Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction to episode 142!  OMG!!!!!!!  Oh dang guys!!!
I thought Gotoh had half a chance....I was wrong!  Shoot, that didn't take 5 minutes for Hisoka to do his work.  On top of that, we have the crazy imagery of Tsubone turning into a motorcycle (?!?!?!) and Killua just keeps outsmarting everyone.  Oh yeah, and he has NO chill when it comes to Illumi, why would he!  I say send every hunter there is after him!!  Can't wait to see where this is all going!  Great ep!  Enjoy!!  ~ MH

As much as I hate Gotoh's death, I feel like it's kind of needed for the show. Like the whole series you kind of hear how much of a bastard Hisoka can be, but by this point he's been more helpful to the protagonists than hurtful. Like even though he beat Gon in Heaven's Arena, that was a fight that Gon was after and Gon managed to get what he wanted from it and Hisoka spared him. In York New he worked with Kurapika in order to betray the Spiders. And while in Greed Island he was looking for someone to remove Kurapika's nen from Chrollo, 1. Hisoka wanted a fight to the death with Chrollo, so if Hisoka gets what he wants... Chrollo is not going to live long enough to enjoy having his Nen back.. And 2. He helped out Gon and Killua with the Dodgeball game, to the point that at the very end when they could've won by default he's like: "Oh no no no, that's not the kind of victory Gon wants!"... Hell in THIS VERY ARC, he made Killua aware of his brother's presence by making Illumi let out his murderous intent at Hisoka. Like he's done some evil shit over the series, but most of the time it's against people that were looking for trouble, were just nameless background characters, or was just that one guy with the Nen body double technique in Heaven's Arena... While cruel, I don't feel like that cruelty makes much of a lasting impression. Hisoka killing Gotoh just ends up being a huge reminder that Hisoka *isn't* a friend or ally, and him souring any thoughts about it otherwise at the very end of the show is pretty fitting.

Gotoh's strictness was always out of love for the family. He's one of those early memories of the show. RIP 👉💨 🪙

I hear you, they had to go this far to have a sort of payoff for Hisoka's built-up craziness lol. So true that we've seen him be "on our side' several times and they just had to shake us up to remind us that Hisoka is on NO ONE'S side but his own!!!! Poor Gotoh.....point taken though....sheesh!
