Hey everyone!  Here I am with Jojo season 1, episode 8!!!  WHOA, we are taking out new friends left and right, holy crap!!!  What a tense back and forth showdown between Jojo and Dio here...!  Can we just take a moment to appreciate how insane it is to see someone SPLIT IN HALF and still going?!  Also, Jojo embodies resilience and determination, sheesh!!!  So, he's gone (???)!!!  I don't think I'm buying it that this is the last of Dio for good, but why not have a nice break from the madness for a bit anyway lol.  Can't wait to see where we go from here!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

I keep forgetting that Part 1 is 9 episodes, I always think the final battle is so much longer than it actually is. xD I'm not sure if it's this episode or the next(and I gotta go to work in a bit so I can't check atm), but once you hear sound effects in the OP... That means that OP is on it's way out. v_v So if you heard sound effects... Farewell Sonochi no Sadame... ...If you didn't, be sure to sing along to the last: "JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOJO!" next episode. xD ...Either way if you're worried about the quality of the next OP after starting off on such a high bar... Don't. The next OP is a bop as well. :D

Hi Hime :) I said his episodes would cut you in half between sadness and joy. It was, of course, a terrible pun about the death of Zeppeli. It shocked more than one, but it won't be the last. Nobody has plot armor in this series, it's even on the contrary, sometimes the "villain" who have trouble dying lol. Dire and Straizo, the two other Hamon users, are a reference for Dire Straits "I will not force my friendship", Erina would not agree with this statement from Dio, since he had kissed her by force... Consent, Dio does not know so much. Doobie is indeed a reference to the Doobie Brothers, well done. Pajyu, Jones, Pluton and Barnum, are the names of the four zombies attacking Straizo, their names in the subtitles have been changed since each is a reference to the name of a member of Led Zeppelin (Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, Robert Plant and John Bonham). Another reference to Led Zep, Araki must have liked the band. I would have much more to say, but it would be better to wait for episodes 9 and 10 to talk about it. But just by the way, any remarks about Speedwagon getting Zeppeli's hat? That way, both Jojo and Speedwagon inherited him.

Have you noticed that Speedwagon now wore Zeppeli's hat? Fun Fact: One of the Jojo's 1st opening performer said that he want a phase to be sing by everyone when this song is selected in Karaoke place, so he come up with the phase JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOJO!!!

There’s a few things you mention in this episode. Statements… that are causing laughter in the party chat. If you come back and see them much later, you’ll know WHY we’re laughing. Anyway, have you noticed the intro lyrics and how they relate to the show yet? You’re running out of time before they change it up… Poco’s sister isn’t afraid of anything it seems… not even Dio. Some humans just don’t scare easy. As far as the hybrid dog/man thing… eh, don’t ask about stuff like that. It’s Jojo. It is kind of telling how throughout the fight it’s basically a fire vs ice battle and each one is trying desperately to outdo the other element, just like it’s combatants. I get the feeling Dio’s VA had a lot of fun screaming Useless! In Japanese over and over like a maniac. I can totally do without the whole carotid artery scene though… but like I said… some things will just go in the vault. Jojo won. But what does it mean? He defeated Dio, but is he destroyed? And if that hurdle truly has been removed: what happens next? Very observant of you: You’re indeed asking the right questions. But you’re nowhere near prepared for the answers to them. 😅

Yay hasta luego Dio. 👋 You're so right he is like Cartman in that sense buahaha Seriously tho I know it's a bizarre show but I can't hold down my lunch at this point. We're not even that far in. But the hands in the arteries thing is too much. And don't get me started on all this splitting up

Yeah it feels like quite a full story even after 9 eps! Oh, no kidding about the sound effects signaling the OP going away!! Ahhhh I'm filming the next eps today, I'll be sure to sing along! I'm so glad to hear there will be great openings in the future too!!!!!!!

Yay, glad I got the Doobie Bros. reference! OHHHHH if the subs hadn't been changed I totally would have gotten that reference!!! I love Led Zeppelin too haha. Awwww I didn't realize that he got Zeppeli's hat, but I love that!!!!!!!! They did both inherit him!!

love all the noises Dio makes in this episode sdfdsfs, must've had a lot of fun in the recording booth there. Great reactions so far, without giving anything specific away I'm really excited to see what you think about certain things that happen in the next couple of episodes, lots of fun to come!

Hahahaha Dio's noises are legendary!!! I can imagine a lot of fun was had for sure lol. I'm so happy you're enjoying my reactions!!! I actually filmed the next two already and.....WOW.......I'm still in shock!!!!!!!!!!!! :O Can't believe they did what they did with the story haha, but I'm down to see more!

I think I've never seen someone so overjoyed with someone else's death xD But yes, next episode will be the end of Phantom Blood, what will our heroes do next? Hope you enjoyed part 1 of Jojo, even with the puppies and baby "getting the stick instead of the carrot"

LOL I was really on board to see Dio get it!! I've seen the next few eps now and I was SHOCKED at what happens next....!!!! Also, "getting the stick end of the carrot" might be my new favorite saying!!! Brilliant!!!!!!!!! XD

2022-12-31 00:39:59 These were great episodes & reactions. I don’t think every show needs this but I do love when shows have themes of destiny as well as inherited will. I enjoy thinking about if being told your destiny makes it happen because it influences you or if it really is set in stone. With this show it feels like the latter but I love the meaning this still has because Zeppeli is doing this for Jonathan. The flashback is great especially the music. The situation was dire so this sacrifice was necessary but it is still very sad. It’s ridiculous that he was able to give this monologue in this badly injured state but I’m glad he got to have this heartfelt moment before the end and was able to give more inspiration to Jonathan. I like the detail of Zeppeli growing old after passing on his life force. The moment of Jonathan’s power up is amazing from the animation and music to all the emotions of grief and righteous fury pushing him. Also it’s just an awesome moment with Jonathan breaking iron. Zeppeli’s comrades are fun. I feel like the human animal hybrids are just Dio being silly/having fun in the most messed up way possible. I respect Poco’s sister for being so strong in the face of this terrifying vampire and zombies very courageous. I think it’s great character writing that Dio fancies himself a gentleman when he’s really not making use of the mirroring of him and Jonathan which is awesome. I love how cool everyone is against the zombies/Dio. Unfortunately Dio has crazy strength and skill in addition to his powers which is bad for everyone. Poor Dire but what a way to go out I love that his final act was infuriating Dio LOL. There was a lot of disgusting stuff in this battle but it does a great job of showcasing his menace & regenerative powers. Also it’s great to hear more of Dio’s glorious voice actor. I love that victory happened because of cleverness & not just physical strength alone. One final thing is that I really appreciate the ice versus fire motif going on. Awesome reaction and keep up the great work. :-) <3

Yes!! And thanks!! I agree, it's nice to have those themes here. The passing of the torch was a great scene and also a great touch about the instant aging like you said. So sad! Yeah Poco's sister was a boss! Yes that is great writing, hadn't thought about it but it's true! Yeah I couldn't believe how he was cleaning house, dang! Little gross for sure but definitely showed off some abilities!! Dio's VA was amazing! Ohhh yeah good call on the fire vs. ice motif!! Thank you so much, so glad you enjoyed it! ^_^
