Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 1 episode 14 of The Bad Batch!!!  Oh wow!!!!!  Not only did we get a Rex cameo in this one, but we get to catch our crew up on what the bigger plan for the future of the Clones really is.  And who better to fill us in on that than Gregor!!!!  Yay!!!  So happy to see him in the fold, and this certainly gives me more to think about when it comes to Clones and Order 66 too.  But guys, I did not sign up for us to exchange prisoners at this facility!!  We HAVE to get Hunter back!!!!!!!  Guess this is what ushers us into the finale....!!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Again Hunter being reluctant to undertake this rescue without further details, as he is looking out for them; however the look from Echo tells him they have to do this. Echo is a bit more old school, and just looks to help other clones when he can, no matter the peril; and he references it later in the episode why its also important to him, as without the Bad Batch and Rex, he would have been stuck in that chamber, being a machine tool for god knows what at this point. Hate that scene with the young clones asking if they'll still become soldiers. Who knows where the hell they are going, but it won't be good. The music in the facility is straight from the Death Star scenes from A New Hope. And the designs of the first 'TK' stormtroopers here are straight from concept artist Ralph McQuarrie for that first film. One of the commandoes training them here, also has yellow tags on his armour, and it is believed he is called Scorch, who was a commando in one of the Star Wars games. Gregor is still mainly all there, but showing signs of his mental issues later. With getting amnesia, then being blown up, its going to show at some time. His chip perhaps became defective after his explosion. And yes clones are top tier soldiers, but are costly to produce and when the effects of Order 66 wear off, can become disruptive due to all that they have been through and their willpower - which could become problematic for the nascent Empire; whilst those who can willingly sign up to be stormtroopers (though they aren't called that yet) and swear fielty to the Empire - as well as costing a lot less - will be more ideal for the Empire's aims. They also don't need soldiers to keep the peace, just a form of police force, which become stormtroopers greatest strength, that and an unlimited supply of them. It also helps keep certain populations in check, as it removes men of fighting age on worlds, in case there are problems. Gonky comes to save the day, yay! Hunter's design is very much like John Rambo, and his fall echoes a scene from the first Rambo movie, where he falls a great distance down a mountain slope (and in fact Sylvestor Stallone broke his arm as he falls into a tree, which is kept in the movie). And your thoughts about Hunter at the end of the post-reaction, I actually hoped they would have went down that road, for multiple reasons; but we'll get to all that on Wednesday! :D

Look, you’re right about Rex being a trustworthy source, but I’ve begun to notice a disturbing habit of this crew’s of taking on missions without all the pertinent information… Speaking of Rex, he got cut off mid communication so it makes you wonder exactly what kind of shenanigans he’s currently involved in. Okay, when the clones found that military base inside a mountain that nobody can see and a shuttle just landed… was I the only one thinking… this reminds me of an original James Bond movie set? 🤔 Well, the Stormtroopers are starting to be produced. We knew this was coming but I didn’t expect it quite this… soon. Apparently even though the Kaminoans are aware of what’s going on, they’ve cashed in all their chips and like the Prime Minister said, it’s been to their own detriment. The Empire is not the Republic. This actually might partially explain why the Empire is switching: ami said last week that the clones might be reacting to the Empire treating civilians badly. But there’s another thing: all clones have multiple directives and one of the main ones is to serve the interests of the Republic since that no longer exists, it’s probably cheaper to do this than to arrange brand new coding. Speaking of which that scene at the end where Rampart took Nala Se was odd. I couldn’t quite tell if he was saying that she was caught trying to get people ready to escape… or if she went she told him. Either way would serve to distract them from seeking Omega… if it’s the second, that’s quite a turnabout. Of course you know we can’t come up on the end of the season without drama though. You fell for it again… or this time I guess… Hunter did. :P Haven’t seen the last two yet but I assume you have at this point so I’ll stop here. More insights in a couple days.

So it has been officially confirmed that the Clone Commando with yellow markings is indeed Scorch. Makes me wonder what happened to Boss and Fixer. And if Sev is still missing.

Right, he's always been specifically looking out for this crew. Echo on the other hand, has more experience being a "reg" but also has his own personal story of how he was rescued, so he'd be way more inclined to jump at this chance! Oof, I know, the young clones!!!!! Who knows what's gonna happen to them! No kidding about the music and the designs, that's interesting! Wow, cool that that has been confirmed as Scorch too! Poor Gregor, and that makes sense that maybe his chip became defective. That's a good point about the Clones, they're expensive and high maintenance, and they really just need enforcers at this point like you said. I never thought about that with the men of fighting age too, wow. I was definitely getting Rambo vibes here, and that's insane about Sylvester Stallone breaking his arm, ouch!!! Oh interesting, that would have been quite a lot to explore for sure. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on today's reactions!!!

Lol that's true, our crew goes on very little info a lot of the time! Oh I know, I'd love to see what Rex was up to, too! LOL I can totally see the James Bond vibes! Yeah this is really soon for the stormtroopers, I agree. The Kaminoans really did get backed into a corner here by cashing in all their chips, like you said. That's such a good point about the main directive of the clones to be to serve the Republic, which is no more. Also, I have a feeling they're starting to clash with the Empire's methods more and more. Ohhh interesting, I didn't pick up on that with Nala Se. That would be quite a twist! LOL Hunter fell for it alright, total Yang joke right there :P Just posted my last two reactions, woohoo!

There is more on that Commando if you have seen the latest episode Brandon, unless that's what you are referring to. 😉 Yep Mel they are up, a lot to talk about!
