Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to RWBY Vol. 9, ep 9!!!!  So we have a lot more of the pieces starting to come together, including confirmation of what you guys have been saying for ages, that Lewis was the one who survived and wrote the book!  So then did Alyx die, or.....is she still here somehow?  Also, it was nice to see the group have a moment, but I wish Ruby could have been there!  :(((((  It seems like they're starting to fully realize a bigger picture with this whole Ever After situation.  And meanwhile, Ruby is on her own journey...will she become someone else?  Will she become Summer?!?!?!  I don't know, but I want her to feel something other than this pain!!!!  I just don't know how they're gonna wrap this up....!!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

I agree with you that Ruby's ultimate choice will be to keep being Ruby; I doubt the show would end a volume about identity with the message to be someone other than yourself. But also, I don't think Ruby's ever really tried being Ruby. To this point, she's only ever tried to be her idealized vision of Summer or a fairy-tale hero. I think the Blacksmith is trying to guide her toward discovering for herself that there's a lot of her own self left to explore. Some viewers didn't care for the "mood whiplash" of the happy moment at the village so soon after what Ruby did, but I have thoughts about that: 1. Per the dialogue, they don't believe Ruby's dead, just taken to the Tree, so as the shock wears off, they're not in mourning, just regrouping to figure out what to do next. For that, they'll need clear heads. 2. Also, it's probably healthy for them not to dwell on what they may have lost, and the Genial Gems and Jaune's epiphany provide a momentary break from crisis mode that they all need. 3. As these are trained fighters, it's possible that training even included how to deal with a team member going MIA, and that a few seconds of giving/receiving comfort in a safe moment may be part of that. 4. And with the exception of a couple shots, it plays as a teary, bittersweet moment even amid the smiles. 5. Finally, though it's not explicit, I think the sight of the ascended Pleasers gives Weiss and Jaune some assurance that whatever happens to Ruby will probably be for the better. If only Ruby could see what others see in her... Blake and Yang got that sort of opportunity in the Punderstorm. It'd be great if the team, even without an unbuilt bridge, let Ruby know all the good they see in her and how she's made their lives better. But on the other hand, I think the show would have Ruby look not backward to who she's been, but ahead to who she's going to be, as her motivation.

I'm sure others have already pointed this out, but when we first see the Blacksmith Lady this episode she's making a mouse head ;) Additionally I love how gentle the Blacksmith Lady is with Ruby. She knows Ruby doesn't know what she wants and is so so so gentle with her to let her know that it's okay that she doesn't know and to present her with options and letting Ruby make an informed choice. With Ruby's ascension being so closely paralleled with su-c-de, it's so super important to remember that a vast majority of those who have survived an attempt have regretted going through with it in the first place. She'll come through stronger in the end, with a better understanding of herself, her mom, and the world around her.

Hi Hime :) Finally, we not only have a visual, but also the voice of Summer Rose, the STQR team is finally complete. In my opinion, Ruby is going to have a conversation with her mother in the next episode. She has this image of Summer as the ideal huntress, that discussing or seeing how her mother really was will put Ruby's life in perspective. Something that I find poetic is that Ruby is literally a rose that needs to bloom now, since she is vegetal in a sense. For Alyx, the cat killed her, but we don't really die here, we go back to the tree. Alyx's last wish was to FIX her mistakes, starting with SAVING Jaune. As a result, we can imagine that she became either the blacksmith, who repairs everyone, or Juniper who saved Jaune. It would be pretty cute if Alyx had been by Jaune's side all this time. For Little, knowing that the blacksmith was making a mouse mask, I can see her becoming part of Crescent Rose, with no doubt a touch of Penny in it, to always guide Ruby and inspire her. I had theorized on the fact that the ever after could be linked to a vault, the exit as seen here still looks pretty much like what could be a vault. Now, I would think of the one housing the relic of choice, especially with the blacksmith who offers the choice to Ruby, in a circle, which can evoke a crown. Ozpin was in charge of this one, he said his vault wasn't so easy to find and there were still some surprises left. I can imagine the blacksmith being a creation of Ozpin to protect the crown. But anyway, we will have our answers next Saturday, April 22, my birthday, coincidentally.

It just kills me to watch Yang collapse… after hearing it from Ruby herself that Yang raised her… Yang has put Ruby’s needs ahead of her own for so long… the volume 8 talk between the two of them where Yang breaks down but pulls herself together to be able to comfort Ruby comes to mind…. To see Yang break down… “what if she isn’t Ruby anymore”… just kills me… I hope we get a long reunion with everyone next episode.

