Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 2 episode 15 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime!  Well, we don't actually get much of Ramiris' warning in here, but we do get a lot of progress made when it comes to our diplomatic relations!  In the past, it's always been fairly straightforward to get other places on our side.  But as we climb the ladder of difficulty in terms of political scheming ad such, we have to make a bit more of a display, as we saw with getting Thalion on our side here.  We are slowly but surely gearing up for something big!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

This one is definitely exposition heavy so I’ll just blow through some of the sticking points. Diablo, that’s not a fly, that’s a Demon Lord, and she’s not bugging anyone. Ramiris is a pretty big talker until she gets put on the chest of “the Breeze Dragon,” as she likes to call him. Man, the disrespect! 😂 Rimuru is doing a lot of things and moving a lot of pieces, but starting a civil war? Gotta say, that’s a little darker for him than usual. Maybe what’s happened to his own JTF has made him decide to take more poignant actions. I don’t recall exactly how the conversation went, but I do believe Clayman was listening when Mjurran told Rimuru she was working for him, so he probably took the supposed killing of his subordinate as a direct act of defiance. He also mentioned he’s still in need of souls to truly awaken… so does this mean Rimuru’s stronger already? The most interesting piece in the episode however is Clayman’s line, “the only ones who can give me orders are Lord Kazalim and the one I am indebted to.” We know where Kazalim is. Who is this indebtor, and why? 🤔

Hahaha yeah someone needs to help Diablo understand that is NOT a bug! Hahaha it's all fun and games until you find yourself staring at a dragon right! Yeah it's quite....shifty, even for Rimuru! I think he definitely takes these things a lot more seriously now. Ah thanks for clarifying about Mjurran, makes sense! I guess that would mean Rimuru is a true demon lord but Clayman isn't yet, yeah! Ohhhh true, who is the indebtor....??? So many questions!!!

Ramiris recognized Veldora right away, unlike almost everyone else, didn't she? Haha.....Actually that civil war was chosen as the plan because it wouldn't affect the ordinary citizens as much. At one point Rimuru actually says that , listening to an update on Diablo's plan, "Wow, he really understands my ideals." So there's that.

Once again I lost a comment. Please help? Thanks.

Here it is! That's a great question, who is in control? It's not always obvious, because it takes several arcs to get to the ultimate answer, and it's also complicated, but you might(?) guess one. Clayman doesn't actually believe Carrion instigated Rimuru to become a Demon Lord, he's planning to use this lie as an excuse for breaking the pact, and for making Rimuru look bad. Actually Thalion, Dwargon, and Blumund don't have many Church members in their countries, and so they don't want to get too involved with the Church. So they are some of the least wary of monsters. Contrast that with Farmus, where the Church is the state religion...Rimuru's ideals represent one kind of society, and I think one the high-level themes of the whole Slime story is, what is the best wayto live. Some of the conflicts of Slime have to do with not only Rimuru's, but other people's ideas on how the people will be happiest, or simply what kind of rule there should be. .... Rimuru limits his attacks to people who attack him first. This is mainly for two reasons: he wants to live comfortably in a happy world with many comforts, and more importantly he never wants to lose anyone again. He'll do just about anything to avoid it. Another major theme is quality over quantity in war. Rimuru said it himself in this episode.

kamenriderhime

Yes she did!! And interesting, I suppose that does affect them less. Oh, that says a lot that Diablo is so in sync with Rimuru, or vice versa!

kamenriderhime

That's the thing right!!! Okay I was going back and forth wondering if he was lying or if he really believed it. Makes sense they wanna limit their involvement with the Church. Hmmm, that is an interesting high-level approach isn't it? At the end of the day it's all kind of subjective. Yes, good point on quality over quantity too. Makes total sense that he wants to limit the need for battle!

myst0dreamer

Yeah, in that feudal monarchy with nobles he considers it a fight between noble factions.
