Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to episode 6 of Moon Knight!  WOW!!!!  They really came through on this finale!  I was SO happy to see Mark go back for Steven, and the two of them accept each other and work together!!  They had to defy every odd to get back, but they did, and how awesome was it to watch that full Moon Knight henshin!  Also, LAYLA!!!!  How long have I been saying she needs a spin-off?
Well here you go, she has the costume and everything now!  The final battle was great and we kept consistent with Mark and Steven giving the bird (no pun intended lol) to Konshu at the end too.  Except....it would seem there's someone who agreed to keep working with Konshu after all!!!!  WOW!!  How could they not give us a second season now?!  What an ep and what a series!  Great stuff!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

I very much enjoyed the finale and seeing Steven and Mark finally accepting each other completely I really do hope that we get a season too because I want to see what they do with Jake lockley because I find him fascinating as a sort of persecutor Alter. I really hope they don't make him some sort of manic character that only cares about killing. Also in regards to systems being in relationships it's kind of tricky but it can be done. Since all the altars are parts of a whole a spouse or partner does end up having some sort of relationship with each altar but it doesn't always have to be romantic. For instance a lot of systems have Littles which are Alters that are children. Partners of a system will usually respect each Altar and make sure that they feel safe so if their love interest like the host or another altar isn't out, they will just treat the other alters as friends, colleagues, roommates, or even sort of parent role to the child Alters. In Stevens case here as long as both Layla and Mark are okay with it it would be fine for him to also have a romantic partnership with Layla and it wouldn't be considered cheating it would just be more considered polyamory. It's all about consent. So it's not a question of oh who is Layla going to love more that's not what's happening here. Layla can love both Mark and Steven equally and still have a relationship with both it's just different.

I do have a theory about the ending. I do agree with you that because Jake is still friendly with konshu that means that the Avatar relationship is still a thing. But the fact that Jake and konshu are very confident. Makes me worried about the scene in the apartment and the mental hospital. Well I'm not 100% about the mental hospital scene I will say the part with the apartment is interesting. I would wonder why mark would go back to Steven's apartment being that the last time we see him and Steven they were with Layla why not go to her place? Also the fact that like you mentioned the Fishbowl has two fish now which is great symbolism for them being in harmony. Or is it... My theory has to do with the mental hospital scene being right next to the apartment scene because as I've stated previously it seems like the mental hospital is some form of the inner world. Or at least one part of it.. So what if that isn't Steven's apartment? What if Steven and Mark are in the inner world and Jake is out and about. And that Steven and Mark are just not aware that they're in the inner world being deceived into thinking that they're free. Sadly the inner world can look like reality. And the way Steven/Marc just fall into the apartment scene suggests this to me. But it's just a thought. And I have seen many others making the same speculations. Because how would konshu be able to use Jake without Mark and Steven noticing the blackouts?? Keep them busy in a safe environment that they see as reality. While Jake has full control and is the new host for a while. Marc's part of the innerworld takes the shape of a mental hospital. While Steven's part of the inner world looks like his apartment. As discussed Alters aren't always up front viewing what the body is doing. They can hang out in the inner world or go dormant. So it is possible for Mark and Steven to wake up in the inner world and not know what happened because Jake is keeping them in the dark. Letting them have a "normal life" while he does all the stuff for konshu. Jake may see it as protecting them. But no matter what is going on it was a fun season and I really do hope we get a season too because otherwise it feels like a big tease I feel like there's a lot more story here.

Layla’s having a super weird day. She starts off raiding a tomb with two people who are both in her husband’s body, watches them get killed, swears revenge, gets talked down by a corpse claiming to be an Egyptian deity, rescues another one and enters a negotiation phase, and ends up becoming a temporary avatar to fight against a third deity. In other words, some days everything just hits you at once. 😂 You were asking about the different looks Moon Knight was giving off during the fight: Marc fights with a hood on and Steven fights with a hood off. Which does remind me, despite his quirky nature, Steven actually isn’t a bad “negotiator.” Something is revealed to everyone about the different Egyptian gods: they’re all fickle. Even Ahmet abandons her core principles in front of Arthur at some points here. They follow their rules as long as it is beneficial to their own causes to do so and no longer. Oh look, there’s a supremely powerful being above an entire population and they’re starting to suck up a bunch of souls for themselves. Given events in OTHER reaction series that have taken place this week - isn’t this getting a bit old? 👀 The reason Arthur started overpowering Moon Knight during the Street battle is because Ahmet was overpowering Konshu up on the roof. Before the blackout of course. This is what’s going to break your brain, however. Two things. First, we know that Marc’s psychoanalysis was taking place in his mind - is the same thing happening to Arthur or is this whole thing actually taking place? And lastly - the final scene before the credits is Marc/Steven waking up in bed to the same song and getting tripped the same way he did at the start of the series. So the question is… was it real? Did he dream the whole thing? Is it an illusion that he was given to make him think it was a dream? Or is he just having another weird morning? Did the entire series take place while he was sleeping? Or… not? Have fun chewing on what it all means. Regarding the other series, Ms. Marvel is next in the MCU and is complete - however it should be noted that Marvel’s about to kick off two MORE MCU series this month. I do want you to get to Boys and Witcher, but they aren’t as punishing if you put them off. Marvel you kind of need to stay “on time” with because you know they tie series and movies together constantly. It’s probably better to try to get everything “current” there and then hitting the others which don’t affect other mediums.

