Hey everyone!  Here I am with Jojo season 2, episode 5!!!  YAY, after a fight full of some amazing twists, turns, and reveals about what a Stand can do, we finally got that awful fleshy spider thing off our new friend!!!  Turns out he has a dark past and a good reason for wanting to help find Dio.  I'm glad he's on board!!!  His Stand was way too cool to go to waste!  The fight was pretty insane too.  And I love that at the end, we're already getting to see some of his personality a bit more lol!!!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

So John Effiel here is actually named "Polneraff" who- Oh what's that? They used Polneraff's REAL name for the sub?! O: I remember being happy they did, because when Jojo All-Star Battle came out for the first time in the US, they called him "John Effiel", which was part of his name, but not the name everyone calls him. Honestly, he's one of my favorite characters in this part. 🤣 Plus Silver Chariot is pretty neat with what it can do and it's limitations...

Oh you think THESE Stands are creative…? … We’ll talk later. 👀 Interesting how Polnareff (PULL-NAW-REF) is still able to keep some of his personality intact during the fight even though DIO’s flesh bud is clearly altering his perceptions. So perhaps it’s not complete kind control but heavily influenced? It’s something to think about for later. You’re right about these Stand fights though, it’s pretty much two kids on a playground going “I beat you” and one-upping each other with “you would have, but then I did this!” Is recess over yet? I don’t know if it became clear during the dialogue but he said his sister was shamed - which is a polite way of saying she was taken advantage of. And then she was killed to boot. Not really a pleasant subject to talk about, but I do think you need full context to understand his motivations. Hang on a minute… /checks dialogue… Shadow Clones…? A scythe…? Is this the right show? 👀 Also, that fight ended with a really sick burn, didn’t it? 😉 I’ll see myself out. ✌️

Hello Melissa, I hope you doing well. I want to thank you for your awesome videos. Every Thursday I looking forward for the next Jojo video. At first I dosen´t like the concept of Stands and Jotaro as the MC, because I liked Hamon and Joseph to mutch. But after the 5th Episode of Stardust Crucaders I got used to it. Polnareff is now my favourite from the crew. In later episodes you think he is the MC of this part. His Stand is not the best but in my opinion he has the best design from the main crew. Something that others have mentioned before me, but I'll do it anyways: Dio using Hermit Purple in Polnareffs backstory.Because of that he can transfer Polnareffs desire to kill the murderer of his sister, to the crystal ball. A Stand is the manifestation of the soul/life force of the user. It is explained in interviews and other materials that what Dio was using was the Stand of Jonathan's body, created through his Hamon.The Stand is called "The Passion". Holly also has brambles-like Stands growing at her back, which appears to be the nature of all Stands born through Hamon,, so she being killed by her Stand could be a consequence of awakening to the Hamon-related abilities passed down in the family but having no training at all in it. If she had trained in Hamon she may have been able to control it. It's also confirmed in a videogame that Joseph had Hermit Purple grapped around him while using Hamon during Part 2, he simply hadn't awakened as a Stand User yet, but other characters that were Stand Users could see it. A therorie is that Joesph can predict what a person will say, because of Hermit Purple. Im happy that you like the new OP and ED. I think my favorite part of this opening is the symbolism. Like you get to the midway part where it shows Jonathan, he closes his eyes to signify his journey is over. You see Joseph, he blinks, his previous journey is over but he's still part of the story. You see Jotaro, his eyes are closed and he opens them to show his journey is just starting. There's a lot of cool stuff in this opening but if you hyper-analyze it you're gonna get spoiled. Oh I'm glad they kept the name!! I love Silver Chariot, so glad he ended up on our side lol. Whoa, no kidding about Benimaru!!!! I honestly don't know Polneraff well enough yet to say, but now I'll look out for that! I'm not sure of Benimaru's age either, but I always thought he was older in the show, like maybe 20s, I could be wrong though!

Whoa!!! Nice! Yeah that is interesting, it's definitely not strict mind control. Hahahah it's totally kid-level playground fights!!! Yeah, I was wondering what "shamed" meant....ick. It does give a slightly better understanding of just how vile the killer is. OMG I knew the shadow clones were gonna come back up and you're right about the scythe too!!! LOL Yang would be proud!!!!

No kidding about Polnareff, I can't wait to see what you mean! Ohhhhh is that how it works with the crystal ball! Interesting about the Stand. Makes sense that Holly might be able to control her Stand if she'd trained in Hamon. Whoa, that's such a cool theory about Joseph's predictions!!!! I do love the new songs! The symbolism is excellent, I'll be sure not to pry too hard into the meanings of anything though, so as not to spoil myself!!!! Thank you so much, hope you love my next reactions!!!

I can't help but feel like they changed it like that for the game as a test bed for future subs. ..But at least in the new version of the game that got released recently... I think they kept Polneraff's name this time around. I wish I could recommend the game, but like... Even at the time of it's release, there's just MASSIVE spoilers. xD Even when you get to the end of Part 6, there's going to be Part 7 spoilers in there as well, and kinda sorta for Part 8. D: ...Thinking back on the comment you made about how Jotaro was like an old man while Joseph seemed like he's younger than his age... I really want to see an AU where Old Jotaro has to take Young Joseph on a quest to defeat Dio. 🤣You know Jotaro would be so stressed having to deal with Joseph that fighting DIO would seem like a walk in the park in comparison. I know someone made an AU where Jotaro was the one who got sick, and Holly had Star Platinum. She's still sweet Holly, but Star Platinum is still Star Platinum. 😂

This episode made Avdol that much cooler. Why are all these guys so cool with it? And yay I really like Polnareff too. Even as an opponent he was dignified and charming.

I know right!!! They know how to do some cool characters here!!! Yeah I agree, they're great at writing a likable character even if they're "opposed" to our character at the moment!

Polnareff is a really deep character, I'm sure he'll be a favorite going forward! One thing I find interesting about him is a theory that Inigo Montoya from The Princess Bride inspired certain aspects of his character, such as his charisma in battle and him being an expert swordfighter looking for a man with a deformed hand to avenge a family member. I don't believe it's actually confirmed but its just too perfect not to headcanon at least lol