In a perverse way Ruby was right about one thing she said. She is not enough. But not in the way that she thinks that she's not enough. She isn't enough to take on the burden. She isn't enough to take on the responsibility. She isn't enough to take on the guilt. That burden, that responsibility, that guilt needs to be shared, and I hope that Ruby learns this.

Since this episode is a lot shorter than the others, maybe my thoughts won’t be as long-winded… but as I’m writing this I can’t make that promise! 😂 By the time you read this, it’ll be the previous day, but quick birthday shout out to the Japanese dub VA for Blake, who also does the lines for Annie on Attack on Titan and Ichi from Mob Psycho 100 (the reporter girl). Boy, if you thought you were talking and rambling during the reaction you should’ve seen what the discourse areas of RWBY related material were like over the past week leading up to this episode. 😂 So, the first thing to point out would be that we finally have Summer Rose’s voice in the actual show. We’ve seen her model but this is the first time she’s actually spoken. The scene is key for several reasons: she’s reading the fairy tale they’re currently dealing with, and Ruby has said that one of the main reasons she wanted to be a Huntress in the first place was because of the stories in the books - this is her silently being influenced while she’s sleeping. Also the emblem that Ruby gave up for the leprechaun nose hairs to make her friends big again is being worn on her mother’s neck. Alright, I have a tangent. We all saw what Ruby did at the end of the last chapter and there’s no need to revisit all that analysis here…. But I have a gripe with the storytelling direction here as her teammates all escape the mansion, and return to the aftermath of the Paper Pleasers’ village. Jaune is having a hard time understanding what the Ever After wants as he’s lost many different friends to it, Ruby being the latest. Here’s the tangent: THIS IS THE ONLY TIME ANYONE EVEN MENTIONS THE EVENTS OF THE PREVIOUS EPISODE. Some people have suggested that it might be denial, or shock, which is totally understandable, but it’s like… your leader just did that and all of you seem like you’re just carrying on like hardly anything of note happened. I really, really wish we had gotten even an extra MINUTE of them at least TRYING to process what they just saw before we just moved on to the next point. I am normally not terribly critical of the writing or story choices, I think they do a great job for the most part - but not having the group at least try to come to terms a bit before getting context feels like a GHASTLY oversight where the story is concerned. Moving on, Jaune’s questioning was interrupted by a familiar shape, but sturdier. To make a long story short, the Paper Pleasers returned from their ascension as the Genial Gens, a much more durable form so they can continue their work, and it’s at this point Jaune realizes his desire to protect them was actually stopping them from becoming what they needed to be: they came back from the tree BETTER than when they went in. While she has one flawed line of dialogue I’ll point out later, Weiss is really being the rock for the team while Ruby’s having an… identity crisis, for lack of a better term. She tells Jaune that losing isn’t failure, and that he has nothing to be ashamed of. I would like to stop here and out in a snide comment, I finally get a White Knight moment and then Bumbleby had to go and crash the group hug? You had your turn already, let me have this one!! 😂 Okay seriously though, Weiss is definitely saying this to Jaune for his benefit, but I think it’s also the girl is a quick study. She’s making sure not to make the same mistake twice. The things she’s saying to him are also words that she probably wishes she had told to Ruby as well, given where we are with her now. If Ruby had felt more appreciated, perhaps she wouldn’t have been in such a defeated state of mind. It’s another case of perception vs. reality because we know everyone of them would drop what they’re doing for her in a heartbeat but they rarely said it to her. Sometimes people need to hear the words out loud. Which is why Weiss is making sure Jaune does. Anyway, when Jaune comes to terms with his own failure as not an actual loss but a part of the cycle, they’re then whisked off to the tree where they first find a wooden cocoon of Herb… and then one of Ruby. Yang is desperate to get her out but Jaune suddenly realizes the reason they were able to get to the tree is acceptance. As Herb hatches now with the ability to fly via butterfly wings, Yang is somewhat hysterical worried that Ruby won’t be herself when she comes out. But the others are starting to realize it’s not their choice to make. Ruby needs to decide what she is going to be for herself. Speaking of Ruby, she’s entered a sort of temporal displacement and has met the Blacksmith again. Ruby is a little confused and asks if they’re the tree. The answer is yes, but the smith also says that’s a very oversimplifying way of looking at it. Ruby now wonders if she’s going to die for real, and the smith tells her the only thing that can happen to you here is what you want. You decide. Then the blacksmith realizes Ruby is not sure what she wants. It’s also important to note that in the anvil the blacksmith was using there appears to be a mouse head. The lesson from this scene is to explain that the reason the Genial Gems returned so fast after ascension in the meantime, was because they knew precisely what they wanted, opposite of Ruby, who’s still at a crossroads. Back outside the others here a noise and come across Neo Cat (not to be confused with Neon Katt) trying to get through the door to Remnant but they can’t, because Neo has no ties to the place, nothing left to return to. So the cat can’t get what it wants. By the way, the cat calling Weiss the worst of the bunch, she probably should wear that as a badge of honor, just saying. The cat also reveals what really happened at the tree with the siblings: Lewis went through the door, but Alyx decided to stay behind and had a “crisis of conscience,” wanting to fix what she had broken here. Curious was extremely upset by this… and killed her for it. I’ll get back to that in a second. The cat then realizes Ruby’s true desire is to return to Remnant and play hero, and intends to rip her out of her shell and possess her to get through. Something, you might