Hey everyone!  Here I am with Jojo season 1, episode 12!!!  WOW guys, I thought I'd seen everything....and then I saw The Pillar Man!!!  I was holding out hope for so long that maybe he might be a friend and/or be reasoned with.  I guess we still don't know an awful lot about him, but dang, the carnage in this one was pretty brutal!!  As nasty as it was, you can't help but see the irony when this one soldier is just SO BEGGING to be killed with all his nonsense lol.  So glad Jojo finally showed up!  Let's grab Speedwagon, subdue Pillar Man, and get the heck outta here!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Dressing up like a girl to fool people like a certain bunny with a name that rhymes with 'Rugs Runny'.... Yep, Joseph is still taking pages out of the Looney Toon tactic book. 🤣

Hi Hime :) Rudol Von Stroheim takes his name from Erich Von Stroheim, a man of cinema this time, but we stay in Western culture. His style, particularly being a blonde patriot military man with a straight haircut, would be picked up by Capcom with Street Fighter's Guile. But again, many manga designs have inspired fighting games (mechanics, but we'll come back to that) But yes, we have a Nazi here, with Indiana Jones as a reference for Jojo, it's not surprising in the end. Santana, who is renamed Santviento here, is of course named after Carlos Santana. It is as you have heard of a pillar men, one of the new threats introduced here, more dangerous than vampires. Joseph disguised as a woman is often taken as a meme, because let's face it, it's frankly surprising and comical at the same time. The humor that Joseph brings is really refreshing and that's why he is one of my favorite JoJo of the license.

Actually, the pillar man name is Santana. I think that one in the sub is the localized one to avoid any similarity with his name motif.

So, I guess the thing here is that Jojo can both find his way out of a prickly situation and he’s also capable of dealing with pricks. Although I’m not sure about the disguise… Someone mentioned that Indiana Jones is part of the inspiration for Joseph. That’s.appropriate, because did anyone else get Raiders of the Lost Ark vibes during the Santviento scene when a bunch of Nazis start messing with stuff they shouldn’t try to open? 😉 One question: if you are sleeping soundly and someone wakes you up would you be in a good mood? Oh… I think I see a hand reaching through your ventilation shaft behind you. Tacos anyone? 👀

Hi Spadeas! :) Oh, that's interesting! I heard about the Street Fighter inspiration, that's wild! Ohhh yeah, another Indiana Jones reference, nice! So cool about the Santana reference!! The Pillar Man seems way more dangerous for sure. Omg, Jojo's "disguise"!!!! I do find the humor refreshing as well!!!!! I can see why it's one of your faves!!!

Yes! The best waifu Speedwagon is still alive! And Joseph is here to save the day! It’s only going to get more intense from here This is also where we start to get more localized names, names that the English dub and sub changed due to copyright. They’re also changed for the English translation of the manga. Santviento’s name was originally Santana. Some of the name changes aren’t so bad, but some are just awful haha. I’m loving your reactions! They’re one of the things I look forward to every week now :)

2022-12-31 00:14:12 These episodes are insane & ridiculous I really enjoy them as well as your reactions. I love that the title is referencing how Joseph is a smart/clever trickster. The back and forth of the fight against Straizo is so well done. I really like that Straizo is able to counteract Hamon because of his knowledge of it. The moment with the grenades is ridiculous because how did Joseph have so many of them & attach them without being noticed but you don’t ask those questions in this show LOL. Straizo dragging himself together might be the most disturbing thing in the snow so far. The narrator giving the stats of a vampire’s powers was not necessary but it just works. The poor reporter at least she might still get a good story out of this. Joseph feels like the type of character who would just insult someone because of his bluntness but I like that he is just trying to stall as he comes up with a plan. The way Joseph defeats him is awesome. I don’t think it was about saving Joseph it was more about having enjoyed and wanting to die with the youth he regained. But Straizo definitely did not want the pillar man to wake up & thankfully that allowed my boy Speedwagon to live even if it’s in a bad situation. Listen it sucks but they are Nazis so I would be shocked if they weren’t despicable in one way or another. And it’s always the way that people in fiction will mess with things they don’t understand. The Pillar Man’s abilities are disturbing & gross especially everything to do with taking over and controlling the one soldier. Joseph’s entrance is awesome. Also using hair as an attack/shield is very inventive. And of course it ends when things are getting even crazier. You will need the help from us as things get even more bizarre & I will be there to see you losing your mind LOL but also to support you. I can’t wait for the next 2 episodes and reactions. Awesome reactions & keep up the great work. :-) <3

YAY!!! Omg, I can't imagine more intense, but this show will find a way!! Ah ok, I didn't realize the changes were starting so early. Interesting that it was Santana!! Yikes, sounds like they really phoned in some of the name changes, that's too bad! YAY!!! I'm so happy to hear that!! Thank you for watching along with me!!! :D

Yay! So glad to hear that! The fight with Straizo was great, and such a nice touch that he knows Hamon so well he can defend against it. Hahahha yeah I'm learning just not to ask questions :P Yeah the pulling together scene was nasty! Joseph did great stalling, although I could totally see him just blurting something out too haha. Ah ok, so it's more about getting the heck outta dodge before the Pillar Man arrives, got it. YAY Speedwagon!!! Yes I shouldn't be surprised that the Nazis would be doing something bad I guess. Using hair was a great idea! Hahahaha oh no, sounds like the "best" is yet to come!!! I am behind this week and haven't filmed the next two but now I'm dying to lol. Speedwagon is alive, Straizo has been done quickly and now we have Joseph vs Santana (=Santviento)...Let's see if Joseph's tale will be as grand as his grandfather's one. Gonna see your next reactions now ^^
