Hey everyone! I'm back with season 2, episode 2 of Legend of Vox Machina!  Our crew is on their way to getting some answers!  I guess it comes as no surprise that all the big wigs of Vasselheim don't wanna get involved, that adds up.  Slayer's Take was an interesting ride, with a little blast from the past for Vax and Vex, and finally some help from their patron (after some messing with the mind, of course).  Even Grog got some soul-searching done apparently!!  And there we have it - we're off to get some vestiges!!!  Oh yeah, and who is the creepy figure who keeps appearing???
Guess we'll find out...!!  Great ep - enjoy!  ~ MH

Hi Hime :) The chroma conclave is made up of four dragons, each with their particularity: Thordak: Fire Umbrasyl: Acid Riashan: Poison Vorugal: Ice You have already been able to see them in action, they are already dangerous in solo, so with four... Also sad news, the actor behind the voice of Thordak, Lance Reddick, passed away last March. This season 2 and John Wick 4 are among these latest works. Also, Thordak spitting fire going from a simple flame to a kind of plasma ray, reminded me of Godzilla, having seen Shin Godzilla shortly before the series, I couldn't help but make the comparison lol. For the intro, as far as it seems to me it is identical. But the same I didn't rewatch the one from season 1 to compare ^^. You'll see it soon enough, but the "vestiges" are super rare kinds of equipment that give powers to face gods. You can easily imagine that there must be a vestige for each member, that's what happens in most adventures of this kind, so you're on your way to a great journey. And of course, as you could see with Grog and Osysa's remarks, and as you mentioned it yourself, the quest for vestiges will be accompanied by a personal quest for Vox Machina. Season 1 has already done it for Percy and Pike, this time it will be the turn of other members of the team. But yeah, fortunately the humor remains present, because this season is already going to be very hard for our heroes.

It’s great to see everyone again! I couldn’t say that in the first episode. No time to say because it’s just destruction and gore everywhere. 😬 I thought the dragons would be simply hardcore awesome dragons that take orders but they’ve built their own clan. Moreover they’re creatures seeking reign and treasure like humans do. I thought that gave them a scarier edge. They can take everything they want and they know it. 🐉 I don’t know what it means but I’m hoping that moment was good for Grog. Everyone tends to have their own thing going on so I’m at least glad he also has his own little life adventure.

kamenriderhime

I know!! Exactly right - we really hit the ground running! And they didn't spare the violence, sheesh! Yeah the dragons have really built something here. I definitely think that gives them a scarier edge - that they have an agenda and potential for greed, etc.! Yeah I'm not sure how the Grog stuff will come back in the story, but I'm sure it will! And it's nice that he did his own thing for a bit for sure!

Hi Spadeas! :) Oooh thanks for the info! They're very scary! Oh no, that is sad news!!! I'm sorry to hear it! Oh ok, that's what I thought, but I honestly couldn't remember the intro, oops! I can't wait to see the vestiges! I'm sure it will be quite the quest in general, as well as for our crew individually! I can't wait for some more character development! Yikes, I know things are gonna get real! I'm excited but scared lol!

First, yes, this is a 12-episode season, so you can plan accordingly around that. Come on, you knew there were goi g to be hijinks involved when Keyleth said she’d never seen the tree, and then there was a lot of erm… random describing… Btw I did forget to mention that the dragons do like to talk about themselves in the third person last episode. You also mentioned the sphinx neglecting to twist the knife when addressing Scanlan… “no one cares about you” is probably the harshest thing for an attention addict like him. Also. Less we say about his “pillows,” probably for the best. Everyone says they are working for the greater good, until they actually have to do something… just another example of Hoban nature. What, we actually have to lift a finger when it’s not our problem? No thanks… Also, Grog is having a deep, meaningful conversation with his fists and getting nowhere… The sphinx said they’d run into her mate, who she must stay apart from. Something to think in mind. Oh, and you’re not ready for the next episode… or I could just me stringing you along… right? 🤭

kamenriderhime

Cool, that will work out well! True, I should have known! Oh good note about dragons talking in the third person. Yeah, that was a low blow to poor Scanlan! I really don't wanna ask more questions about the pillows!! Sadly, it's true that many don't feel the need to do anything unless it concerns them directly. Grog is getting some character development, that's cool! Yeah I heard that line about the mate, curious about that. Ahhhhh aren't I paranoid enough lol?! Something tells me either way I'm not prepared!

This is an interesting episode, cause in the campaign the party had actually been to Vasselheim and visited the Slayer’s Take at least once before Percy’s arc in Whitestone, which we had last season. So they basically combined the first & second visits to Vasselheim here. Which of course means that we’re being introduced to Kashaw and Zahra later than in the campaign, so they decided to change their dynamic with the party here to make it more interesting for people who have and haven’t watched the campaign before. And at the very end we got a small cameo from the best NPC of the Vox Machina story, Victor! He is absolutely hilarious, anytime Matt Mercer would play him during the game everyone would be cracking up! XD

kamenriderhime

Oh no kidding! That's interesting, sounds like they had to do some maneuvering to tell the story! Oh nice, Victor!! Hahaha!! He seems pretty fun!!! I love that they got such a kick out of him during the game too!!!! XD

Cody

I’m really curious how else they’ll change things, cause this arc is like half the campaign, like 55 episodes. And they obviously can’t show all the minor stuff that happened, for example in my double checking episode count I was reminded that the party actually went back to Brimscythe’s (Tennant dragon from last season) lair and fought some giant worm things, then the ceremony happened and the Conclave attacked.

kamenriderhime

Oh wow! Yeah I'm not sure how much they plan on telling or skipping then. That's so interesting that they went back and had another fight with Brimscythe before the Conclave story!!!
