Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 1 episode 17 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime!  Oh dang guys, so much going on in this one!!!  Of course we're getting more activity with demon lords and their cohorts coming to seek out our new nation, because we knew that was gonna be a thing, but.....wow, now there's lots of other stuff as well, for example this whole Charibdys character....!!!  I enjoyed getting to meet Youm, Phobio, etc, - and seeing Tear (I think maybe we've seen them before).  Also, we now have an official "story" for how the orc lord was defeated, interesting!!!  We're just making allies left and right here, way to go Rimuru!!!  Something is brewing though....can't wait to see more!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Hi, good reaction! About Fuze, the conversation with the noble about having been saved from the Orc Lord, is because if he hadn't been stopped, he would have kept going, and Blumund would likely have been the first human nation in his path. In fact, iirc, the last time an Orc Lord appeared, he did make it to human lands, and a combined multi-national and Church force had to take him on. So this was a big deal for them. Also, this was potentially scary for the humans, knowing that the monsters in the forest were organized and strong enough to take down the Orc Lord. (I honestly don't see how Clayman could have thought he could control such a beast, must be ego, I guess.) So that is why he wanted to alleviate humans' fears about monsters in general and give Tempest a chance, for trade, and eventually, tourism. They have a lot of prejudice to overcome. ************ Interestingly, the reason that Rimuru could make Full Potions (99 percent), was apparently his internal manufacture was under vacuum conditions, and he suggested that Vesta try that. Also, you get low potions by dilution of high or full potions.************ Charybdis. Originally a word from Greek mythology. I think it's a sea monster there. Pronounced Ka-RIB-dis, at least in English. I noticed there is a comment on the Ep. 18 video, I just want to clarify the Japanese pronunciation, the last syllable is "dees", and you almost don't pronounce the u in the previous syllable. But that's just an attempt by the Japanese to pronounce a foreign word, so anything close to either of them is fine by me.*************The bat wings Rimuru uses are from the bat he defeated in Veldora's cave. That's also from which he first got the capability of making sound.

Thanks so much!!! Right, the Orc Lord was on a mission that wouldn't have stopped there! Good point that the organization the monsters displayed could be troubling for humans! There really is a lot of prejudice, hmm! Thanks for the info on the potions! Ah yes, thanks for clarifying about the pronunciation! It sounded like "Ka-REE-buh-des" when they were saying it, but the spelling did not include the added "uh" after the b, so I figured as much! Ohhhh so the wings were from a bat! Cool!!! Thanks for the info!
