Hey everyone!  Here I am with Red vs. Blue, season 8, eps 5 - 7!  The shenanigans continue as we get all sorts of things here, from an oddly amusing interrogation scene, to Delta showing up briefly, to Church clearly being up to something when it comes to getting those memories back...!!!  Also, didn't you know that Reds don't walk?!?!?!  Honestly!!!!  :P  I seriously cannot wait for what's coming here!!!  I know it's gonna be big and possibly really bad lol.  Great eps!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Red vs Blue is a show that spent five years building a wacky, unpredictable world, and then never stops trying to explain and contextualize it. I think part of it is the show lasted so long, and has gone through several tone shifts and like 7 story arcs, and the writers want to try and mesh what they're doing now with the past seasons.

First, looks like Sarge has watched Scooby-Doo. “Ruh-Roh?” Had to get that dig in there. You kinda have to feel sorry for the aliens. They found their deity and now they’ve been led astray by these… false witnesses. (Also, what’s Tucker mean when he’s talking about the Italian girl? Best to leave that one alone…. Kicking Church is a football reference, that’s why the episode is called Fourth and Twenty. Never tell Simmons to be cool. That will never. Be. Cool. The Reds mention “have you noticed the Blues always seem to have more going on?” It’s because they do. People at this point in the show started to notice that the Blues always seemed to be the ones driving the plot for one reason or another. Rule Numero Uno: Reds don’t walk. Anywhere. Ever. So how did Simmons obey Sarge and get the Jeep without using his legs? Speaking of using Jeep’s, Doc’s unfortunate situation is actually resulting in some unintended comedy, which tends to work out better. Although I suppose I’d be a little bit less laughable if it was my codpiece they were trying to hook a tow line up to. Also do remember, the Meta is actually a Freelancer, so he does have emotions, feelings and reactions even if his method of communicating is unique. Delta mentions if Epsilon starts to unlock the memories then he will begin the cycle again. Something to keep in mind. This is not something the other AI want to occur. Caboose will do anything for Church, no questions asked. Because they’re best friends. The conversation at the tree reveals that Sheila was originally a robot program called F.I.L.S.S (Phyllis). Now if you remember Church’s time traveling adventure from Season 3 - the first time he got in the tank she identified herself as Phyllis, and he said “not Sheila?” Then she added that name to her responses and that’s how Season 1 came about. Timey wimey. The boulder has started to roll down the hill and is picking up speed… 😎

Aw both Washington and Doc can't seem to catch a break 😅

Great way to sum it up! It makes total sense that they'd want to build some consistency between all the different tones.

Hahahha yes Sarge is a secret Scooby Doo fan, I love it! I know, I do kinda feel bad for the aliens! LOL seriously, what was that supposed to mean about Italian girls??? Who knows....when it comes to Tucker, I don't ask questions :P Ohhhh I know nothing about football so thanks for clarifying. Yup, never ever tell Simmons to be cool! Hahah yeah it's funny, I never really noticed till they pointed it out, but the Blues do have a lot going on that pushes the plot forward! Oof, poor Doc! That's true, despite the monster-like sounds, Meta is a freelancer....so yeah, makes sense he'd show some emotion every now and then. Yes, good call on the mention of the cycle starting again. So does that mean he'd regain Director Church's memories and implement everything all over again? Or something else? Aww Caboose is the best BFF ever! YES, I knew there was a mention of Phyllis somewhere!!! Timey wimey indeed!!! Omg, cannot wait for more!!

2022-08-26 23:28:17 Great episodes. I love hearing your theories. I really enjoy the shenanigans with the aliens and their anger about Church being gone it’s just fun. I think it’s very humorous to see the characters stuck dealing with the aliens and kind of just accept it. Grif Kicking Church & his reaction is always amazing. Also Simmons is officially banned from trying to be cool LOL. That was the worst slang ever. I am pretty sure that was fake LOL. Caboose pranking people is hilarious. It’s always good to have a little silliness in life. Interrogations of characters in this show are always going to be difficult. And yeah Wash’s role as the straight man is perfect. He will never escape the shenanigans. I love how we are starting to get more of a sense of the Meta’s personality without the AI’s presence. It’s so cool to see a memory of Delta. Especially with him bringing up interesting things & mysterious stuff to think about. I feel like Grif in episode 6 represents characters and the audience with having no idea what’s going on. Also the talk about the blues having more going on than the reds is very meta. I agree with the red team is fun and I like them but the blues have a lot more plot going on and push the story along. Once again poor Doc he needs a hug. Also I really liked the dynamic “camera” in episode 6. I love your description of Washington as a action hero stuck in a comedy LOL. As you should understand by now Caboose is ride or die for life baby LOL. It’s interesting but dark to see even more how Washington works. The whole reds don’t walk thing is perfection. It’s crazy how Sarge’s mind works they’re not savages after all. It was so cool to see Sheila/Phyllis in some form. It’s so crazy to think she was always a part of freelancer. And changes a lot about what you think of her from other seasons most likely being a copy of a normal AI that was a big part of project freelancer put in a tank. It was really interesting to see the interactions with her as well as realizing Church is the director. This show really makes you think doesn’t it? You are definitely a fan of the show being able to recognize Sheila’s voice so quickly. Something big is going to happen huh? Whatever do you mean? (I know you have seen the next set of episodes I just had to joke :-).) Awesome reactions & keep up the great work. :-) <3

I'm glad you like my theories and the comedy is great!! The slang, Caboose pranks, and poor Wash constantly getting dragged into the silliness are all gold. Yeah it is cool getting to see more of the Meta's personality. And seeing Delta again was amazing! Lol the blues really do have more going on don't they! And Grif's totally the avatar for the audience, not having a clue. The reds are fun for sure though! Poor Doc!!! Oh yes the "camera" work was really cool!!! Hahah glad you like my description of Wash!!! Caboose is the best BFF ever! Washington is scary when you really get to see how he thinks, for sure. So sad!! :/ Reds don't walk hahaha, such a great bit! Yay Sheila/Phyllis! It's crazy but makes sense that she was part of Freelancer. Yeah that's true, it does kinda re-shape what we think of her! This show is quite thought provoking when it wants to be!!! YAY I'm a super fan :D Hahahah oh yeah something big happened alright!!!! Thank you so much for all the kindness and support!!! ^_^

Thanks for the response. Also just in case you missed it I left a comment on your reaction to the four episodes of season 8.

I love how they always jab at how all the important story stuff happens to the Blues.
