Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to the season 8 soundtrack, yayyy!!  Oh wow guys, I knew it was gonna be good, but this was just above and beyond good!  Jeff never, ever disappoints!!!  If I was forced to pick a favorite, I'd have to go with the Caboose ones for obvious reasons.  But wow, getting Church and Sarge songs that were SO clever and hilarious was also amazing!!!!  The title track was a real banger as well, and I liked the cute/sweet pop love song too!!!!  Ahhhh they're all so good!  So, SO glad I did this reaction!  See you in Season 9!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

This popped into my recommendations from Youtube today, I guess it wasn't lost to time after all. https://youtube.com/watch?v=Rmc661a9IRY&feature=share

Will probably have to wait til i get home from work to watch this!

I wonder if the music video for "I am the Best" is still floating around? I can't remember if they ever put it on YouTube or not. The funniest thing was that they had Monty animate an Elite dancing around and rapping for that part.

Yup, that was Sandy Lee Casey, Casey's Mom, singing with Jeff in I Say Oooo. And this marks Lamar's first appearance in RT projects. Get ready for alot more of him lol I really loved this.

"Red vs Blue" wasn't the theme of Season 8, it was played during the end credits. But I'm really glad you enjoyed it. My personal favorite track of Volume 8 is easily "I Say Ooh". It's essentially a sappy love song written for the 2 characters who are afraid to let their love for each other and other emotions show. Not to mention Church and Tex are 2 of my top 3 favorite RT characters, so I may be a little biased.

Canonman28

Yeah Jeff made this and the rest is history 😂 Also this is on the soundtrack. It’s from a mini series they did to promote the new game https://youtu.be/Dg5Wy_QAWgo it’s random but it is sarge singing 😂

The OST for 9 and 10 POP OFF and I can’t wait!

Before you get TOO excited, the OSTs only go through Season 10. After that, Jeff had… another project. 😏 However, this album is indeed his first LARGE project for RT. Anyway, I’m not nearly as versed in RvB Music as RWBY but I’ll do what I can. The synthetic sound you heard in Red vs. Blue going like a bat out of hell is likely something we musicians call MIDI. While there’s no question that Jeff can shred like a madman it is possible to program music from a computer to move on its own, and given the sound here it seems that might be what he chose to do. Caboose singing about Church and Tucker. I got nothin. It’s already been said. Pass the peanut candy. 😁 Church’s song is a riff on the song he STARTED to sing in Season 7 when he was distracting the aliens by delivering a speech/eulogy… you know what, it made sense when I saw it. Caboose can explain. 😂 Sarge got the blues. Yang doesn’t exist yet, but she would have been proud. The last song does seem to have Tex implications. It’s hard to tell with no lyrics for sure. I can tell you that IS Sandy Casey, who is Casey’s mother, and sang Summer’s lines in Red Like Roses Part 2. And Lamar Hall is indeed the rapper from RWBY OSTs. But he’s just getting warmed up here. Your new chair seems to be taking the bouncing better, but if it breaks, remember Caboose’s #1 rule: TUCKER DID IT!

Manny

Okay that was a fun time haha! I went to Church, got Sarged and am feeling caboodled, that was great xD

kamenriderhime

Gotcha!!! I Say Ooh is REALLY fun! And yeah, even better if you are a Church and Tex fan! It's so syrupy sweet and it all works just how it's supposed too!

kamenriderhime

I'm listening to it now, it's amazing haha!!! I'm sticking with what I said, Sarge's VA can really sing, despite the funny Sarge voice!

kamenriderhime

Right?! Like I knew it would be good but not THAT good!!!!!!! CABOODLED OMG!!!!! New fave phrase!!!!!!

kamenriderhime

Ohhhhhh that makes sense, Jeff was pretty busy with that next one :D Ohhh I remember MIDI versions of songs from the early PC days in the 90s! That's pretty amazing about the programming! Hahahahha here is your peanut candy as a reward for feeling the full impact of Caboose's awesomeness. :D Ohhhhhh I knew something about that song was familiar! Hahaha let Caboose handle this one! LOL total Yang joke even though it predates Yang! Oh I knew that was Casey's mom and Lamar, yay!!! And yes definitely seems to have some Church/Tex context. Hahahahha TUCKER DID IT!!!! That's gonna be my new fave excuse :P