say, the others aren’t exactly down with. It’s as you said with Ruby - she can only see the negatives at the moment. I’m going to use an analogy from my job as an Uber Driver - we constantly are working for five star ratings from each ride… because if a customer gives out four or less it’s actually damaging to the driver’s profile. So I can relate to her mindset… I could have 99 five star rides where I did everything perfectly… but I don’t think about them. I think about the one Rider who for some reason or another, didn’t like how I did things and gave me a lower rating. Does that discount the other 99 times it went well? No… but as humans we tend to focus on the negative. Which is exactly what Ruby is doing. She can’t feel the times she succeeded, because her last failure was so colossal. It’s also important yo point out… she’s still two years younger than everyone here, she’s not at the same level emotionally and maturely to process the concept of failure like her teammates are. Anyway, the smith shows her weapons from all sorts of deceased Huntresses and asks what if you could become any one of them and leave Ruby Rose behind? As she starts to examine them the only thing she feels is that they all carry a heavy weight. The point of this, I think, is to make Ruby realize that every Huntress in her position has felt like she currently is. They all had burdens on their shoulders to carry and yet, they still managed some way or another to keep going despite that weight. The cat, meanwhile is pulling out Neo tricks on the others, trying to prey on Yang’s fear by making Ruby zombies and saying what comes out knight not be your sister. The anime trope here is for Yang to freeze in fear, and become emotionally unstable, so I’m kind of glad they didn’t go that route - in fact it just made her more angry. Good for her, she should be a little ticked off, at everything. But you know, knocking Neo or the cat around is a much more productive outlet than beating yourself up over what you didn’t do earlier. The same thing can’t be says if Jaune though, as the cat did him EXTREMELY dirty. First, he’s about to stab the cat, who transformed into Penny and made him relive that situation, then, another clone transforms into Pyrrha and whacks him straight in the back, immobilizing him. Talk about adding more insult to the injury. But the coup de grace is when Weiss aims a fire shot at the Neo Cat, only for the clone to shatter, and the blast knocks Jaune off the platform and into a puff of smoke. I’ll ALSO get back to this later, but I do genuinely think Weiss “killed” Jaune here, although it was clearly an accident. Hold your rant, I’m GOING somewhere with this when I finish analyzing. 😅 The final scene is Ruby after feeling the weight of all the different past Huntresses and their burdens, and feeling like she’s not capable of being enough, so the blacksmith throws that line back in her face: “what exactly IS enough?” Ruby then turns to the weapon of the person she admires most - her mother. And as she hears the story being told, she reaches out, wanting to understand what kind of weight her biggest inspiration carried. And this is where the episode ends, and not gonna lie, I felt a little bit cut off. When RWBY does cliffhangers they usually at least finish the sentence even if it’s a crazy ending. But you usually are able to respond with “what happened next?” This felt like it cut off mid sentence. Now, some of the writers have come out and said 9 and 10 should be considered two parts of the same episode, so maybe they cut fir time, but the pacing this week felt a little bit more jarring between the gloss over of Ruby’s actions and the ending. By the way, given the information we were given about the episode length average I believe the final episode will be 26:29 in length, otherwise the math doesn’t add up. They have said this is the shortest episode and next week will be the longest. Don’t get me wrong I think the episode’s still good, it’s just the pacing felt very rushed and it felt like it needed a couple more scenes in it to make it feel like a complete chapter. Okay, now I’ll get to the theories I have for the finale. First: a lot of people have a hard time wrapping their brain around the final scene - I do not think Ruby is reaching out with the intention of becoming her mother. That, in itself, would have all sorts of disturbing implications. No, I actually think this might be where we finally get some answers about her. Who she was, what she was doing, and Ruby is trying to understand this as well. Next, I do not think Neo is going to be around after this volume. She’s never been a “good” character, but after what she did in the last episode on top of everything else, I don’t see her as redeemable. The cat also said she has no attachments to Remnant, so she can’t physically return as is. When you look at the flashbacks, there’s a character that’s missing, yet based on what the Curious Cat says about Alyx wanting to fix everything in the EA, there’s something I’m going with here. By the way, it’s been established that a death in the Ever After means you ascend UNLESS you’re eaten by the Jabberwalker. Alyx wanted to fix everything including “poor Jaune,” whom she poisoned earlier. Who found Jaune and took him to the Paper Pleasers who saved his life and helped him fix things? Yep… I’m now ninety percent sure that Juniper is Alyx after her ascension. (We know Alyx is “dead” or Ruby wouldn’t have seen her dagger in the blacksmith’s place earlier). Which leads me to Jaune. Honestly you think I’d be a little more upset. By the way CRWBY what the heck are we doing with ships the past couple weeks, first Ruby slashes fake Oscar and now Weiss torches Jaune??? I’d like to speak to the manager, please. First, this fits with his character inspiration, Joan of Arc, who was burned at the stake as a heretic. Second, Jaune’s “death” here is the only way to resolve the issue of his aging conundrum, this is how we get him back to the way he used to be. The only question is will he retain his memories or not? Those are my predictions, as well as my analysis. Overall, in my opinion, probably the weakest episode of the volume to date, mostly because of the pacing issues, but also because the others are so strong in their own right. Of course, the finale might be in a class all by itself, cause there’s always STUFF… 🙃 I should really wrap this up, and turn in my paper for grading now so I’m gonna do that. XD

