Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 4, episode 7 of REBELS!!!!  Omg!!
More Loth-Wolves!!!!  This one felt very otherworldly and mystical...I'm enjoying seeing the plot thicken when it comes to the connection that the wolves have to the Force.  Lothal in general seems to be very significant!  Also, Rukh does not seem like he messes around, I'd expect no less from someone in Thrawn's camp.  The sniffing though!!!  Cannot wait for more!  Great ep!  Enjoy!!!  ~ MH

Saltire

Just been rechecking some comments, and see these birthday greetings from you both, many thanks! And I posted about the Rise Of Skywalker stuff in my comments on the finale, so didn't see these ones here! Very interesting the Ghost and its crew (whomever it consists of at that time - perhaps Ezra is back too?) is still an active member of the Resistance; and that the residue of Kanan's spirit lives on in the cosmic force like the force ghosts. :D

This season has so much of the weird, unexplainable mystic side of the Force and I love it. Oh this wolf put Sabine to sleep and carried her and Ezra back. Oh now they’ve teleported us halfway across the planet! Like what?! We got Ruhk, which was also password Thrawn had for his training droids last season. Also we FINALLY got the kiss, about time! And also the badass hyperspace jump from Hera through the hanger! Such a great episode.

kamenriderhime

It's great right? Hahahaha it's kinda hard to explain isn't it? But it's awesome! Ohhh that's so cool about the password! YES the kiss!!!!!!!! XD I agree, this was a great one for sure!

Rukh was a character in the original Thrawn books, playing an assassin or spy of Thrawn's I believe. He's played by Warwick Davis who has played countless smaller statured people over the years, and was Wicket in Return Of The Jedi, the lead in Willow (which is back on now in a new series) and has played loads of other roles in Star Wars and other big franchises like Harry Potter. Zeb is so strong, holding on to a hyperdrive with one hand and clawing a rock with another. He may smell very musky which Rukh picks up on, but he is also underestimated in his cleverness at dealing with Imperials in his own way. Kanan and Hera finally smooch, yay! They are so great together. Love the way Hera later jumps into lightspeed as she enters the construction domes to escape Thrawn's grasp, and take out dozens of imps on the way, what a legend her and Chopper are!! You mentioned about the timeline in your post-reaction, its only a few months away now, to Rogue One and A New Hope. The wolves are something, no wonder no one has seen a Loth-wolf in a hundred years if they can just traverse the planet like that. Note the cat licks Ezra on the cheek to wake him up, on his scars which resemble whiskers. :) Kanan is stunned when he hears his original name from the wolf. We know this was his name earlier, but I wonder if he hasn't heard it since he was a teenager when he changed his name from Caleb Dume to Kanan Jarrus. And yes, the wolves are there to help guide the Jedi here, and they are like Bendu in a way, such that they are acting in Lothal's interest, just like he was for Atollon. There is something else happening on Lothal and why that planet is being highlighted by the Empire. I could confirm or deny your theory on it being Death Star stuff, but best just to let whats coming speak for itself.

Kanan’s comment about Lothal continuing to drag everyone back to it is interesting… and on top of that the wolves seem to be very interested in him. As well as his meeting with Ezra… Everything seems to be connected to Lothal… but how… and why? Pryce and Rukh just can’t get along enough to work together, proving once again that the Empire is too big for its own good. Granted, the Rebels don’t always see eye to eye, but they don’t actively hinder each other. Interestingly enough, nobody can fire straight when inside a Stormtrooper uniform and that includes the good guys… maybe nobody can actually see in there? That’d actually explain quite a bit in the franchise actually. 😂 Are you reverting to your Anakin/Padme craze? Cause it kinda seems like you are. But I think the underlying point was they’ve spent so long fighting they’ve never bothered to think about what they might do afterwards… if they actually make it. Star Wars has a thing for ruining romances… 👀 As far as where the wolves took everyone, it was Journey to the Center of… Lothal?” wait, wrong series. Hera did something I’ve been wondering why more people haven’t tried, hyperspace jumping through a small opening. I suppose it’s harder than it looks. Thrawn just looks dumbfounded. His logic isn’t accounting for their irrationality. Speaking of irrational, Zeb might want to let his friends know before showing up in an enemy vehicle next time… 😂 😂 Poir guy, he still can’t avoid the smelling joke. I imagine we aren’t done with Rukh yet either. We all know the big thing is the Death Star, but what else could be here? Hmmm… do I even want to know? Probably.

