rally everyone together. Awesome reaction & thoughts and keep up the great work. :-) <3

Glad you could enjoy the Star Trek reference! I know, it's kinda funny but also really sad to see Grif this way! The impressions were SO good and omg the face touching haha! I know, we finally have someone who can understand Lopez! I know, it was awful to see Caboose realize it this way, through Temple's harshness, but probably a good thing overall that he faces the truth. Seeing Wash and Carolina like that was rough! I'm glad you liked what I said about Temple! OMG Wash's VA just kills it here during the "delirious" dialogue haha, I'm such a huge fan of his! The bird one hahahaha! For real about the begging lol!!! I knoooowww I wanna know his real name too! Seeing Locus interact with this crew is really something. Oh I know, admitting he was wrong is such a rare thing for Sarge. The idea of redemption is really well done in characters like Locus and Carolina for sure. I know, it was too bad how things turned out because of Tucker, but I get it too. Oh I can see the Terminator vibes for sure! Oh yeah Wash is definitely in the top for most people I think, so this was such a huge deal. I went straight to denial mode! Exactly, it was fun until it wasn't! :/ It is a good thing Locus was there. Hahaha the use of Sarge logic was so fun and ironic! Yeah Vic was getting pretty meta. The speech was so great, you've gotta love a good speech on this show!!! So happy you enjoyed my reaction, and sorry again for taking forever to write back!!!
