Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction and review of episode 24 of the final season of AoT!  WHOA!!!!  Looks like we've got one EPIC team-up ahead of us!!!  Dang guys, not gonna lie, there were SO many tense moments in this one that had my blood pressure SPIKED!!!!
Armin truly channeled his inner Smith and pulled a dangerous move that worked, although as his mom I cannot approve!!!!!  Sheesh!!!  Annie got lots of pie, Mikasa had a moment over her scarf and (sadly) the news of losing her young friend, and last but not least....EPIC JEAN DOUBLE CROSS SAVE THE DAY TEAM-UP TIME, LET'S GOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!  Just imagine being Reiner, waking up to this all of the sudden :P  CANNOT WAIT and for the first time in a very long time, I'm full of hope :D  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

What a fantastic and intense episode. I love how it starts out with showing us what happened with Hange & Levi. It sucks to see her sorrow because these are former comrades that she has to kill just to survive. Getting a full view of how bad Levi’s injuries are is rough but thankfully he is ridiculously tough and Hangs is experienced in first-aid. Seeing her musings here is sad because she is right that everyone thinks they’re right but eventually times change and you become the bad guy. Also of course she would be considering just giving up she is so exhausted. It’s so cool that they actually show that Eren’s speech in the Paths was instantaneous. It’s insane that Levi is already trying to get up only half a day after the explosion it really shows his unyielding determination but it is sad that his goal is really all he has left considering at this point he doesn’t see happiness for himself as possible. I love how they aren’t the type of people who can lay down and die even if they want to. I knew the interactions between Pieck, Magath, Hange and Levi would be interesting. I think it makes sense that Magath would be willing to listen as a military leader he understands strategically why he should listen. I like that Hange confirms that Zeke is most likely being held by Eren to do all this we did see a bunch of tentacles surround him when the transformation started. Also it’s sad to see her make a distinction between Eren and the founding Titan since she can’t see them as the same. I can definitely see why people ship Pieck & Hange since 2 very intelligent people hanging out and having fun sounds very cute. It’s really cool to see these people uniting and working together towards a common goal and I’m just saying this never would have before Eren started his plan seems like this might have been part of his plan in my opinion. It’s horrible with the rumbling going on a lot of people can’t sleep and I think the people who are awake are the ones who have a lot of conflicting things going on like Jean who doesn’t want to have to hear this and different parts of his personality/desires are clashing. Mikasa being so sad having to deal with Eren being the one doing this, Annie still having a lot to think about and Conny having a lot of turmoil over what he wants to do. I love that when thinking about how trusting Falco is he thinks of his friends because of their trust in him. About Sasha I think she would have understood but definitely would be trying to stop him and could have easily convinced him to stop knowing how wrong it is. Something interesting someone pointed out that is plausible but probably won’t be concerned is Conny decided to Camp out to give his friends a chance to catch up because if they really cared about him they would be doing everything to stop him. I think the scene between Mikasa and Louise is great even if it’s depressing. I think the major point of this scene is showing they really don’t have a relationship and Louise really has a false perception of Mikasa since a lot of what Louise does goes against what she wants. Also Mikasa taking the scarf after learning Eren wanted to throw it out (possibly seeing it as chains on her) possibly trying to take back what it means to her for herself. Even if she doesn’t care about Louise she probably feels bad about someone dying because they were inspired by her which is sad. It sucks that the Yaegerist’s are in control like this and that it looks like way more people are supporting them as well as the rumbling then people who aren’t. On 1st watch it looks like Mikasa is disgusted with both the group and Jean but after the episode you realize it’s disgust with them but a look of determination between her and Jean. The entire scene in Ragako village is intense, terrifying and stressful but so amazing. I like that Falco is able to figure out who Sasha is quickly because of the situation on the airship but even more because of the situation with Niccolò in the restaurant. I like that Conny clarifies that this is not revenge because all he wants is to save his mother. I feel like the toothbrushing plan was the best thing Conny could come up with quickly because he didn’t really have a plan. Also it implies that Conny has actually been taking care of his mom the best he can when he visits. His disturbing face is meant to show his extreme desperation in this moment. Of course it would turn into a hostage situation when the others showed up. You really have to feel bad for Falco being confused in this entire scene because of his memory loss. Gabi crying out for Falco with tears in her eyes is really well animated. Armin’s plan here was smart but also dumb and reckless because of the risk involved. It also very much is something Erwin would have done reflected by remembering him when