Hey everyone!  Here I am with Jojo season 2, episode 34!!!  Wow, I had no clue what Jotaro was up to right up to the end!!!  I knew it must have something to do with the "mental" giving up though!  Dang!!!!!  Talk about a dangerous game - I think pretty much every character's soul was on the line, sheesh!!!  It's a good thing Jojo didn't look at the cards and get scared lol :P  Wow, that was WAY too tense!!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Hello Melissa, thank you for the great episodes. They are my late birthday present. I turned 20 on Saturday and I also share my birthday with our beloved Caesar Zeppeli. He would have been 105 years old on Saturday. We all miss him very much. I really wanted to thank you again for making me happy every week with your videos. I just found your channel on Youtube by accident and I don't regret joining your Patreon a bit.❤️ Darby, or as Joseph likes to call him Barbie-kun🤣, is a really dangerous stand user. He has a great deal of knowledge and talent when it comes to gambling and is good at analyzing his opponents. But even he's no match for Jotaro. Jotaro's strategy is so simple yet successful. Regarding to your question in the first video of the arc. After Part 2 I accepted Jojo's crazy and bizarre events. I was expecting bizarre things in Jojo though because it says so in the title. But what was finally shown in the anime completely exceeded my expectations. I was looking forward to every further episode of jojo, because most of the time I could never guess what happened next. And I can definitely tell you one thing: From Part 4 on it gets even more bizarre and crazy.😉

Hi Hime :) I had a phase where I didn't necessarily assume to be a fan of Jojo, but now that the series is well known and appreciated, we don't really have to hide our love for the series anymore :). Jojo IS weird in so many ways, but the writing, the characters, the universe, the concept, the creativity, that's what's hooked me and hasn't let me go since, and that was before this anime version doesn't exist, to tell you how good the manga is already. I'll come back to it again, but it's THIS fight that inspired the author of Yu-Gi-Ho, especially the poker game. The fact of betting his soul, of having an intense fight just based on cards, of believing in the soul of the cards. You can clearly see that it marked him. Even if we have a good demonstration of Joseph, clearly, Jotaro pulls out of the game in this double episode. His nerves of steel (not to say anything else of steel lol), getting inside his opponent's head, the pressure he puts on D'arby, the very essence of Jotaro's mental toughness demonstrated in just a few minutes. For reference, I don't know if there is a specific one, but movies, novels and the like that talk about betting your soul with the devil are legion.

Okay, first let me address… the mysterious haunted attic… where things are moving without explanation clearly. I would like to point out the birthday girl’s action figure in the back left might have been seen casting her Semblance during training during your intro. So yeah, that must be it. You asked earlier, but Holly had 50-60 days when the curse started, so my guess is we’re looking at under a week by now given the timeframe. What you are witnessing here is basically the game within the game of poker, where it isn’t just reading the cards dealt it’s also about reading the people. This is where the term “poker face” comes from. By the way… are you good at this game? Somehow I get the feeling it might be a little hard for you to keep information off your facial expressions… no real reason I’m thinking that. 😅 D’Arby states after the first round that Jotaro has a strong expression which he correctly reads as a strong hand, as opposed to nothing to write about. This is him reading what we call a “tell,” when a person looks at their cards and their face reacts to what they see. This is why poker players try so hard to look stoic. Two things threw him off: when he didn’t look at the cards at all, which is something nobody does under any normal circumstances in a game, and when he was called upon to give out DIO’s secret, which was the first time he realized he was wagering his own life. What Jotaro is doing is called a bluff. It’s basically taking the fact you know someone is reading your expressions and you’re giving them false information. Think of it like… well, when we know what’s coming up in the next episode of one of your shows and we are acting all “nothing to see here.” Basically Jotaro did something like that, but when he got so cool and casual it basically psyched D’Arby out to the point his logic couldn’t take anymore and he folded. And after that, I still don’t think we know where the blasted building is, do we? All that work for nothing. 😅 Yada yada, indeed…

I loved these two episodes. This was fun. Geez imagine losing Kakyoin and Hollys souls. They’re not even there 😭 Amazing that not knowing what chance you have may save your skin from yourself. I knew Jotaro was smart but man that takes guts to pull that off. Very high risk but things have to be dealt sometimes lol. I’m excited for more ♥️♦️♠️♣️🃏

Hi!! Oh my gosh, happy belated birthday!! Hope you had a great one! Oh my goodness, that's amazing that you share a birthday with Caesar!! <3 We all miss him so much, indeed :( Awww you are so welcome and thank YOU!! I'm so glad you enjoy my reactions, I really enjoy making them and always look forward to your comments! :) Thanks for being so kind and positive!!! Hahaha Barbie-kun!!!! Joseph is using some little-kid-grade-school tactics there :P He is dangerous though. So true, Jotaro's plan was very basic but incredibly smart and effective. Thanks for sharing your Jojo journey details with me! That makes sense! I know how you feel, I get so excited to watch every week! I can't believe it's gonna get more bizarre, omg!!!! Haha can't wait!!

kamenriderhime

Hi Spadeas! :) That's great!!! It's nice to be able to publicly appreciate it haha. That's the thing, the weirdness is balanced out so much by all the other things that make the series great! I'm sure the manga is amazing. No kidding about this being the inspiration for Yu-Gi-Oh!!!! I can totally see it! Hahaha I mean the nerves are just one of many steely things about Jotaro lol!! Jotaro is a mental powerhouse for sure. Right, there's so many soul-related horror/myths out there!!! I'm sure this was based on many things as opposed to one movie/franchise!

kamenriderhime

It was a lot of fun right!! LOL I know right, like can you imagine how their ears must be ringing :P That's so true, you're not only psyching out your opponent, but avoiding being psyched out yourself!!! Super high risk but he pulled it off magnificently!!!! I can't wait either!!!

kamenriderhime

Hahahaha I mean, what even was that?! It had to be the birthday queen :P Wow, we've come a long way during Stardust Crusaders. HAHAHHA as a matter of fact I am not good at this game, nor do I have a good poker face :P However did you guess?!?!?! Ohhh well Jotaro's face is always stoic like that, so it worked out lol. That makes sense about what tripped D'arby up, as well as the bluff. I've heard the phrase calling your bluff, this must be where it comes from! He completely psychologically destroyed D'arby!!!! LOL that's true, we still have no info on the building :P Oops!!!!

org 90s D'Arby, relevant scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAM3enge50Q and if there's any other scene you wanna see from the JoJo's first adaptation, lemme know and I'll either find it (or failing that, upload it myself. :D XD )

kamenriderhime

OMG!!!! That was amazing haha, honestly it's done pretty well and D'arby's VA is really earning his paycheck here lol!!!! I think I'll hold off on more clips cause I'm thinking I might try to do a reaction to things like the OVA, the Part 4 live action movie, etc. when I wrap up Part 6. I also hear there was a Phantom Blood OVA but it seems like no one's able to track it down???