So a few quick things.....the very first Genial Gem they meet is a literal ruby. Also, in the netherworld with the Blacksmith, the glass cases containing all the weapons, including Summer's, all remind me a little of the glass coffin in RWBY Ice Queendom that Negative Weiss was put into for awhile....though that could be mere coincidence. CRWBY's general rule is that extra RWBY content is canon unless it contradicts a main story line....so I guess RWBY: Ice Queendom can tentatively be regarded as canon...(?); though a key difference is the glass coffin in Ice Queendom was a product of the Nightmare Grimm, while these glass cases are a feature of the Tree. Sidebar, it was personally gratifying to find out I was right regarding Lewis being the one who made it back to Remnant and writing The Girl Who Fell Through The World. Some have theorized Alyx is the blacksmith, noting some similar color schemes between her dress and the Blacksmith's headwear, etc.

John J Ronald

Ooh, and did anyone else notice the doors of the exit on the Tree were carved with the images of the two gods in their true Dragon forms?

kamenriderhime

I see what you mean - in that regard, no one is enough because a burden this heavy isn't meant for one person! I really want her to learn it too!

John J Ronald

Brief "yes and" to affirm that this reminds me of Weiss's earlier conversation with Yang about Blake, really trying to get Yang to understand things from Blake's point of view. Weiss is doing the same thing for Ruby now, trying to guide her teammates into thinking deeper about why Ruby finally broke down. Yang says the same thing she said about Blake in RWBY5...."she could've just talked to us!", but the observant and wise Weiss notes that maybe Ruby felt like she couldn't....Ruby feels isolated because of the burden of leadership, like she has to bear the weight of everything....and I'll say it again it's the same trap that Old Man Ozpin fell into, too. And maybe Summer did as well, since her quest against Salem was a solo mission she undertook without telling her teammates or Ozpin of her plans....as affirmed by Qrow in RWBY7. "That was a Summer Secret." Ruby: "This says I'm a huntress but I don't feel like I know any more now than I did at Beacon." Qrow (sigh): "That feeling.....never goes away."

kamenriderhime

OHHHHHHHH I did not notice that! Yay! That's true, there was a gentleness. That's such a good point, I'm glad you brought it up that the way that Ruby ascended was so similar to suicide. Excellent point about the viewpoint of those who end up surviving an attempt. That's what I'm hoping - she'll confront everything she needs to and learn and come back stronger and healed (or healing)!!!

