Hey everyone!  Here I am with Jojo season 1, episode 20!!!  OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!  CAESAR NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I was surprised to see what a rough youth Caesar had had, and just how he came into the knowledge of his lineage / taking up the mantle himself.  Caesar was relentless and even when he knew he couldn't win, he looked out for his friend.  The ending was just too sad!!!  Even Lisa Lisa couldn't hold it in, no matter how hard she tried!!!  RIP Caesar, you'll be missed!!!!!!!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Also it sucks there's no way to prepare you for this fight without spoilers

RIP Ceaser... I kind of wish we had a moment where he defeated A Pillar man... But alas, we could not. :c This is where the Zeppeli family line ends, and it's a huge loss. May his spirit live on in future Jojo Bros. 🙏

Hi Hime :) It can be said that Caesar had a real crushing death (maybe it's too soon, but a good pun could heal a little bit). Going back to Kars, you said he wasn't so bad because he saved the puppy, now he was careful not to crush the flowers. In truth Kars respects life, except that of humans. So yes, not so bad, at least not as bad as Dio, but surely as cruel and merciless with humans. And you got the reason for Kars' laughter. Just as Esidisi was crying after losing his arm to calm down, Kars laughs. A detail about Caesar's headband, with which he attached Wamuu's rings. In the opening you can see Joseph putting on the headband while shouting (when the song is about bond, Kizuna in Japanese). Everyone who knows the manga knew what it was referring to, now you do too. And it's really an experience that I recommend to you, to review the opening after having finished a part, because you will see all the hidden references there. For those who know the manga, the openings are full of spoilers, well enough hidden for some, so that newcomers don't see them, but they become obvious afterwards. For the death of Caesar, I would be lying to you if I told you that there will not be another so sad, but it is surely the first with so much impact, thanks to the staging, acting and music. Just put a picture of Joseph crying and screaming and anyone who has seen Jojo will comment "Shiiizaaaaaa" (which is the Japanese pronunciation of Caesar). I know I've said this more than once, but with that scene in mind, keeping in mind that it was maybe 1988/1989 when it was released in Japan, you can imagine that had a certain influence on a lot of authors after that. Obviously Togashi for Hunter X Hunter, who also knew how to manage the death of certain important characters (and their return for some). But even certain deaths in Dragon Ball make me think of this scene, especially when certain iconic ones (the death of Krillin facing Frieza or Piccolo protecting Gohan), comes well after Caesar's. This is one of the reasons, once again, that Jojo is a reference for the Japanese, death can be brutal and sudden or magnified and sacrificial, but they rarely leave you indifferent.

You know, telling someone’s backstory in an anime isn’t always a good sign… Caesar might’ve survived, if he’d just listened to everyone else but he got too prideful and let his rage take control of him. A lesson, no doubt, that Jojo is going to need to take to heart as, Lisa Lisa points out, isn’t over yet. I’m pretty sure the stone’s shape was intentional. Although Wamuu won, it seems he’s completely devoid of emotion and only calculates based on strength and respect, while Caesar’s death had a much different effect in his friends. What does it mean to be human? Is there an advantage to having emotional empathy, or is it better to not be burdened by those feelings? I get the feeling they’re asking which side of the coin to be on. But anyway, based on the events of this week (I haven’t seen every reaction because some shows I’m not current on, but you’ve hinted at this), I would just like to point out: it wouldn’t be the week before Christmas without a healthy dose of emotional trauma, would it? 😂

Manny

Wow that was too too soon. I thought he’d get more time than this. This show holds no mercy for any character. :,(

kamenriderhime

Yes so close, I'm scared and excited all at once!! I know, you guys were awesome, I had no clue what was coming!!

kamenriderhime

I know!!!!! He got such a nice ending compared to others though lol. Awww so sad that there are no more Zeppeli's! Absolutely, may his legacy know no end!!!

kamenriderhime

Yeah, I should've known lol. So true that he kinda went in against everyone's better judgment. So true, as sad as it is, we need to learn from this and stay calm as we hopefully finish up this battle. Makes sense about the stone. Hmm, interesting ethical/philosophical questions here, it does make you think! Hahahha omg this week has had toku levels of Christmas drama, what the heck!!!

kamenriderhime

Hi Spadeas! :) Ohhhhhhh hahahaha so soon but also a good one! Good call about the flowers, he does seem to value life except for humans. Interesting about Kars' laughter, seems like they each have some sort of emotional point. OHHHHHH that's what the headband part of the intro means, woooowww!! That's a great idea, there's probably so many Easter eggs in there! Wow, I'm not surprised that Caesar's is the most impactful death, emotionally. The whole thing was really well done! I can totally see the influence in later artists!! Excellent ultimate point about death, wow!!

Sirghostfreak

You just have six episodes left don't get me wrong I think battle tendency is awesome but with six just left I wish you'd do like three this and next week just to get to star dust crusaders sooner also has anyone told you or have you found a place for the subs people said you should use for star dust crusaders going forward?

IQLou

Been a long time YouTube sub, always loved your AoT and MHA reactions! You're a very kind hearted and empathetic person. Subbed to your patron specifically to catch up to this episode and I forgot how much I loved your content!! Will stick around for Stardust Crusaders! Keep bringing the great vibes, loved this reaction!!

kamenriderhime

I hear you, I'd love to just binge watch them! Unfortunately I don't have time, but also I wouldn't wanna watch too many at once and risk missing something important with no break in between for you guys to point it out! I actually need to start asking about the different place to watch, good call! Thanks for the reminder!

kamenriderhime

YAY!! That's so awesome, welcome aboard!!! :) I truly appreciate your kind words and I'm really happy you enjoy my reactions!! So happy you're liking my Jojo reactions too!!! I'm scared to see where things are gonna wrap up here, but from what I'm hearing, Stardust Crusaders is pretty exciting so I'll look forward to it!!! Thanks so much for all the kind words :D

Poor Caesar...I call it the curse of the Zeppeli bloodline. Wamuu deserves my respect for keeping the bubble alone, and now we're gonna have Jojo and Lisa Lisa vs Kars and Wamuu...Yeah I'm kinda scared for this one :O Loved your reactions, gonna see the next ones :)

kamenriderhime

I know!! :( That's true about the bubble too, Wamuu's not all bad I guess. Oof, I've seen the next two and they are intense!!! Can't wait for you to see my reactions, hope you enjoy them!