Canonman28

Yeah he always sings a song at the end of the extra-life 24 hour charity stream every year. As the CEO of the company he’s quite busy and we don’t see him often anymore 😢 here’s on from 2016 👍 https://youtu.be/QVGXXu5oc4s

Highly recommend checking out some of Trocadarro's songs. They're like the John Williams of RvB. Washington's theme that we usually hear come from The Good Fight. Alot of Tex's earlier themes come from A Girl Named Tex, and of course the main theme of RvB being Blood Gulch Blues. Plus some tracks like No One, Colors, Half Life and Contact are just really cool.

Sirghostfreak

I never knew I needed to hear this until now

Sirghostfreak

If you haven't heard it definitely listen to it

Sirghostfreak

And I am dying to know what you think of it

2022-12-31 00:42:20 I love this soundtrack a lot but it’s not close to the best songs this series has. It was great to hear your excitement before you listened to the songs at the start of the reaction. It was nice to hear more gushing & thoughts on the final episodes must have been easier without the show being crazy. I think the songs are straightforward & speak for themselves so it’s not necessary to be analytical. However I am going to be at least a little analytical because of how much I love this show LOL. I absolutely adore the first song on the soundtrack because of how much it fits the show and the characters especially from what you have seen recently & the instrumental is just awesome. Also it’s nice as a sort of successor to the other red vs blue song from season one or 2. The singing is great but the lyrics are truly amazing. I love how it’s inspired by Sarge’s speech considering how awesome it was. It’s great how it talks about how much they were used and lied to as well as the themes of found family after this season. Also I like the lyrics that seem to be about gray morality considering all the stuff with Washington recently. The mention of memories is great because of Epsilon. Between the electronic instrumental & the strings I’m not sure what the best part of the first song is. Honestly seeing you bouncing around like that was more entertaining than I would have thought LOL. I did love seeing how happy this soundtrack made you. When you shouted “I’m so happy!” I was like that’s very relatable considering how much I love this show. The instrumental was definitely also in the final battle. I love the character songs because of how much they fit the characters and for how awesome the instrumentals are. Also I don’t think the singing except for Lamar is that good but the lyrics are great for the characters. The Church & Sarge songs are hilarious and I love the wordplay/twists with the I’ve got the blues line. The final song on the soundtrack is so incredible. I really love the pop sound of it as well as how it’s basically a love song. I really love the instrumental but the vocals are definitely the best part. I like how other people described it as the love Tex & Church wanted to have but unfortunately couldn’t because of their circumstances/existence it’s honestly really sad. You are right that Jeff is just so talented and it’s amazing that Sandy Casey & Casey Lee Williams are just as talented. I love Sandy Casey’s singing voice it just sounds great. Also I love that this song is very sweet/heartwarming and very smooth. Finally even though the soundtracks only go up to season 10 there are other songs for seasons beyond that are just as awesome but we will get there eventually. I can’t wait to see your first reactions to season 9. Awesome reaction & keep up the great work. :-) <3

It's crazy to think the songs get even better from here! I'm glad you enjoyed my experience with them here! I couldn't agree more about how awesome the song and also the lyrics are for the first song! Hahaha I'm glad I could entertain, this soundtrack really got me grooving!!! Good call on the mention of the gray areas, that does make sense that it applies to Washington. Hahahaha I'm glad you could relate to my happiness!!! This show is so amazing! Yeah makes sense that the character songs wouldn't have the best technical singing, but are still crazy fun. Oh the final song is soooo good! Talk about an ear worm! That's so sad that that's the love they could have had or even that they wanted to have. Oh I know, it was so fun to hear Sandy singing here, she and Casey are so talented! Between Jeff and Sandy's musical abilities, it's no wonder Casey is a prodigy!!! I'm filming my reaction to the first eps of 9 today, I can't wait!!! And I can't wait for more music, yay! Thanks so much for all the support and encouragement!!! ^_^