he led a horde of titans towards Reiner & Bertold when they were holding Eren hostage to save him losing an arm in the process. However I don’t think this plan was all about sacrificing himself even if Armin would do that to save someone I think it was about putting things into perspective for Conny. Like if losing someone you care about is where you draw the line why would you do that to someone else. I love the beautiful clear sky and how it represents their clear minds to save others. I actually love how they end up meeting Annie especially because I noticed her 2 seconds before the reveal. I love her face here and how she starts chewing faster it’s hilarious and some much needed levity it’s very nice to see Conny smile/laugh like this. Also Armin’s look of horror is perfect. You have to feel bad for Hitch being left alone by the closest thing to a friend she has left after losing Marlow. The public execution scene is showing the true horrors of radicalization and what it can do to people. I like that Yelena even as broken as she is she’s aware enough to call out Floch on not just killing her instead of pontificating over everything as he does. He’s totally willing to kill but needs to make sure they understand why they are in this position. Jean being so sad and disappointed is rough. They are becoming exactly what they fought and hated for so long and it’s really depression. You can see the malice & resolve in their words and faces its scary. Unfortunately this type of thing is altogether too real and that’s the scariest part. It sucks to see Onyankopon in such despair trying to get through to these people. However it is awesome to see him go off, calling them out and speaking the truth. Also his laughter is truly desperate the voice acting here for him is so amazing. I love how they actually go there with the xenophobia comment. Honestly this show is 1 of the best arguments against fascism in a fictional show. I think we all had faith In Jean but I think the way the show used suspense here made every person I watched a reaction of have some doubt especially after seeing him wavering last episode. I think it’s hilarious that part of the plan Jean helped come up with was to give Floch the middle finger and make a point with his signal. I don’t think saving Floch was completely part of the plan but I do think Jean did it to give a good excuse that he wasn’t working with Pieck and also probably didn’t want someone to die because of a plan he was a part of. Honestly Floch’s oh fuck moment not knowing where Mikasa is is hilarious. I love how efficiently and awesomely they were able to enact this plan it really shows the power of teamwork. I like the detail that even now Annie is staying as far away from everyone as possible in a small wagon. Honestly I think the only character that could possibly make sense as watching them through the window is Shadis although I don’t know what this might mean for the story. I love that Jean did this because he could not forget Marco it’s incredible & emotional that Marco’s inspiration & influence is still so important so long after his death. Jean is low key 1 of the best characters in this show he wants to be able to stop fighting but can’t just give up any more he has had too much development. Also the sunset and reflection on the water is so beautiful. I love how the last person they needed for this team was Reiner and while there is a lot of complicated feelings it’s amazing that they are coming together like this. This could feel contrived but in this show it just feels like the most hype thing ever in my opinion. Also this cliffhanger might be my favorite one in the entire show. I am predicting a ton of character interactions and discussions next episode I think it is borderline necessary. Also I really need to know the plan for how the hell they’re going to stop Eren. One really interesting thing that just came to me at some point after watching this was the title of the episode references people wanting others to be proud of them like Jean with Marco and Conny with his mom but it also might reference something else that being a group of lions is called a pride and they are all together in a “pack” by the end of the episode. Awesome reaction to an episode I loved so much. Keep up the great work. :-) <3

Oh I know, poor Hange! Yeah it was cool to see where everyone was at during the Paths situation! It's so sad to think of all folks like Hange and Levi have gone through but they are just unable to stop no matter what. So happy we got to see them all interacting! Pieck and Hange was fun lol! Yeah as if everyone here doesn't have enough on their minds keeping them up at night, there's also the rumbling keeping them up. Yeah it's sad to see things play out with Louise and Mikasa and I can't help but think it mirrors Eren and Mikasa in a lot of ways. Oh I hadn't even thought of that, that Conny is probably still looking after his mom's hygiene and all, dang! Yeah I agree, I think Armin was trying to prove a point to Conny but also definitely was being reckless and was willing to put his life on the line for it, very Smith like. Good point about the sky! And the execution scene just feels way too real, for sure, really highlighting how the Jaegerists have become everything they claim to be against. Onyankopon was right on target with his comments. It was brought to my attention later that Jean was probably referring to Marco which is awesome. Jean is amazing! Ohhhhh good call about the wordplay there! I can't wait to see how they plan on pulling this off!!! Thank you so much, your kind words mean a lot!!! I appreciate all the support!!!!!!!! ^_^