Nick

Zeb is seriously strong holding onto that hyperdrive as he did, although he might have thought to warn everyone which vehicle he was going to turn up to the rebel hideout in 😁 Love that Kanan and Hera get to kiss: my favourite screen couple who are so good together you just want it to work out for them. Hera blasting through that dome opening, escaping via hyperspace: that certainly annoyed Thrawn. Seriously impressive piloting, with the help of her long time friend, Chopper. There was something moving about her walking up to Mon Mothma at the end of the show. I know I’ve already waxed lyrical about this already but I can’t tell you how much I think the mystical wolves add to the whole feel of the show in a positive way. An interesting question to ask is why the wolves are focused upon Kanan instead of Ezra: having seen the whole show (many times) I’m still not sure. Saltire might be able to shed some light on that at an appropriate time (when spoilers won’t be involved). When Zeb points out that when it gets strange like this it’s a good thing always makes me smile. Although having seen the show so many times, I tend to smile nostalgically now. Speaking of nostalgia, you might like to bear in mind that Ezra started off being the ‘thief’ and being an expert crawling through ventilation shafts: the Ghost crew utilised that skill of his early on, and then he got fed up with doing it - in part because he felt it reflected the fact that he wasn’t getting the Jedi training he was told he would get. It became a bit of a running joke in the crew, and it turns out this ultimately leads to one of the most moving lines in the whole series. I’ll say no more, but look out for that in the future. When the white wolf (presumably the pack leader) says ‘Dume’ near the end, after that jaw dropping magical escape with the wolves, you can hear the emotion in Kanan’s voice when he realises that’s his original name the wolf used. Part of Kanan’s reaction is clearly shock/ astonishment at the wolf knowing this name, but surely some of his emotional reaction stems from all the associations with his past hearing his original name brings back. As for the suggestion that the empire is doing something on Lothal other than the TIE fighter factory, well, my lips are sealed 🤫. Other than to state the obvious - something you have already spotted - that events are building. However, we are building towards the final resolution of the whole series and not just the end of one season of the show. If you think back to previous high points in the show, and think of all those times you said that the last episode was so good but they’ve somehow managed to top it again. Well, I suspect you won’t be disappointed this time either, and things are coming to a head sooner than you might think, given how many episodes are left. Some of the very best Star Wars content ever produced (in my opinion) is going to happen between now and the end of the series, although I think there is an element of controversy between Star Wars fans on this point: more on this later :-)

Manny

Thank goodness after the first kiss I didn’t think we would get a kiss 💋 but now you have me scared. I hope everything works out well for them

kamenriderhime

Ohhh okay! Thanks for the info! NO WAY!!!! Warwick Davis?! That's so awesome!!! I love him! Oh yeah, Zeb is musky and brawny but also quite a bit clever when he needs to be! YAY smooch! Hera and Chopper are legends for sure! Oh wow, just a few months?! We're closing in! Yeah true, travel isn't really an issue for Loth Wolves so that explains why no one has seen them. Ohhhh I actually didn't notice that about the lick on the whisker-scar!!!! I always thought that scar resembled whiskers too! Good point, Kanan hasn't heard that name in a long time. Interesting, so that do have a Bendu-ish purpose! Hmmm guess I'll find out what's going on on Lothal soon enough!!

kamenriderhime

Yeah it was interesting! Why indeed? I know, Pryce and Rukh's squabbling is indicative of a bigger problem in the Empire. So true about the contrast to the Rebels. Hahah maybe it's been a design flaw of the stormtrooper outfit all along?? Oh yeah, you know I'm all about that ship! Oh I know, Star Wars is notorious for that, and it makes total sense that they haven't really been able to think about what happens when all this is over. Hahahahah oops wrong one! So well said that Thrawn can predict a lot, but not the unpredictable nature of the Rebels and their death-defying feats!!! That's gotta be tough but Hera made it look easy! Hahha poor Zeb! Hmmm, not sure what else there could be besides the Death Star but I guess we'll find out!

kamenriderhime

OMG I know!!!!!!!! I've got myself scared too lol, I really want everyone to get a happy ending!

kamenriderhime

I know, Zeb was amazing, but yeah a heads up would have been good lol! Such a great kiss! I agree, Hera and Chopper were amazing and I loved the scene of her walking up to Mon! Hmmm, interesting question about the wolves' interest in Kanan vs. Ezra!!! That's a good point. I love the wolves too! I'm sure it's easy to get nostalgic with a fun show like this! Oh yeah, good point about Ezra's thieving days. Oh, can't wait for the line!! Yeah I'm sure Kanan hasn't heard that name in a long time. Hmmm, so there is something big going on, interesting!!! Sounds like I've got a lot of great stuff to look forward to! Interesting about the controversy, hmm! I'll be curious to consider all these things once I've seen the whole show!!!

