Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 1 episode 7 of The Bad Batch!!!  OMG REEEEEEEEEEEEEXXXX!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It's good to see you again buddy :)  Rex is out there fighting, still - I'm so proud of him!  And thank God someone is there to tell our friends, um, they need brain surgery NOW!!!  In fact, Wrecker's already activated....what a horrifying and heartbreaking thing to see!  Him going after Omega is something I know will haunt him!  But thanks to Rex, our crew is free, so that's one less thing to worry about, phew!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Yay Rex is back! So chronologically I guess Rex and Ahsoka parted ways after Padme's funeral and faking their deaths. I feel like maybe Ahsoka introduced Rex to Rafa and Trace, gave them her droid R7 after they rebuilt it, and went into hiding into the Outer Rim until she got found out and beheaded that Inquisitor. So while she's in hiding for what I assume might be a few years, I think Rex was doing all this stuff. Nice to see Rex talk to Echo about Fives, even if it was just one line of dialogue. The Planet we saw, Bracca, was originally created for the video game, Jedi Fallen Order, which takes place 5 years after Revenge of The Sith. The main character, Cal Kestis, worked as a Scrapper while he was in hiding for several years before deciding to leave this planet. The Scrappers Guild originally sided with the Separatists in the Clone Wars, and were kinda salty when the former Republic who is now the Empire, took over. They pretty much scrap parts from old ships to make new ones. It is interesting how, through the Bad Batch, we're getting more and more layers to what Order 66 and by extension the Inhibitor Chips is and the after effects of them. Clone Wars layed a solid foundation and now we're getting more details over time which is pretty cool. Also Rex had a badass exit disappearing into the fog like that lol

Was not expecting this today, had to double-check what day it is! Another double dose of the Dad Batch! Haven't even had time to prep my notes! As your fave character in Star Wars would say Mel, "a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one!!" Excellent. And that will be three for some of us to watch today as the new one is aired on Disney+ as well today! :D

Agree about Rex's exit, thats a legend off to fight the good fight for everyone.

You can get the Mantel Mix that Omega and Wrecker eat, at Galaxy's Edge - nice bit of promo there. People got so excited when we got to Bracca. There is a Jedi there in hiding at this time. ;) Bracca is a ship-breaking planet dismantling all the big Republic and Separatist ships from the Clone War, and is where you start off on in the game Jedi : Fallen Order. The Jedi padawan in hiding, is who you play in it, Cal Kestis, who I have mentioned before. At this time he'd only be about 13, and he stays there for 5 years until the Inquisitors show up when he uses the force to rescue his friend. Then thats when you take over and play through the game as him. The big beastie in the water here, is in the game too, which is a great nod! :D I'm glad that Rex doesn't tell them who helped him remove his chip; though we can trust this squad and Echo of course served under Rex and Ahsoka in the 501st. She is in hiding just now and that would be a big secret to reveal. I hate the background implications of this episode. It shows the tragedy of the clones. First they are forced to turn on their beloved Jedi Generals and destroy the order, to end the Republic bring the rise of evil under the Empire; and here - like with Crosshair - this bloody chip turns clone against clone when it is activated. And for it to happen with Wrecker, who is the most terrifying, yet childlike; is just horrible. I like how Hunter tells them of what happened to them with the Jedi in the pilot episode. Obviously when he talks of the padawan, he is referring to Kanan, who as we know, Rex will work with in the next 15 years. Seeing Wrecker chase down Omega again is just so sad. Seeing how close they were at the start and have been throughout. Later when the chip is removed and he apologises, we all know he couldn't help it, but he'd feel horrible about his actions towards her and the others. She, like the delightful person she is, is fine and accepts him to help him get over that guilt. That bloody chip... Rex looking at his helmet and everything he's done in the war, wondering what it was all about. Its just a moment, but one we know he is thinking of how it all went wrong. And when he moves off into the fog, it shows us this legend will still be fighting for everyone, when most of his brothers are killed or turned sides now. As for his scene where we see him in Rebels when we meet him, there hasn't been an answer to that yet - will we see it in this show? For the story I think they are leading to in season 2, it could bring that answer.

So, it’s unfortunate you didn’t hear what Omega decided to name the lizard at the start or you definitely would’ve perked up: it was Ruby. 😂 “It’s a tradition. The kid likes it.” Now, when you say kid, Wrecker, who are you REALLY talking about, cause you kind of have the same personality. I said this previously but I think all that head-banging is what caused the chip in Wrecker’s brain to become more in control of it over time. As for your question regarding Order 66, my theory is that that order has always been in the database, and clones must follow orders. The thing is, nobody screened the orders besides Palpatine so he would’ve been the only one aware of the command, and given his position he had ultimate authority over the army at the time. Just another move that took place under the table. I’m pretty sure based on what Rex said about the other two people that he was the one they contacted st the end of the last episode. But more importantly - who was he reporting to? Also, Omega aim unclear on if she’s knowledgeable or perceptive but she certainly sizes up people fast. And if she doesn’t have a chip, what purpose does she serve? Keep in mind she looks and acts like a kid - but she is something else. And we still have to figure out what. Well, at least the ticking time bombs are out. Why do I get the feeling that’s gonna be the least of their problems though? 😂

