Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to episode 8 of the third season of The Mandalorian!!!!  AHHHHHHHHHHHH you guys it was so good!  Din, Bo and Grogu all fighting Moff Gideon!!!  Grogu using the Force on the flames!!!  Mandalorians reunited!!!!  It feels like everyone got a happy ending here.  I'm so proud of Bo!!
And even IG-11 lived, and became protector of Navarro!  And Din is officially GROGU'S DADDY!!!!!!!!!!  OMG!!!!  I also love that Din is the off-the-records go-to guy for the New Republic now....should be interesting as we inch our way closer to the First Order!  What an awesome season and a great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

You know, something occurred to me when this episode started… in Star Wars, have you ever noticed that the comms always work EXCEPT when someone REALLY needs them to? And there is another little tidbit that kind of had me laughing hysterically when I realized it… do you know what R5 really is? (Other than an MVP?) He’s the droid version of Zenitsu from Demon Stayer, cause he never wants to do any of this stuff but gets it done anyway. I am still very confused about why Gideon specifically wanted Din, was he just being petty or something? It just backfired on him and I really don’t understand the reasoning. You know, when we got to the caves and stuff was growing it occurred to me what we heard in the RvB batch: “life finds a way.” Only this time it wasn’t slow motion and sarcastic - good things do come to those who genuinely want them. Moff Gideon might’ve been able to replicate the technology and the weapons that the Mandalorians use, but they’re still just artificial reproductions of the real thing. You can’t replicate a Mandalorian’s training, resolve, and sheer will. Speaking of the Mandalorians they seem to be relaxing some of their hang-ups… like retreating to gain an advantage, for one.A good example if this I should stop and point out Axe was staying on the ship to make it look inhabited, that’s why he didn’t leave earlier, he had to sell the illusion so they wouldn’t suspect anything. They also seem to be less recoiling of the idea some remove their helmets (which seems like kind of a trivial thing to argue this much over.) You know, whenever Grogu is in danger you should just look at the book for this series: “If Grogu is in danger and about to be killed, protocol dictates that this is just a setup for him to do something epic.” I have ONE question… is Moff Gideon’s suit flame retardant? Inquiring minds want to know. Also, he’s such a good villain that you don’t want to kill him off unless you truly have no more ideas on how to use him as a story writer. 👀 Even though the Darksaber isn’t in one piece, we still managed to It’s interesting that when we returned to the starport we did not see Zeb there this time. He must’ve started already? Anyway, we left off with a chunk of land and a front porch… things could’ve been a lot worse. Though I get the feeling you don’t stay in one place too long.. So I wonder what will be next for this group? I’m sure whatever it is will be interesting. I wonder if there will be any tie in with other series later? So, will Bad Batch be taking the Mandalorian slot straight up, I presume, starting next week? That’s all for now from Mandalore, but I get the feeling we haven’t seen the last of these characters… HEY PUT THE FROG DOWN! I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of Din, Bo or Grogu. But for now, they have stuff to do, and it’s time to turn in the vacation days. 😉 It’s goodbye for now to them, though. This is the way.

Yay it’s officially! I always thought it was but it’s officially official Din’s his father! That end was so sweet and needed because of everything Din’s been through. Everything just feels right at the end. I’m super proud of Bo and I’m so happy IG-11 continues on protecting. That droid from season 1 episode 1 is a favorite of mine now. He has a special place in my heart. That ending was just too sweet. It’s nice knowing their both just taking it easy rn

I know!!! Me too, now we've just made it official!!! Doesn't it just feel like a nice happy ending?! Yes, Bo was awesome! And we even got IG-11 back!!! Awwww yay!! Yeah you can't ask for a much better ending than just chilling on the porch :D

kamenriderhime

LOL you know what, I've never even realized that the comms trope was a trope :P HAHAHAHAHAH omg R5 is totally Zenitsu!!! Omg!!! I can never unsee it!! Maybe it was just revenge for Moff, I'm also not sure what the specific reason was that he captured Din. Oh thanks for clearing that up about staying on the ship, and also about the Mandalorians relaxing on some things. I know, I think some progress has been made on the helmet thing too! I know, Grogu in danger is always just a setup to him doing something awesome, but I still worry! That's the thing, that armor was PRETTY spiffy....maybe it was flame resistant? Yeah good thinking to not take him out in a really permanent way! I love that we left them just chilling on the porch lol, but true, it's most likely just a breather before the next big adventure. I know, we could do anything from here!!! We wrapped up this story pretty neatly. Yes, Bad Batch starts next week! So I'll be doing Bad Batch season 2, then Legend of Vox Machina season 2, then Ahsoka XD Hahaha poor frog!! This is the way :'D

I loved Gideon as a villain, but I do hope this is the last of him. Let him go out on a high note instead of overstaying his welcome. I get why they broke the Darksaber but I still hope that it can be fixed somehow, it has such a history and it’s so cool. And Grogu holding back the fire made me so emotional, it calls back to the s1 finale and shows how much stronger he is. He didn’t fall asleep afterwards this time!

kamenriderhime

I hear you, it's nice to end on a high note, and the whole less is more thing! Yeah we'll see about the darksaber, I agree that it made sense for this story, but there's always a way to bring things back I suppose! Awwww yes, the scene with the fire was SO emotional!!!! He's come so far, our little baby!!!! He didn't, he looked sleepy but he stayed awake lol. So proud :D