Tyler Stobbe

A quick follow-up: a couple of things I neglected to mention in my earlier post: Weiss’ line when they found Ruby saying “we’ve done all we can” is the line that felt out of place to me - because they really didn’t “do” anything except chase her to the tree. And also, I think the way we solve this is the Jabberwalker is going to be coming back, eating Neo Cat and wiping both from existence and that’s how we solve this problem. We’ve not seen it utilized much in the main plot yet, and its properties must have a purpose. I just want this theory on record NOW in case I’m right later. 😅

Manny

Mhmh no was not cool using Penny or Pyrrha like that. I’d be lying saying I didn’t go back to see Pyrrha in this style but it hurt doing so. 😰

kamenriderhime

Right?!?! I know, they gave us Pyrrha in the new animation which was great....but they made sure we paid dearly for it >.<

This comment will only be about theories & ideas that I heard/saw after this episode and I will leave a longer comment about the entire episode later. 1 of them is about Alyx and if after she was killed by Curious she then ascended into the Blacksmith because of her desire to fix things in the EA. Something connected to this is that there was a big theory that Juniper was Alyx after Ascension but maybe it’s more that after becoming the Blacksmith they made or at least guided Juniper to Jaune to help him. Also I hope they can bring June with them when they leave. Another thing is that I think they are going to resolve the whole Little plot line with the assumed connection to Ruby’s hope a lot of us think and some sort of ascension going on. Like imagine Little emerges as someone who can protect and fight as a humanoid with mouse ears and a tail like a Faunas but not quite & comes with the group. I think what is going to happen next episode is that Ruby is going to have a conversation with a vision of her mother and I think it will basically be about Summer telling her daughter that she doesn’t need to be her mother/this idealized hero and just be herself and find out more of who she is & that she is enough. This is also connected to a video I watched that talked about Ruby having to let go of this idolization of her mom because it’s not a good thing because her mother and all of them are only human and can only do their best. Also I hope Yang gets some kind of moment with her mom as well. A theory I like because of how it resolves Neo is that she will be the reason they defeat the Curious Cat not because she wants to help them but because Neo can’t stand the thought of being controlled in this way. I think she will end up staying in this world and go through ascension likely with out us knowing what happened to her but with the possibility of coming back to the story at some point because I think redemption is possible for almost anyone. I like the idea that if they get Curious out of Neo that there will be an anime moment and Curious will have a final form. Also I definitely see Jaune going back to his younger self without losing his memories & experiences somehow. One person I watch had the idea that if Alyx is the Blacksmith her purpose will end up complete and she will return in human form and come back to Remnant with the group. If there is an after credit scene I think it will be them arriving in Vacuo possibly like no time has passed or like a week after volume 8 and maybe we will see a lot of familiar faces some we haven’t seen in a long time. I think that’s all I have to say that I do appreciate the message you posted at the start of the Youtube version of your episode 8 reaction as well as talking about the topic in this reaction it was very kind. I hope you enjoyed this comment. :-) <3

Supermonaman

Forgot some things in terms of predictions I wanted to say I think it would be okay if the Blacksmith is just an aspect of the tree but I find them being Alyx more interesting even if being Juniper works. I personally feel some amount of empathy for Curious because they were driven insane by their purpose of insurance curiosity even if I hate the things they have/had done and I have been hearing some interesting discourse of the Cat being useful in terms of the information they can give but if that isn’t what happens I think they should be killed because leaving them here in their insanity is just cruel. I can see Ruby getting a new look that separates herself from her mother’s look since there is an inspiration based on her mom in her clothing choices may be a new weapon that is a combination of her’s and her mother’s that she makes herself like she made Crescent Rose as well as potentially getting a new power or extension of her silver eyes ability (also I like the idea of Little becoming a knight). Also I would be scared of this but what if they arrive back home with everyone preparing for war or something dangerous is going on.

kamenriderhime

Hi Spadeas! :) I know, wasn't that awesome! I think you're right, Summer will play a part in Ruby's realization. She really is a rose that needs to bloom, omg! Ohhh that makes sense about Alyx!!! Awww I'd love it if that's what happened with Little! Interesting theory about being connected to the vault, and good call on the doors John!! Good call about the circle/crown too. Omg!! Happy Birthday!!! I hope you're having a wonderful day! I will most likely watch the ep Monday so I can't wait to see what happens!!! Enjoy your day :D

kamenriderhime

I think that's a great theory about Alyx becoming either the blacksmith or Juniper!!! Also I have a feeling you're right about Little being connected to Ruby. That would be wild if Little came back as a Faunus type creature! Also I agree, I think Ruby will resolve her unrealistic ideals of what it means to be a hero/huntress through talking to her mom. That's a great theory about Neo too, she must hate losing control this way, who wouldn't. It would be almost kind of a redemption for her to ascend and stay in the Ever After. I have a feeling they'll get Jaune back to his original age somehow! Oh wow, it would be interesting to have Alyx back in original form and in Remnant! I'd love it if we got to see Vacuo before they ended the season! Awww of course, I'm so happy you appreciate that message!!! And thank you for your comment! I have one from you that I haven't gotten to yet, I'm so sorry!!! It's always fun and interesting to hear your thoughts/theories!!!!

