Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 3, episode 6 of REBELS!!!! Or should I say CLONE WARS!!!!!!!!!!  WHAT!!!  You guys, this episode was so special on so many levels.  Rex and even some disillusioned battle droids getting closure and learning to work towards a common goal; Ezra coming in and promoting some REAL healing here; and the way they toyed with me on the ending!!!!  I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, I was so wistful and nostalgic!  What an amazing love letter to one of my favorite series of all time.  How on earth are they gonna top this?!
Great ep!  Enjoy!!!  ~ MH

The ending is a little cheesy but this is a fun episode, and a rare occasion where we focus on Rex.

We have to remember when this aired there was no season 7 of Clone Wars. When Disney took over and dropped TCW to make Rebels, a lot were a bit miffed. So this episode I think was a thanks from the creators and a nostalgic nod, to give closure on that series (well until we it got resurrected for that final season!). So not only was it closure for Rex and the super tactical droid (who btw was the droid in the Saw Gerrera and Steela arc), it was for the fans of TCW. A lovely touch. So our crew didn't get the bombs, but did get a new Phantom. You take what you can get! I thought you'd enjoy that outro!

“Battles leave scars. Some you can’t see.” I think while Kanan was talking about Rex, the Separatist Droid (ergo, they had his name in the subtitles but I forgot already) - also was suffering from a similar fate. It really just wanted to know who would’ve won without interference. I was a little disappointed you were talking over it when Chopper first snuck off because if you weren’t, you would’ve heard the familiar Battle Droid sound in the background before they actually showed up. I’m only into S1 of Clone Wars myself but pretty much anyone who’s in the franchise can kind of draw a plot line from Clone Wars to where we currently are. Ezra might have unwittingly given closure to one if the greatest conflicts in the galaxy. Sometimes the most complicated answers have the simplest solutions. He also asked the two most important questions of the period. 1. If neither of you won the war, who did? 2. Who’s Roger? We never bothered to ask that did we? 😅 Also… I’m gonna break your brain for a minute… if the Republic became the Empire and the Separatists were the Alliance… does that mean that General Grievous was the first rebel hero? 🙃 Have fun sleeping on that one!

That was like a nice yet very serious field day. I’m very impressed that Ezra found the middle ground which resulted in a fine closing. I really did have to hear it just to process he in fact ended this war between two sides like no one else did. A lot may never now but it’s astounding to think about it.

kamenriderhime

True!! Yeah Ezra was able to perceive that situation really quickly. It was nice to hear it out loud right?! There's so many who will never know the exact details yet knowing that our crew knows, really helps for some reason!

kamenriderhime

Ohhhh that's a great point! I hadn't even thought of that! I guess this was their way of trying to smooth it over haha. Sounds like it worked!! Yeah I mean at least we didn't come away empty handed!!!! OMG I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time at the outro!!!!!!

kamenriderhime

Such a great quote! Yeah that must have been maddening for the droid! Oh, well I guess I was just extra surprised since I didn't hear the noise :P Yeah, if you know the franchise, you pretty much know where Clone Wars ends up! It's the journey that's so interesting. I know right!!! It took the simple clarity of a young person who wasn't that close to it to give some good resolution. HAHAHAHA Who's Roger was an equally important question :P AHHHHHHHHH no do not put that in my head about Grievous!!! I won't claim that negative energy :P LOL!!!

I’d forgotten about the Clone Wars outro at the end of this one, and I now see what Saltire meant. What I like most about your reactions to Rebels isn’t your insightful thoughts (although I like that too!) but rather the fact that you clearly appreciate the series at its true worth :-)

kamenriderhime

YAY!! Hahaha loved the outro! Aww thanks, I really appreciate that! I'm so glad my love of the show comes through in my reactions!!!