Axe was an absolute beast this episode, is he replacing Paz Viszla as the guy we grumble a bit about, but who is an absolute boss? He won me over thats for sure! The action and fight scenes in this one (and it was pretty much purely an action episode) were spot on, with good choreography and great cinematography too, especially in the shots where they are fighting in the air. Also great this episode was seeing Din and Grogu back helping each other, akin to the earlier seasons; this felt like a return to season 1 for them, and it was all very touching, especially when Din formally adopts Grogu as his own. So sweet. My god do I love TIE Interceptors, my favourite ships in all Star Wars. I had a red one in Star Wars : Galaxies back in the day, and terrorised the galaxy in it! I do wonder where they all went to after bombing the cruiser though, as they don't have hyperdrives (nor do the bombers I don't think). Its a bit of a shame we never got more ship-to-ship action here, but the main focus understandably was on taking down Gideon personally. R5 being as brave as a lion when its clearly scared stiff, but carries out Din's orders anyway. Can't wait to watch A New Hope again sometime, I'll salute him when I see him there, as I will Owen and Aunt Beru for their heroism in Kenobi! The vanity from Gideon is quite impressive, you have to admit; as he tries to clone himself with force powers, only adding to his ego. You can see Giancarlo Esposito is having a tonne of fun hamming it up in the role; he's enjoying himself as much as Ian McDiarmid doing Darth Sidious in Revenge Of The Sith! Great fun. :) Grogu (or Din-Grogu as we will have to start calling him) fought here like a Jedi, defensively, never for attack. He has adopted some of Luke's teachings, as well as becoming a Mandalorian. Will he become the next Tarre Viszla? Speaking of Tarre, I'm glad the Darksabre is gone now, it will put an end to what has become a tedious debate about ownership of it (heard some say Luke was the wielder of it when he never even touched the blade, like its the Elder Wand from Harry Potter!). When in the end, it was only still just a lightsabre, and the Mandalorians have realised again, that they don't need it to rebuild their world. I was certain when we saw that Jonah, Ragnar, get baptised for a second time, that the bloody Mythosaur was going to eat him; however, he got through the ceremony without being threatened from a giant monster for once! Grogu senses the Mythosaur, and his sensing of it, seemed to stir the creature. Will we see it in season 4? Who knows. Damnit Filoni, get to work on that film of yours, stop being a barfly you magnificent s.o.b! :D The ending seemed like Din was happy just to go back to hunting scum, this time of the imperial kind, whilst chilling and teaching Din-Grogu the tenets of the creed. Its showing him and his son will have some relative peace - they've earned it - for the time being. One feels they'll be called back into the grander struggle against the nascent First Order - and Thrawn - sooner than later. Oh and its hilarious they replaced Gina Carano with a animatronic/stop motion droid. Reminds me of the South Park episode when they killed off Chef in the most brutal way imaginable, after they made fun of Scientology and Chef's actor didn't like it. ;) All in all, a nice end to a solid season. Next up, our magnificent Lady Tano!!

kamenriderhime

Hahaha Axe might be taking that role for sure! I couldn't agree more about the action. I know, the Din/Grogu stuff was soooo sweet, I loved it! The TIE Interceptors are quite impressive, aren't they! Not a whole lot of ship action in this one, you're right. Awww R5 totally deserves that salute! He was a boss! Oh I can totally see the fun that the actor is having with the role of Gideon here!!! It's a very entertaining performance! Very similar to what Ian McDiarmid does for my buddy Palpatine :P Din-Grogu!!! Yes he did fight like a Jedi, he's grown so much right? He has a combination of Jedi and Mandalorian ideals, it's interesting. Hahah wow that's a lot of arguing over the dark saber, it's probably best that it's gone! I think it served an ever better purpose by proving that it was just a symbol for something bigger, like you said. Hahahha that would have been so surprising if the Mythosaur had eaten them!!!!!!! Hmm, maybe we'll see more of it! Hahahahaha Dave is blowing off some steam between making the movie I guess! I'm so glad we ended on a peaceful note here, but there's definitely some stuff coming for sure! OMG, I can see how they did a Chef-esque ending for Gina Carano's character :P I cannot wait for Ahsoka!!! I wish it was coming out today! It literally can't come soon enough for me! My Bear and I are ready :P

Its going to be interesting to see where they take this show next. We might not even see it for a few years as they explore other content and expand on the things going on in this timeline. This could benefit it though as we could then have an older Din teaching Din-Grogu and see the finishing of his Mandalorian teachings, and perhaps it would give the chance for them to make a new puppet to show him physically growing and perhaps beginning to speak. Favreau has said they have no end in sight for the show, so it will be fun seeing where they go, and how much Mando and Grogu's story will fit in with the bigger story as the imps become a bigger threat once more. A lot of people like the Darksabre, and I get it, its a good way of telling a story with an object and the people who wield it; but it was beginning to get a bit out of hand imo, so I can see why they got rid - unless the Kyber crystal is still in tact and a new sabre could be made for Grogu! ;) Yes Ahsoka-bear needs dusting off, her time is nearly upon us! :D

kamenriderhime

I agree! I'd love to see that. I'm so glad there are many adventures ahead! That's the thing, I think it needed to stop here, as cool as it is. Oooohhhhh now there's an idea!!!! I'd love that! Ahsoka Bear is ready, and so am I!!!!!