YAY!!! Double Dad!!! :P Lol isn't that the best nickname ever!? Oh wow, I didn't even realize it was coinciding with the new eps too!!! I'm a bit slow on comments this week but I can't wait to read what you have to say soon!

kamenriderhime

YAY REX!!! That makes sense, thanks for clarifying the timeline! So this is what Rex is up to in the mean time. Rex is a legend for sure! I know, the mention was sweet! Ohhh no kidding about the planet! I've heard great things about that game! I'm tempted to just watch some game play. Yeah I love seeing the details of how everything transpired. LOL Rex is an ultimate boss with a boss exit for sure!!!

kamenriderhime

Ahhhh I thought she might have said that but I couldn't understand her! LOL yeah sure, Wrecker....the kid :P That's a good point about the head trauma, it makes sense. Oh that's a fair theory about Order 66, it adds up. Right, who was REX contacting if he was the original contact??? o.O That's the thing, I can't tell if she's just really intuitive or if it's more. But yeah, there's something about her! Lol I'm relieved but yeah, something tells me our problems are just beginning!!!

2023-02-17 15:19:53 NO WAY!!!!! I need to schedule a trip asap!!! Whaaaattt!!! There's a Jedi in hiding there?! I need to think, I must have forgotten something important! OHHHHH that Jedi, haha, I was so worried I forgot something! That is awesome though, what a huge nod to the game! People must have been so excited!!! Also, I really need to play that game!!! >.< Good point about not telling them who took his chip out....as much as I'm sure they could be trusted, it's better if less people know! Oh my gosh, so true that even beyond the horror of turning the clones on their Jedi generals, it turns them on each other as well. It's sickening! And seeing it happen to Wrecker was so heartbreaking!!!!! Ugh, the thought of him chasing her down! I hate those chips!!!! Rex is such a boss, with all this on his shoulders he still never gives up and keeps fighting for whatever and whoever is left. Right, I'm wondering how he, erm, came into retirement I guess lol! Maybe we'll get more answers later like you said!

Yeah its great they got to bring in some elements of the game to this. In days gone by a lot of games weren't deemed canon by Lucas, even the ones created by his game studio. However with Jedi : Fallen Order, and its sequel Survivor - which is out soon - it is canon as the game developers were heavily involved with the Lucasfilm Story Group in the production of these games. If Cal Kestis survives this game, I really think we may see him in live action sometime, as the actor who plays him in the game, is a tv/film actor; and the droid type he uses, unique to that game, is a BD droid, and was shown in live action in the BoBF episode with Mando building his new ship. So perhaps thats a hint down the line he'll be introduced into a main storyline. You should play that game when you can. I've been replaying it recently myself on the easiest setting, as I'm trophy hunting for it on Playstation! If you can't though, try to check out some of the cutscenes of it on Youtube, as it dives even more in depth about survivors guilt and being lost, after Order 66 and losing connection to the force. At least with the majority of the crew - Crosshair aside - they have removed the chips, so Damocles Sword is no longer dangling over them; and they can go on their own path free from the Empire and the claws of Sidious. Yeah Rex seems to go on a hiatus with Wolffe and Gregor, when he is clearly still fighting in his own small way just now. What changes? As said, once you start season 2, we may dwell on that a bit more; but we do know he is the one clone who did help restore the Republic later on, fighting with the Rebel Alliance all the way to Endor; I wonder if the Bad Batch are still around at that time?

It is! That's so awesome, I love that this game made it to canon! It would be really cool if we got to see the main character pop up in something on Disney Plus. The fact that the droid has already been spotted is a good sign!!! I know, I'm really going back and forth on just reacting to the cut scenes. I know it's not the same experience, but I'm really bad at games!!! :P I have wanted to do gaming on my channel for the longest time but I'm afraid they'd be "fail" videos haha. It's a huge relief to have those chips out for sure. I'll be curious to see if we get more into it in season 2 with Rex!!! He did fight quite a bit later on, even right beside Han Solo at the Battle of Endor lol :D I would really love it if the Bad Batch were around at that time!!!!!! I guess we'll see!!!

& you've done "Bad Batch", too?! Perfect, I'm watching it on D+ rn, for the first time blind, I've just watched this episode, guess who I'm adopting. 😀 😆 (I've started watching on Thursday btw.) Okay, I shall write a real comment after I rewatch a few eps with you. I wanna. But I also want to continue watching rn. Mhhhmmhh, which to choose?! 😆 mayhaps I'll (re)watch with you after season 1!

This episode was so painful since Wrecker’s my favorite. At least we don’t have to worry about the chips anymore. And it was so cool seeing them go to Bracca, cause I’m pretty sure I was playing Jedi Fallen Order or had just finished it around the time this came out.
