Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 2 episode 7 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime!  WHOA!!!  You guys, this feels like a huge turning point!!!
First off, I'm super proud of Rimuru for acting/thinking fast in the fight with Hinata.
Phew!  But dang, getting back to the town was shocking....so many lost...and a few we still have no confirmation on!  Don't think I didn't notice!!!!  I need to KNOW what happened to Shion!!!  >.<  Also, to think that the humans were welcomed due to Rimuru's rule....!!!!  It's just heartbreaking!  I have no idea where we go from here, but let's hope things look up!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Hey, good job surviving that. So much happens in such a short time, you wonder why. It's true what you said about how long things went well for Tempest. They were lucky with whom they met first, like Gazel. Not all humans are bad. Blumund is not their enemy, for instance. It took a long time for the news to spread about what's going on in the previously impassible forest: making alliances, developing trade products, building roads, enticing merchants to visit, and so on. Tempest's effect on the world finally impacted negatively someone with enough power to try to do something about it. At this point I think Clayman is just being opportunistic. There are other forces at work here. For one thing, when Hinata says that Rimuru's city stands in her way, it's not just for the obvious reasons...... Monsters and humans have a different worldview, and monsters aren't always so good either. A lot of the reason why the monsters are the way they are now is Rimuru's influence, despite being a former human himself. Rimuru still is idealistic but won't be so naive in the future.

Rimuru calls that thing he turned into The Glutton. Recall he's inside Hinata's Holy Field, where magicules are purified. So where did the magicules Rimuru needed to pull off that transformation come from? The Glutton seeks out objects within reach to force them to become magicules. Hinata would have been sucked in if she hadn't jumped away quickly enough. I don't completely understand myself what's going on with Shizu. Is her soul still in there? I have no idea. Everything Rimuru did from the point where he made the decision to run away was just a huge distraction so Hinata would be convinced she won, and so she wouldn't notice that he made the doppelganger. Rimuru's doppelganger is not equal to his original self. By the way, Rimuru was able to transfer the sword to his stomach so Great Sage could analyze it before he cut off the connection. The Disintegration spell Hinata is the highest level holy magic spell that one person can use. The principle is not normal physics like heat or nuclear energy.

I don't understand what Rigurd thought he was accomplishing by trying to hide the deaths from Rimuru. It's not like he wouldn't have found out pretty quickly. I also don't completely understand why Benimaru and Grucius could use as much magic inside the barriers. Rimuru is the only monster in town who can get through the barriers because he's the only one of them who can use multilayer barrier on himself. Humans can pass through with no problem. Mjollmile was in town at Rimuru's invitation and more time had passed than was apparent. Rimuru was able to use a kind of wormhole to allow the merchants in town to get back to Blumund without passing by the Falmuth army. Well, that's it for this episode. They do skip a lot in the next few episodes leading a lot of people to wrong conclusions.

Rats......it's been over a year since this happened to me. I cannot download the file for some reason......

kamenriderhime

Oh no! Can you try a different device? Or a different Google account? Sometimes signing out/back in helps too!

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

I can try a different device when i get home later. It's all good. I can also just wait till tomorrow. I'm frustrated a bit only because I thought this wouldn't be an issue again.

kamenriderhime

I'll keep checking it to see if it's processed or not. If it doesn't process soon, I can try re-uploading the file. I know it's frustrating! Sorry! Thanks for your patience!

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

The episode rendered...so i don't need to download...thanks

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

Omg...now episode 8 is fighting me.....haha

kamenriderhime

Oh no you’re kidding! That one was actually processed lol! Let me know if it keeps giving you trouble ok!

It’s a little difficult to speak about this particular episode in context since you’ve already moved on to the next one (this is the negative side of the coin when it comes to doing 2 at a time), but I’ll try to poke a few things. First, the battle with Hinata and that whole doppelgänger business was pretty clever. They also dropped a huge clue when you look at the dialogue again. If the Chimera beast type Rimuru wasn’t enough to raise a red flag, Hinata’s comment that she detected no soul should’ve been. It also should be noted that Hinata is part of the Church colluding with Falmuth, but she seems to act a bit more independent from the rest of her peers. Rimuru did make the comment that she was too powerful for him. If she discovers he’s still alive, and is as headstrong - well, he’s going to need to find a solution. This whole infatuation with Mjurran has caused a lot of drama, and trouble as well. There’s a lot of hotheads in Tempest right now, (I realize that’s a pun with Benimaru losing his cool), but it seems Rimuru showed up in the Nick of time to stop him from doing something rasher. As soon as Rimuru sent that order regarding humans in S1, I immediately said, yeah, that’s going to bite him cause humans can be such understanding people. Sometimes you hate being right. Rimuru’s biggest peeve is seeing all the casualties, and now he’s second guessing himself regarding everything. Since we’ve already gone on to the next ep which adds a ton more to discuss, I’ll just leave it here that for the first time in quite a while, he has no idea what the next move should be, so it’s good that he is gathering intel first.

Im sorry I can't remember the seller dogs name but I want him and Ranga to share a drink together out of doggy bowls. That's the only way to bring cheer right now. Those were good monsters who suffered enough before we met them darn it. And always so accepting to help anyone with their community because they finally received help. I'm really mad. You didn't have to know any of them, as we do some of our other crew, cause you knew they were just really good ppl who would stick out their necks for you. Ughhh. Now I need a snack. It's too upsetting 😢

kamenriderhime

Hahah thanks! That's the thing, they went a long time with no problems. Yes, they have human allies too! It's definitely not a blanket statement thing. Exactly, they attracted some not so good attention, which is inevitable sadly. Hmm, other influences...monsters being bad...why do I get the idea this is leading up to some kind of background story for Hinata and/or the larger forces at work here? Good point though, Rimuru's influence has changed the monsters a lot, but we've certainly seen destructive monsters before so it makes sense that there's good and bad on both sides. Yeah Rimuru's gonna be just a bit harder after this incident I think...

myst0dreamer

Haha, don't read too much into what I said about bad monsters unless maybe if you include Majin. I'm not sure where the cutoff between the two is. Some (but not all!) of what I said is a long while in the future.

kamenriderhime

Yes!!! I keep forgetting the name. Hmmm, I hadn't thought about that with the magicules...?? Yeah I'm not sure about Shizu! Ah, that's a good note that the doppelganger is not as strong. And good point about the sword, that was smart!!! Also interesting about the spell. Thanks for all the info!

kamenriderhime

Yeah I mean, it was inevitable. Oh good note about the magic use and Rimuru's structure, hadn't thought of that! Oh so there was some passing of time here, got it. Also good note about the next few eps, I'm sure I'll need some clarification then haha!

Yeah sorry about that, the only way to really get around it is filming one after the other is released! :/ The doppelganger stuff was so well played! Yes, she's part of the Church but definitely seems to be doing her own thing as well. I'm sure sooner or later she'll find out he survived! Lol hothead is on the nose but I see what you mean, it's a good thing Rimuru gets there when he does! Ugh, I know, I immediately thought of his rule and how it might backfire!!! It is good that he's taking the time to gather intel, but dang, this for sure would throw anyone through a loop!!