kamenriderhime

I hear you, it would be really interesting if they went down that road!! Yeah that's true about the Cat, to some degree it does feel like maybe this is beyond their control. It's almost cruel to leave them this way, for sure. Maybe they could ascend and find peace? Not sure. Oh that's an interesting point that Ruby might get a more unique design. A new power/unlocked power would be cool too. Awwww Knight Little sounds awesome :D Omg I know, who even knows what's going on back home!!! Guess we'll find out!!!

kamenriderhime

Omg that's true!! I didn't even realize lol. Good call on the comparison to Ice Queendom. I guess maybe it could be canon, and that could be a reference to it? Way to go on your guess about Lewis!!!! I could see her being the blacksmith, I've also seen theories that she ascended as Juniper. Can't wait to find out!

Spadeas

Thank you very much, I was working today (even though it was an internship), but it was a pretty good day and I just saw the latest episode of RWBY, which is a wonderful gift for me.

kamenriderhime

You're so welcome! Well I hope you get to celebrate for the rest of the day! So awesome that you got the RWBY finale as a gift! :D I haven't seen it yet but I can't wait!

kamenriderhime

Ahh happy belated bday to such a talented VA!! Hahaha I'm glad I'm not the only one who had a lot to say about the ep! Omg, we actually get to hear Summer!!! It makes so much sense that her mom, the idea of her, and these stories were all such an influence on Ruby and now here we are. Also didn't we get to see this scene in Tales of Remnant as well? I understand your tangent actually! The way they treated it in this ep made me think that everyone is thinking of this much less as a su!c!de than how the previous ep depicted it.....maybe they did it this way to show that our crew barely has time to process anything because there's always a new fire to put out? Not sure. Jaune's definitely having some realizations here and I knew you would love that White Knight moment!! LOL you can't escape the bees!!!!!!!!! So true, Weiss learns fast and is making sure not to make the same mistake twice. Yes, the mouse head was pointed out to me after!!! Yay Little!!!! I hear you completely on only focusing on the negatives, I go through that all the time with my Etsy store reviews!! It can be so tempting to hone in on the negative and forget the positive. I agree about the point that the blacksmith was making to Ruby about how they all had to learn how to deal with those burdens. Yeah if the cat was trying to fear-paralyze Yang, that went all kinds of wrong lol. Oof, the scene with Jaune was so hard to watch!!!!! And omg, I'll be so upset if Weiss accidentally killed Jaune, although I can see a few places they'd take that. I see what you mean about that scene and the pacing, but I agree that this is probably more like the first part of a two-part finale. Oh, I can't wait for a 26 minute ep hehe! (I haven't watched it yet) Yeah I wasn't sure if that's what they were implying, or if maybe Ruby will just get to see Summer or see a few things through her eyes. Interesting theory about Neo. Part of me kinda wants to see her redeem herself a little bit defeating the cat, even if it's only done for self-centered reasons and not to help the group. I've heard that theory about Juniper and it adds up!!!! I know, after all we've seen, seeing Jaune is awful but also like, what more can they do to us at this point lol. Ok so that's exactly the thought I had - that he'll ascend as his younger self maybe? Haha good essay this week! Oh interesting about Weiss' line too, maybe she meant more in general? Not sure. Ohhhh that could be why they've been emphasizing the Jabberwalker situation, hmmm!! Yeah that would do it. Guess I'll find out once I watch the ep! :D

kamenriderhime

John - good call about Weiss trying to dig deeper into the reasoning. And also very true that Summer, in a way, went off on her own as well. Qrow's line leaves me with chills now after all we've seen!!!!! :O

Jessica Lacasse

This all feels like the five stages of grief, and I love it. Breaking down, to heal again.

kamenriderhime

I can definitely see that! I can't wait for the healing....watching Ruby go through this has been heartbreaking!