This was a fun series. It was fun to unmask things along the way and the finale was a huge payoff. I'm hoping for a season 2 but if not this was a fantastic time getting to introduce and get to know the Moon knight story. I think you're right, it was somewhat more about Mark and Steven than Moon Knight. Maybe that's why the figure isn't as touched upon. MK is more about the ppl inside rather than the solo physical entity itself, but maybe I'm just reaching. But hey I learned a lot about a hero that's never really been talked about as many others and I could see possibly why. It's so complicated and perplexing yet so intriguing that you don't mind the hectic mess in wanting to know more and that makes it simple cause you're having fun. I loved it. And Layla looked fly 🪶

Glad to hear it! And I hope we get a season 2 as well, there's a lot they could do with Jake. Here's hoping they don't go the manic/killer route though! That's interesting about romantic relationships and DID! Interesting that it's quite possible to manage the type of relationship with each alter depending on the situation. Consent definitely seems to the key. Communication would be really important. Thank you for taking the time to explain!

kamenriderhime

OH!!! This theory actually makes so much sense! The fishbowl could be a symbol of either scenario honestly....it makes you wonder. I did wonder why there was no mention of Layla or why he'd go back to the old place like you said. The inner world possibility really adds up and it would explain a lot about the ending. Jake could definitely be doing it out of a form of protection. I definitely agree that there's so much more to be told here!!! I just want to thank you again for your openness and informative comments, it truly means a lot and I've found it very educational!!! It's definitely helped me learn more about DID and also accentuated what I was seeing in the show so well!

kamenriderhime

LOL Layla is for sure having one of those days right?! Thanks for clarifying about the hood difference too! Great point about the gods - it seems they ultimately do what suits them at the moment. Hahaha why do my reactions always have a running theme that way?! :P Gotcha, thanks for clarifying the battle situation! Oh wow, the ending could definitely throw me through a loop!!!! I'm not sure what's really going on! I hear you about other Marvel series, that is a really good point! I've been enjoying the MCU shows but decided to open up the polls to some other popular options and...well...you can see how that's going :P I definitely don't want to get too behind and suffer the consequences but at the same time, I hate putting off other shows hat are in demand too!!!! >.< It's a tough choice lol!!!

kamenriderhime

Yes!!! Couldn't agree more! They definitely did a great job with season 1 even if we didn't get more. That actually makes a lot of sense, what you said about MK having more to do with the avatar aspect than the actual adventures of the masked character. Yes, it's definitely a very complex story but I'm glad they took the time to faithfully and respectfully explore it!!!! Layla was AMAZING!!!!!! XD

Kayleigh McRae

Thank you. To be honest it's hard to be open about this sort of disorder. It makes people see you differently. Especially if they have only seen bad representation and don't understand. I'm glad you enjoyed this show, I did as well. While it wasn't perfect representation, it is ALOT better than others that choice to make villains or murderers out of us. Because honestly that rarely happens, and it's insulting to be seen that way. If that was ever the case it would have to be an extreme case where no help was given and the system believed itself to be doing something it should for survival. All of these things can be overcome. As long as the right help is provided. It's heartbreaking and demoralizing being written off by society as crazy. We are totally sane once we have our bearings. Yes we need therapy, but so does someone with simple depression or PTSD. And you don't call them crazy. Thanks so much for being a safe space for us Melissa. And also thank you for not outing us in a video. We would like to keep it that way. :)

kamenriderhime

You're so welcome, and thank you!! I can absolutely see how it would be really tough to open up about it, especially considering how DID is typically misrepresented in the media. It means a lot that you were so open and helped me to understand these concepts. While I'm sure the show took a lot of poetic license and wasn't 100% accurate, I agree that they at least strived to represent DID in less of a negative light, which is something! It's terrible to have to be judged by extreme cases that are not what's typical of most situations of people with DID! I'm so sorry about that, it's not right. I absolutely agree that there are lots of situations where someone needs help and therapy, yet it's not viewed in a way that's so negative the way that DID is. I am so happy you feel safe here!!!! That's absolutely what I strive for! And of course, as much as I appreciate all the info, I never got your permission to give credit in a video (which I was meaning to but kept forgetting sadly lol)! So I will definitely keep it that way in any future seasons of the show too! Thanks for letting me know :) And thanks again for all your help and info!!!

Like I said at the beginning, that song at the end got stuck in my head after this finale, it’s too catchy! Apparently Layla became someone called the Scarlet Scarab or something from the comics. We finally got the reveal of our cold blooded killer Jake Lockley, which as you pieces together, it was only Steven and Mark that Khonshu said he’d let free, any other personalities are fair game. And we better get a season two! I honestly don’t even need Moon Knight to show up in other shows or movies, I’m entertained enough watching him by himself! Though maybe a crossover with a DareDevil, that’d be awesome.

kamenriderhime

It's so catchy!!!! Ohhh interesting about Layla. Glad I was able to piece together the still-existing partnership with Konshu! Yeah as cool as a cameo would be, I'm happy watching them solo as well! A Daredevil crossover would be REALLY sweet though, wow!

Cody

This last episode really set in stone Oscar as my favorite MCU actor. The way he just seamlessly switches between between Mark and Steven while negotiating with Khonshu and during the last asylum scene with Arthur is unbelievable! He deserves so many awards for this!
