Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 4, episode 9 of REBELS!!!!  Oh wow, so the attack....could have gone better, but thank God a few folks, including Hera, made it out!  Hera and Chopper are kicking butt and taking names here!!!  But that moment where Hera forces Chopper to get away safely made my heart sink to my feet!!!  I can't believe they got her....but wow, our crew is gonna work like crazy to get her back aren't they!!!  They always do :)  Can't wait to see what's next!  Great ep!  Enjoy!!!  ~ MH

Btw, Melissa, have you ever read "Thrawn"? You should. Well, if you wanna. :D XD <3 https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Thrawn_(novel_series) It's a neat novel trilogy and you've seen "Rebels", so you're a perfect audience there as you'll know what's going on. Srsly, I think you might like those novels, try them someday. XD there are also comics adaptations... and I won't lie, I just want you to meet Eli Vanto. I don't much care about Thrawn (unlike Eli, who does care, way toooo much about him), but I do care about his guy. He's just charmed me. XD One good thing Thrawn does in my eyes is that he keeps his guy safe. But, yeah, srsly, the books are neat. Honestly.

That is some blockade around Lothal Thrawn has set up, dozens of Star Destroyers and cruisers around the planet; he wants to make sure his TIE factory remains online. X-Wings!!! First time we've seen them in Rebels, and Hera is the GENERAL leading the attack! She is such a boss taking down that Imperial ace who is flying a TIE Defender Elite. The way the battle is shot, is a nod to A New Hope when Luke and co go on the Death Star trench run; it makes perfect sense since we are not far off that time now, and Rebels has always linked up with the original trilogy films beautifully and sometimes shot for shot. You can see Thrawn has respect for the ingenuity of the rebels, especially when its led by Hera; but unfortunately for our heroes, he's very well prepared. They get through his space blockade, but not the dozens of TIE's waiting for them in Lothal's skies. Chopper never wanted to sit in a fighter again in battle after his Y-Wing was shot down in the Clone Wars, but he does it here for Hera, and yet again he's shot down, but instantly he is only concerned for her well-being. We love his chaotic nature, but he truly is loyal to his crew and especially his master. We see this too later in the episode, when he saves Hera from Rukh and where he won't leave her as she is getting captured, but she forces him to. I'm glad Mel you watched ep 9 and 10 back to back to help explain the bike scene with Kanan and the wolf. Kanan stops and turns back to rescue her, but he is acting out of emotion and fear. He is doing what Ezra did when he went to Tatooine for Obi-Wan, what Anakin used to do all the time, and what Luke did to his and his friends detriment in Empire Strikes Back on Bespin. The wolf stops him, calls him "Dume" and essentially tells him to follow the will of the force, not his heart...

“Everything will go exactly as planned…” “This won’t be dramatic at all…” Would you like to add “everyone is going to live happily ever after and get everything they want” while you’re at it? 😂 Okay, so… it seems that Thrawn’s calculating nature might actually be a detriment if motivated properly… he is so sure he knows every conceivable outcome that he fails to make any co to fence plans based on him not seeing something. So, all we’d have to do is… outsmart him…? 😬 Anyway, I’m sure that was a stun gun Pryce used on Hera, because Thrawn specifically told her and Rukh he wanted her alive. When Kanan decides to go back for Hera, it’s interesting… usually Ezra is hopping right on board for something like that and Sabine sounds like she wants to, but this time he lets Kanan go by himself, because he knows everyone else needs to get to safety as well, but he won’t stop Kanan so he doesn’t try. Maybe he’s matured. The real moral of this episode, though, is that Chopper does everything, is asked to do everything, saves everyone, is the real hero of the story, and if we would stop getting g in his way he’d take down the entire Imperial structure in less than a week. We’ve clearly been wasting way too much time on rebels, and Mandalorians, and Lasats, and Jedi, when all we needed was the right astromech. 🙃

Oh gosh I hated this episode for so many reasons! First, the feelings of losing Hera appear in the first five minutes, then she survived and I think, “yay a Chopper and Hera episode!” The Kanan goes back for her and I think, “No! (I mean yay but no”. It seems like such a sacrifice moment. Ugh freaking aching heart on a stick. 😖💓

Omg I hear you lol! I see what you mean, the death flags were there for sure, ugh. So much heartache!

Hahahaha I should know better by now right? That's so true, you could definitely see that as a type of maybe overconfidence on Thrawn's part. Outsmarting him won't be easy, but if anyone can do it, it's our rebels! Yeah I was pretty sure about the stun too. Yeah I agree, Ezra definitely made the conscious decision to let Kanan go alone! Hahahaha Chopper is the true hero of the whole galaxy!!! I feel like between R2 and Chopper this war could have ended ages ago :P

Yeah it's a huge operation for sure. Ohhhh is this the first time we've seen them?! You're right! So cool about the nods to Luke's battle. The details connecting to A New Hope are great for sure. I know, Thrawn's just always 3 steps ahead! Awwww Chopper, I didn't even realize that but you're right, it must be traumatic for him! I love their bond so much! Ohhhhh so that's what's happening in that scene on the bike, good call. Makes total sense that the wolf is trying to re-center him from his emotions back to the Force.
