Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction to episode 91!   WOW, dang...the king is here, the queen got demolished during childbirth, and the king does not even care...!  It's interesting to see the kind of strong feelings that older members like Colt have...you can see the progressive loss of that strong bond leading all the way up to the king, who seems to really not have a particular loyalty to anything but himself.  Meanwhile, they're really not gonna fill me in on the details of the fight with Knuckle and Shoot?!  I had to check to see if I accidentally skipped an ep!  Poor Gon...and poor Killua, thinking he's gonna have to leave Gon, which is DEFINITELY NOT happening!!!  Exciting stuff guys!  Great ep!  Enjoy!!  ~ MH

Can we call in Saitama now? Then again, maybe Gohan would be enough considering how similar looking the King is to Cell. 😆

Knuckle talks about the cat briefly when he is explaining his power. It basically replaces the little plushy thing with the counter when it reaches the targets max aura. The cat seals away a person's nen for 30 days. That why killua says he will protect Gon until he has his nen back!

Yeah I think I started to put together that it had something to do with Knuckle's attack! Thanks for clarifying! That makes total sense....one kitty has Gon's nen, and the other kitty has Gon's back <33333

fun reaction as always. Especially enjoyed that mom reprimanding look after the ending theme and "ok lets talk" :D Yup this episode was rough but I actually wanted to go more in depth on a philosophical question on the morality of the ants. I'm going to play devil's advocate here where you might not like this take haha. You mentioned liking Peggy and Colt despite how "they've done bad things" in service of the queen. To review, the chimera ants were born of a single purpose which is to protect and nurture the queen. When you boil down the discussion to this level, does that make them that different from us humans of the relationship between a parent and the need to protect and nurture a child? Furthermore, there's also the subject about of gathering the food. We as a society hunt animals "lower" in the totem pole for food. Chimeras have identified humans as a food source just as much as we treat meat. Yes there is malpractice in the cruel ways they do it but that also happens with us all the time with our food handling violations. BUUUT at the end of the day, does that make them bad "people" (people because of the established human line in their blood)? You also have to note that the chimera ants are probably even more innocent in this in comparison to us because having only been born a few weeks, they know nothing of society's law and order. They've barely begun to understand that there is more to life than just following their instincts for self preservation. It's a fascinating subject that, in my opinion, is the greatest achievement of this arc. To put a final note on this, I'll even defend the actions of the eccentric character that is Neferpitou. When she killed Kite, we have to realize it was not her who provoked it. It's actually pretty genius writing to have Kite teach Gon about stepping into animal territory and the lesson of not messing with a foxbear protecting their young. The parallels here of Pitou being that mom protecting their territory from ANY threats (and yes Kite, exuding the amount of dangerous Nen was a great threat) and the irony of Kite being the young ignorant Gon deliberately stepping into their territory with the ants he was trailing as the symbolism for the foxbear markings is pretty great as I'm realizing all of this just now even after my 20th rewatch of this show. Anyway I'm curious on your thoughts after reading this essay of mine. hehe xD sorry about that long read..i just get really passionate about this show and feel it lacks the credit it deserves by the community at times

There’s shifting going on. The chimera ants are no longer in unison like before. Which seems good but more elaborate things are going to take place. Now excuse me as it is time to pay my credit card bill 💸 😿

Hmmm, good point...a shift of power and structure comes with lots of consequences!!! Uggghhh nooooo no adulting please!!!! :P

kamenriderhime

Yay, thank you!!! Hahaha glad you liked my stern mom look :P That's actually a great point about the ants and their ecosystem!!! There really are a lot of similarities to the way humans hunt, survive, live, interact, etc. It's just jarring to see it in this light, probably part of the intention of the creator I'd imagine! OOF, I'd never thought of that with Kite ironically being the one to teach Gon not to mess with animals/territory only to be in a position where his presence provoked a similar reaction from Neferpitou....!! This was so interesting, thanks for sharing your thoughts!!! It's definitely a different way to look at things besides just the surface level. And that's what's so awesome about this show! No need to apologize, omg! I got a lot out of it! Thanks so much! And I agree, I think HxH should be way higher on the list of epic anime of its time!! I think it's beloved by the folks who know it though. :)
