Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction to episode 135!  WOW........!!!!!!!  I just......I just can't believe we are here in this moment, with this particular individual!  All the malice, power hunger, etc. falls away, until the world is just these two people, sharing their last moments.  I'm just still utterly blown away by this whole episode!!!
When we met Meruem - heck, even just a few eps ago - I did NOT picture shedding tears at one of the most beautiful scenes in an anime.  Yet here we are!  What's more is they're already setting us up for the next arc, which looks to be a short one, but will deal with the consequences of Netero's loss.  WOW guys......after a long arc like this, I thought I'd be exhausted.  But I'm not........I just feel......sad but in a beautiful way.  :)  Great ep!  Enjoy!!  ~ MH

The Lazy Genius

you really being harsh on the king when said " so maybe he would try to rule if he didn't know he was dying " when he was talking with palm, you never gives him a benifit of the doubt lol which I get it he is suppose to be a villain but even he was being nice and humble to netero during their fight, if I knew my enemy have poisoned me and I only have short time to live normal people reaction would I go search for a medicine, or I make as much of destruction as I can as revenge before I die, but anyways I feel like the king was a great character from the beginning he was misunderstood and misguided, he was a curious child, imagine if he met gon and killua, they would have brought a pureness and rightious out of him but komugi also did that and they had a beautiful moment together

kamenriderhime

Lol well after he went back and forth because of not having his memories, I don't think I was willing to trust him fully until the very end. :P I agree that he was more or less a child, just trying to figure out the world as it was laid out in front of him by the Royal Guards, but then being so influenced by Komugi. True that if you couldn't meet Gon or Killua, Komugi was pretty wholesome and had a great effect too!

Just like episode 131, the final episode of that arc is another one of the best in anime in general imo, concluding Meruem’s arc from a monster you want to see defeated, to bawling at his death is unbelievable. The execution on it was perfect. Every time I watch this it has me crying like 90% of the episode, it’s one of the most beautiful things I think I’ve ever watched.

kamenriderhime

I can totally see that reasoning! What a swerve they pulled on us with Meruem like that, dang. I agree, it was so well done. Awww I'm glad you're moved by it, it's amazing and emotional for sure!!!

the best and saddest episodes.

Ah shit. It doesn't matter how many times I watch this episode. And I've watched it at least a few dozen times by now through other reactions and rewatching the show on my own. But it's always raining when I watch it, even if the skies are clear.

kamenriderhime

Awwww!!!!! I totally get it!! It's carefully crafted to kick us in the feels no matter what!!!!!!!!

Dillon Hansel

It's such an amazing moment too because you don't realize until after the fact that your heart just shattered for the fucking VILLAIN of the arc. Meruem's character growth and development was a phenomenal piece of writing and when it's coupled with the slow process of Gon breaking down because he is a 13 year old child who's had A LOT of trauma thrown at him in the span of about a year, and you're left with my absolute favorite story arc in all of anime.

Hi Hime :) Do you remember when I said that matter of malice and cruelty, Meruem is not the king, but humanity, that's why. The bomb was not made just to blow up the king and cause him damage, but also to poison him and make sure he died. Knowing that it is a weapon that has been used many times by humans in the past, it is easy to imagine the number of deaths they could have done. On this account, Meruem is himself only a drop of water in comparison... I read a comment under a youtube video which seems to me to define this arc well, this arc exchanged places between Gon and Meruem. We started with Gon who was hopeful and wanted to save Kite, to end without mercy in complete abandonment of all as long as he can destroy his enemy. Meruem started out as a ruthless being desperate to rule the world, only to end up wanting to spend his time with Komugi. Now that you've finally seen this episode, I can already imagine you crying again seeing their meeting and the narrator saying that she would change his fate, when you edit for youtube (for info, I'm writing this just at the same time as you say it in your video, so you confirm what I thought). Just a little thing, the final scene of Komugi and Meruem together, is mostly a reproduction of the manga with some added colors. I reviewed it recently and I can tell you, it's still one of the most beautiful pages I've seen in all manga. I share it with you below, not to make you cry again, but just so that you can appreciate his work too. https://www.zupimages.net/up/22/35/hic8.jpg Togashi and his health problems have often been criticized because it makes him render pages sometimes unfinished (but corrected for the release of the volumes), it does not prevent him from remaining a talented author when it comes to transmitting emotions and the management of his line, simple when necessary, but super precise and realistic for the moments that deserve it. Without too much spoiler once again, I would just say that next week, maybe not tears, but you will surely have a cry of joy with a little surprise that I tried to tease you many times hehe 😉.

It wasn't that long ago that HXHs finally arcs were still not available on any platform. Not even Funimation or crunchyroll. At the time I was bummed cause I wanted to just binge but I'm glad bc Netflix was the first platform I think to have added more. And on Netflix, after Komugis face goes to white an image was shown. And I could not have been able to withstand seeing the finale episode of the arc again without it. It was very sweet of him to have drawn that. https://www.reddit.com/r/HunterXHunter/comments/ger8jd/komugi_and_meruem_together_forever_drawn_by/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb

OMG THE PHOTO :'D No kidding about the final arcs! I didn't know that. Uggghhh so many feels!

kamenriderhime

Hi Spadeas! :) Oof, I think you're right that in the end, humanity was the most cruel. To kill an enemy is one thing, but to inflict a slow-moving poison.......wow. WOOOWWWW I did not think about it until just now, but Meruem and Gon totally switched places here...!! Oh yes, I'll be coming up soon on editing that one, and I'll be a mess for sure! WOW, the artwork really is beautiful. I didn't realize he had health problems, that's too bad. He still really comes through with the story though! OMG I hope it's about Kite :D I see no way he could still be alive but I'll keep that hope going until the last ep if I have to!!!!!!!!

kamenriderhime

RIGHT?!?!?! I'm like wait what?! I couldn't agree more, the slow build-up and break down of these two characters was utterly amazing. This arc was a masterpiece!