Nick

Mel: “Hmmm, so there is something big going on, interesting!!! Sounds like I've got a lot of great stuff to look forward to!” Nick: let’s put it this way, there is going to be a fair bit to talk about pretty soon :-)

Nick

Yes, sorry, I can well imagine :(. And we couldn’t say anything as a spoiler. I hope you weren’t planning on completing any more reactions for other series straight after!!

kamenriderhime

Of course, you were awesome about not spoiling it for me, I truly appreciate it!!! Thank God I wasn't lol, but funny story, I did have to pick up my dog at the groomer's after....and I kept breaking down crying on the way there....I was so desperately trying to suck it up so they didn't ask me what was wrong LOL!!!! Something tells me they might not quite understand if I tried to explain it to them :P

Nick

Oh no! I can definitely empathise with your predicament - it’s both sad and really funny at the same time 🥺😁. Funny because I would have been exactly the same. Still, I’m looking forward (and not looking forward!) to your reaction when it gets posted - and then having a natter about it afterwards!

Saltire

You watched them on my birthday as well Mel, yep they do hit hard and every time I've watched them knowing whats coming, I have tears in my eyes - we'll discuss it more on Monday, already have most of my notes typed up already in preparation! :P I'm glad you didn't get spoiled though, nothing worse than knowing about something before seeing it; which is why I tend to avoid trailers these days in particular for shows and film series I love.

Nick

At what point does discussing some of the details near the end of The Rise of Skywalker not become a spoiler: perhaps bringing that up Monday is okay? Having said that, some might have expunged this whole film from canon in their own minds, so that there is in effect nothing to discuss :-)

Saltire

I think it should be fine as for what they went with in that film, it does make sense. I actually enjoyed it a fair bit when I went to see it (was the last film I saw at the cinema back in 2019 now!). I didn't know what they were going to do with it as I hadn't seen the trailers, but as I went in, saw what they were going for, switched my brain off and had a lot of fun with it; and there is another scene in that film I may speak about as well tomorrow if we speak about ROS.

kamenriderhime

Nick - thanks, I think it's a bit sad and funny all at once too lol! The reactions are up now, I hope you enjoy them!!!! I got so much out of them!!! Looking forward to hearing what you think! Saltire - HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!! I am just now catching up on comments but can't wait to hear your thoughts on the two eps I just posted! I hear you about spoilers, I've been fortunate to be surrounded by fellow fans who are super respectful about it, but there's really nothing worse! As far as Rise of Skywalker goes, I've seen it so I wouldn't really consider anything about it to be spoilers! I'll be excited if there's tie-ins to Rebels in it!!!!! XD

Nick

Hi Mel. There are two Rebel tie ins (one definite, one potential) to the Rise of Skywalker that I know of. The one I was thinking of above is when Rey is battling it out with Palpatine she hears a lot of Jedi voices: one of which is Kanan. Another is that you see what looks remarkably like the Ghost ship eg at the Battle of Exegol but also I think possibly on the planet where Leia is. I suppose it could just be the same model of ship but I think many/ some people believe it is THE Ghost.

Nick

Sorry Saltire, I’ve realised I meant to say happy birthday but somehow it went out my head typing out a post. Mel’s post just above reminded me!

kamenriderhime

WHOA, no kidding, Kanan's voice is in there?! I thought it'd be something way more subtle! Also a Ghost sighting sounds fantastic, I need to go back and see it for sure. I'd like to think maybe it's the actual Ghost too :D

Nick

It is hard to spot - or at least I’m not good at identifying voices that way. But as a big Kanan fan (ie I’m openly biased!) I think there is something very right about his voice being there :-)

kamenriderhime

I hear you! Lol same here! And it makes me happy and, I don't know...comforted maybe?? To hear that his voice is in there ^_^

Nick

Ah, so you went back and had a listen :-). But yes comforted is a good way of putting it!

kamenriderhime

I actually didn't get a chance to yet, but just knowing his voice is in there makes me happy, like he's never really gone, as corny as it sounds :D

Nick

It certainly doesn’t sound corny here :-)
